How have I lived in Austin for 12 years and never been to Cisco's?The place is bigger than it looks and features a cute diner style area as well as a couple of dining rooms. Our server was super friendly and answered all of our questions as we perused the menu.We started off by trying the Salsa Toxica. It's their spicy salsa but has a really unique flavor. Then we ordered the Migas and the Huevos Rancheros. The migas were full of chips and veggies and the ranchero sauce was lovely. After seeing the kitchen staff pulling fresh, house-made biscuits out of the oven, we knew we had to try them as well. I never thought I would say this, but one of the best biscuits I've ever had is from a Mexican restaurant. You absolutely have to try them!! They have such a lovely flavor and consistency. I truly look forward to returning to Cisco's for more meals and more biscuits!

The last time I ate here was in the 1980s. Very good - enjoyed the migas breakfast plate. Glad to be back.

I absolutely love this legendary diner that goes far back into the old Austin history and culture. Can I just start by saying how nice everyone is here? Like literally the sweetest people work there. And they take such good care of their customers. I mean just look at my queso pic. It's nice to go somewhere and be treated like family. The food blows my socks off. There isn't anything on the menu that I wouldn't recommend. In fact, I'd suggest ordering everything all at once. Too bad that's not possible for our stomachs to handle. Heck, that just means multiple visits to one of the best places on the planet.

We came for brunch, to meet up with friends who hadn't been here since their youth. They stated that the food taste has somewhat dropped from what they remember. Perhaps due to new cooks and such. Regardless, we thought our food was of satisfactory Tex-Mex quality. This large yet cramped restaurant felt somewhat loud as we made our way to the back section for our seats. It is an old building, in the old part of the city, with dated seating. They have a lot of different pictures and such on their walls that I kept glancing at as I made my way to my seat. These added details adds charm to the ambiance. If you're going for top-notch food, this may not be the place.

Ciscos is an all time classic on the east side. One of the few classic cafes around that has not budged on their classic dishes. Still high quality and made to order, I've always enjoyed the huevos rancheros or the pancake plate with a Mexican cook. Really cool digs and vibes inside!

I and my friends were headed to a nearby dance pub and wanted to eat first. There were a lot of nearby restaurants within walking distance but we selected Cisco's based on the menu. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner selections all day long. I got the Cisco Special and really enjoyed everything on it. It had a big ol slab of fajita beef that I sliced up and had a bit with every bite. We got house margaritas on the rocks that were most welcome. My wife got the migas breakfast plate and said it was great too. Our server was grand and our six meals came out all together which was pleasant. As others have mentioned, the decor is a bit drab but the photos in the back room were fascinating. We enjoyed our visit and the reasonable prices. We'll be back.

Brought my brother who is from out of town here as we were in the neighborhood and this seemed like "old Austin." We were promptly greeted by a friendly waitress (who never gave her name). The chicken enchiladas or carne guisada lunch special was recommended. When brother said he didn't know what carne guisada was, she brought him a sample. He liked it and ordered it. My chicken enchiladas were fine. The special ($9) included iced tea. After reading so many reviews about the fabulous breakfast tacos, I'll have to try those next time.

Old school Tex-MexYou come here for the vibe. And the food, which is part of the vibe, and pretty much exactly what you'd expect from classic Austin Tex-Mex. Decent sized portions (ok, sometimes huge), and very happy-making.Great service took so if you don't want to stand in the infinite lines in the nearby places, eat here!!

I came here a long while back with my grandparents and had to find it again. The food was just as good as I remembered. The migas plate was flavorful and the biscuits baked to perfection. Was the perfect remedy to a weekend of fun in Austin.
