This is as good as it gets in Austin for Korean food (for now). Service is quick. Portions are big. Banchans are free flowing. I got the seafood soondubu. The set comes with the soup, rice, and a grilled fish. I eat a lot and even I could not finish my whole meal

Pretty decent as far as Austin Korean restaurants go! We came as a huge party of around 20 people, and the workers were so accommodating. We ended up splitting between two huge tables. And one of our groups was able to use the private room. The banchan quickly came out, they were both refillable and delicious. I especially loved the potatoes and the fishcake. But not so sure about the radish (?).I got one the combination seafood and beef tofu stew with medium spiciness. It was barely spicy though, if I could rechoose, I would have gone with a spicier option for sure. The rice comes out in a little pot which I love because the edges crisped up a bit. The stew had a good amount of both beef and seafood. But it was a little annoying to have to peel the shrimp myself.

I wouldn't go back. We came here with a large group (20ish people) and were able to split half into the large private room. Banchan was great and can be refillable. However, when taking our orders, the server forgot which orders were already taken and unluckily for me, it turns out it was my kimchi jjigae order. I also want to note that I originally wanted a lunch special, but turns out these are only available on weekdays. It does not mention that on the menu (as far as I could tell) so I wish I didn't waste my time scrutinizing that part of the menu. Maybe it was a good thing my order got left off because I was actually full from just eating my bf's pork bulgogi and banchan. The pork bulgogi tastes good but quickly becomes repetitive after eating it for a while and I suspect there's some MSG. We were not able to finish it and had some leftovers. We were also not well-taken care of and had to ask multiple times for gochujang sauce, napkins, and water. I don't know if it's because we're in a private room, but the service was minimal. Regardless of the service, the food was alright but nothing special to me. I have had lots of Korean food and worked for a Korean restaurant before so...maybe a la carte isn't the move. I know they also have all you can eat bbq but we didn't get that. Everything is priced really high. The pork bulgogi (that only comes with one bowl of rice) after tax is already $30, which is enough to get all you can eat at Kpot or something similar. If you want affordable, delicious Korean food, this isn't it.

The Good: Really friendly service and great ambience. The food was also not too salty and tasted really fresh. The Bad: Even though we got our soup with spice Level 4, as a person that loves spicy things it was not as spicy. Spice lovers try Level 4 and upwards.

Always down for Korean food, and this locL spot is a good one. We came with a large party and they had long tables in separate rooms which was perfect for us. They have a lot of menu items and combos. They also have lunch bento boxes but those are only for weekdays, which the menu doesn't mention. The prices for the portions are good! The banchan is not bad and comes with unlimited refills like at other Korean restaurants. I ordered chicken dumpling tofu soup and the dumplings were yummy. The spice level, however, was inaccurate - I got medium but it was barely spicy, I would've considered it below mild. The rice came in a hot pot so the edges get crispy, which I like.

Great KBBQ restaurant in the North Austin/ South Round Rock area! Conveniently located right off the I-35. Been here two times, and received great service, food, and vibes each time. The AYCE KBBQ option has four options to pick from, ranging from $30-60 (approximately). I get the second option lowest option for the Short Ribs. Meat quality is great, sides are good, and the customer service is always on point.Give this place a try!

First time trying this place out since it replaced Charm. I think it's definitely an improvement as far as non ayce korean food goes (only tried the regular menu today). It's clean and super spacious now. There was a separation between the regular diners and the ayce kbbq-ers which was considerate. We got the Kimchi and Beef Soft Tofu Jjigae as well as the Cold Noodles + Spicy Pork Bulgogi combo. The Banchan was good--i really liked their kimchi, fishcakes, and japchae. The cucumbers were alright...the mayo-y dish was a no for me, but that's mostly because i'm just anti-mayo. The fried croaker only comes with the jjigae. Onto the entrees--i really liked my tofu jjigae--perfect amount of delicate tofu, great flavor (med spice was perfect for me), and a carefully cracked soft yolk egg. There was a TON of beef in my soup which was good. However, there was no kimchi at all...i'm wondering if they just forgot to put it in the bowl or had a mistake in the order. Regardless, i still enjoyed it. Bonus, the side of rice came in a hot metal pot and got a bit of crisp on the edges. For the combo meal, the portions were massive! We had a ton of leftover pork and didn't finish the giant bowl of noodles. The spicy pork bulgogi was good, but didn't have that nice char at the bottom--also wasn't quite spicy either. Korean cold noodles aren't quite my thing, but flavor was solid. The entree combos are definitely quite worth with the amount of food that they give you. Service was friendly. Will definitely be back another day!

2nd time here and I have to say I love the intestine tofu soup! It went back just to make sure because the first time was good.I got the galbi + tofu soup combo ($28). Good portions for both items. Galbi is nice and charred, soup is very rich and flavorful. Banchan is also very good. Steamed eggs is light on the seasoning, but I don't mind it. Eggs are fluffy. Seafood pancake comes out on a hot plate, so it stays nice and crispy, some pieces were a little burnt though.Happy that this restaurant is close by my neighborhood. With parking lot (this is a deal-breaker sometimes if there isn't one)

This restaurant is the renovated and rebranded restaurant that was called Charm. This was my first time there since the rebrand/renovation and the menu definitely is different. My friend and I got the Kalbi, Kim chi stew, oyster pancake, and cold noodles. Service was great and attentive. All the dishes were delicious. I'm not so much a fan of the oyster pancake (I like regular seafood pancakes more. Not a demerit to the restaurant, just a personal preference). The Kimchi stew was nice and sour and the pork was great.I like that they bring you a small personal mackerel if you order a stew and they brought us toasted rice with tea to pour into it to enjoy.Lastly the cold noodles were so good, super refreshing during this season. It's hard to find places in Austin that serve this, so definitely worth coming here to try.

I'm pretty sure this is another location of my favorite Korean restaurant in Dallas, but OMG I can't believe they opened a location in Austin!!! They replaced Charm and made really good use of the space. Staff is really friendly, and it's really clean with a lot of room in between tables. I'm assuming that because Charm was a KBBQ restaurant, they've decided to take advantage of the equipment and tables that were meant for grilling purposes, which is really smart. My friend and I ordered the oyster pancake, tofu soup, and I also got the galbi combi. Their food always hits. The tofu soup is packed with flavor, and they put a lot of seafood inside the seafood soup. We were most amazed by their oyster pancake. It was so nicely cooked/fried with a nice crunch for texture, and I just love oyster pancakes in general but they really knocked it out of the park. Their galbi is always cooked to perfection, and there's so much flavor as well. Cho Dang's side dishes will always be my favorite, and you can honestly get full just off of the side dishes. My friend and I also ordered the corn cheese, which was so good! Great mayo + cheese flavor.I can't wait to come back again, and I love that Austin is building out its Asian food scene. Cho Dang is a great addition, so please give them a visit!
