Chimy's Cerveceria

I can't say enough great things about this place. We've visited before and enjoyed it, but this past weekend was the best experience we've had there so far. We are used to the Lubbock and Fort Worth locations but the service this weekend really put this one at the top. Service was fantastic and kind (from the help at the bar to the manager to the waitstaff). Everyone seemed to enjoy working there and it showed! Even when my kid spilled a drink, they didn't seem annoyed but were instead helpful. Alex the manager was great too. I needed to give him a personal shout out for being so kind to me and my family. We came in on a Saturday and enjoyed it so much we came back for another round on Sunday!We had the fish tacos (grilled and fried), beef fajita nachos, burger, and the chips and queso. All were great. We will keep coming back each time we visit San Marcos!

Ordered bean and cheese nachos. Chips were stale and the order wasn't real hot when we were called up to get it. Staff were nice. Amenities wereGood.

Service was great. 1 star because my sandwich and my friends burger were burnt so bad it was inedible. When confronted with the food items we were told "they're college students.." After giving our order back, they offered us margaritas and made us pay for the sandwich anyways. Drink your margs literally anywhere else, preferably somewhere that can actually make a burger.

Fajita Nachos are super huge, enough for 2. The staff at the cashier are very nice and understanding since I'm Deaf. He even bring our food plates to our table. We definitely will go back again, from San Antonio Texas. Also margaritas are delicious!!!

Don't waste your money-There is a reason that there is no one at these tables. Spare yourself from the absolute worst food establishments I've had the displeasures of entering, don't go!Nachos were an absolute Horror show. Beans tasted old. Salsa bar was - well garbage sauce more than a salsa bar.This food should be on Gordon Ramsays Kitchen NightmaresThe ownership should be ashamed. I told one of the employees how we felt about the food (she was nice) but had the unmitigated gall to tell me that "it's a college town" implying that's why the food was bad.Don't waste your money here. Ownership - y'all need an intervention.

Maybe I'm biased but I have, and always will be, in love with the San Marcos Chimy's . They have amazing drink specials every day and are one of the places on the square where 1 margarita has me feeling GREAT! Hahaha. ( but really ... so much tequila.)I'm also a huge fan of their nachos. They come on a giant almost trash-can-like lid and you can fill them up with toppings at their topping bar free or charge . I definitely recommend this place for drinking more then eating , but if your doing both this is the place to do it !!!

We stopped in here for a late bite. They were out of a few different liquors, but the servers were able to make good recommendations. We both had quesadillas. They were piping hot, and tasty. The drinks were poured generously and the food was satisfying.

This place is a joke. Bartender was nice and efficient,she placed our order and served us our drinks at the same time. That's the only time we had an amazing experience. The micheladas were amazing! I got the steak fajita nachos and it was disgusting (I am not kidding). The meat and cheese tasted old. Looks like they used shredded cheese and had them microwaved and then put it on my plate. Or our food was at the expo for sometime. All in all, it was not appetizing. Staff was talking amongst each other while we (party of 5) were looking for a place to sit and the 1st three tables we approached were dirty.My friends were also disappointed in the poor quality of the food. While closing my tab, when the bartender asked if everything was okay we expressed to her that it was not delicious. Her excuse, I quote, "Well we are a college town anyway." Regardless or not a "college" town, you need to uphold the set standards of the owner to serve quality food. That should not be an excuse to serve horrible food. We were so excited when we saw the reviews and the pictures we saw from other people's surveys! Their food looked stunning. Don't waste your money here. If you're looking for a place to eat after a night of drinking and dancing, go to McDonalds. McDs has better food options and I dislike McDs.This was on Mother's Day. Fast forward to today Monday the 9th, I left work early due to a severe upset stomach and constantly throwing up last night's nachos. Currently in the loo typing this review. However, I would only go back for the drinks! Please don't mess that up. But you really need to improve your staff members in how to communicate with your guests and cooking the food. I understand that they are college students, but they are not there to socialize with each other for an easy paycheck. Pay attention to your guest!

If you're looking for a place to drink and hang then this place would work. But, if you want food with your dinks in a decent amount of time or if you want what you ordered don't bother. Our group all ordered separately up front and only 2 out of 10 had their correct order. I know it was a sat night but food still took such a lengthy amount of time that no one wanted to send anything back to try again.

I am 21 and they denied me bc my ID didn't look like me like bro. Sorry I glew up. So rude about it as well. Was really looking forward to Chimys.
