My first time here and I loved how homey it was. I came for an art event hosted by someone and we were in the room where it looks like they have a stage area. The servers were friendly and fast. I was almost overwhelmed with the baked foods selection. If I could I would have ordered a bite from each one. The vibe is laid back and chill. Good spot to come study, work, read, and Chat with a friend.

Stopped by for a cinnamon roll, ginger cookie, and tiramisu--and all I can say is yum, yum, and yum! This local neighborhood coffee shop has a great selection of pastries, making it the perfect spot for a sweet treat. Highly recommend!

Very cool coffee shop with large variety of baked goods including great pies. Coffee is good but not exceptional. Prices are reasonable for the quality. Very friendly and efficient staff. The ambiance is very cool, eclectic and new age. This is a cool neighborhood place to come relax or do some work on one's laptop. I'll definitely be back!

Excellent music, cookies, service, parking, etc. I love the Under the Rock series and the half price after eight o'clock bakery items.

What a homey coffee shop. Attended the yearly galentine speed friending. Had chai latte, spicy sweet perfection. The sound space room is closed off from the coffee shop. The hostess was friendly and kept the vibe chill. Great ambiance and thanks for the evening. Can't wait to do more events here.

Just the name alone brings a smile to my face. The original Captain Quackenbush's Intergalactic Dessert Company and Espresso Café owns the bragging rights for being "the first coffee shop in Austin". Even though the name and location have changed along with the times, it will forever hold a special place in my heart. Great coffee and a neighborhood feel that can't be beat. Trivia nights, movie nights, book clubs, board games, comedy shows -- you name it, they've got it. Delicious pastries (lots of choices for vegans, too!), great coffee, and friendly people make Quack's a great place to relax and chill out. Swing by the Menchaca Library next door to check out a new book while you're in the area!

I'll definitely return here. Their desserts look incredibly delicious, especially the "Eat My Feelings" one, which called to me. I'll have to come back just to try that one out. The cheese danishes we purchased were perfection. I had mine the next day, reheated it, and it was still delicious. The cream in the middle was just right--neither too dry nor too moist--and the Danish part was wonderfully flaky. Not to mention it was also massive. They also host events there, like the lively trivia night we saw during our visit. This place looks fantastic, and I'll be back to try more items from the menu. I'll be sure to update my review afterwards.

Captain Quack's is a fantastic local coffee shop with a cool, eclectic vibe. They've got a great selection of coffee and specialty drinks, and the service is top-notch - friendly and fast. The attached music venue is a major bonus, adding a unique energy to the place. Plus, their bakery case is packed with delicious treats! Whether you're looking for a place to work, relax with friends, or catch some live music, Captain Quack's has you covered.

You have got to visit! It's tucked inside a shopping center off Menchaca. We absolutely love it here (it's our second time) because the pastries are delicious, the chai is homemade, and there are lots of places to sit and work on your laptop for a while. Also the staff is super chill.Highly recommend you try a different sweet on every visit.

If I lived in Austin, I'd be a frequent flyer here :) loved everything about this place. The employees were so nice and friendly; offered detailed recommendations of everything they had to offer. And there's a ton of options for drinks, pastries, desserts here, something for everyone. My coffee was delicious, nice and strong, it was a TAD bit on the sweet side. My cookie was delicious, it was a salted oatmeal I believe. So chewy. I'll definitely be back to dry their other items!
