I had the crab stuffed flounder and it was possibly the best piece of fish I've ever had in my entire life. Mashed potatoes and green beans were good too, and the portions were great.I sat at the bar, and the bartender was very nice and attentive. He does need to lean his whiskeys tho.Would come back here for seafood any time.

As a seafood aficionado, I was really excited to try Café Blue. I'm always open to exploring restaurants that ride on the cusp between being exceptional (4-5 stars) and just average (3 stars). Unfortunately, my experience fell in the latter. The menu offers a wide variety that caters to every palate, but it feels like it's trying too hard...I ordered the Clam Chowder, Ceviche, and the Lump Blue Crab Cakes. My Clam Chowder arrived cold, along with the rest of our party's dishes. The service was slow, including the drinks, which didn't help the experience. I was expecting Truluck's or Eddie V's, but instead, it was giving something worse than Pappadeaux's...

Waited about 6 mins at the hostess station while staff looked at us and talked among themselves across the empty restaurant. Literally not one occupied table at an hour and a half before closing. Had to walk over and ask the bartender if she could seat us. Booths were covered in crumbs and food. She said, " I'm going to close this door by you because we have a party of 45 back there and it's allll women" and rolled her eyes. We were surrounded by tables covered in dirty dishes and a floor that was pretty dirty. After waiting a reasonable amount of time for someone to come to our table we finally got up to leave. The manager was behind the bar chatting with bartender. As we walked past he asked if everything was ok, we said no, told him about the wait, the dirty booths and dirty tables all around. He waved his hand toward the door and said have a nice night and turned his back. Obviously explains why the restaurant was empty. Avoid this place.

It takes a lot to get us to go downtown on a Saturday night due to traffic and parking concerns, but Cafe Blue was worth it. My husband said the Fat Ass Sea Bass was the best seafood he has had in Austin. I had the shrimp with crab stuffing land it was delicious. The other four guests had different dishes and salads and gave high ratings to each of them. Our server, Jemma , was attentive, friendly and effective, as were the rest of the staff. For some reason, there were few customers that night and I would give 5 stars for ambience. We were thrilled to be able to hear each other at a round table for 6- and most of us are over 70.

I went to this restaurant as a reservation was made on my behalf. The place was not very busy on a Wednesday evening but they did have half priced wine which was great.. As mentioned in other reviews, the service was incredibly slow but that wasn't too bad actually due to the good company and chatter. The dish I got was the crab stuffed flounder based on another Yelp review and it was delicious as stated in that Yelp review as well. Would recommend the dish specifically but could try another restaurant if you had the option.

The food was really good. We split the avocado and salmon toast. It was plenty to share and enjoy!

After being unable to secure reservations at several of our chosen restaurants we went here for its proximity and seafood selections on a Friday night around 6.The restaurant was eerily empty and quiet. We were seated at a large booth in the back after passing up on a high top in the bar area.Pleasantly surprised was the outcome! Started with shrimp cocktail that was cold and complimented by a nice cocktail sauce. Had the scallops for dinner with garlic mashed potatoes and green beans. Every aspect of the meal (down to the sauce) was fabulous! My companion had salmon and she too enjoyed her food. Service was average, but we left satiated and recommended the restaurant to someone the next day.

To have some a prime location in downtown Austin, I was a bit disappointed with my experience when I dined for #Afrotech23. The best part of my experience was the mussels. 10 out of 10. The soup and savory with a hint of sweetness. Plenty of mussels too. The stuffed shrimp meal lacked seasoning - don't be afraid of old bay. Mashed potatoes needed some salt and garlic powder.

Start or a road trip heading to Chicago for Thanksgiving. 1 st night stop is Austin, Tx to see Wynona . Zac was our server. He was outstanding and informative. Started with a doz oysters on half shell. Very fresh. Got a combination at Zac"s recommendation. I had the wedge salad and my partner had a cup of gumbo. Wedge salad was good with a twist of goldfish for crunch. The gumbo was very good, although my partner likes okra in his gumbo, which this did not have. I ordered the kick ass sea bass and my partner had the rosemary and artichoke pasta with shrimp. The sea bass was cooked to perfection. Flakey and moist. Teriyaki glaze with garlic mash and asparagus. Pasta was very good with well seasoned shrimp. Atmosphere is modern yet comfortable. Very "Austin like". I will definitely recommend stopping here. I will return!

This place was completely dead. Like DEAD. The host was also the waiter, and also the bartender--give the kid a raise. He was actually the best thing about this place. Broke down the menu and was very clear and confident on every plate on the menu. Kudos to him for that, so here's the first star. The Food, I mean look at my pictures. They weren't great. The Brussels sprouts I had alongside my stuffed shrimp were fried to a crisp. No nutritional value was left from these poor guys and the shrimp were just under cooked. The pasta wasn't terrible but with nobody else in the building, you'd think it would at least be warm. Oh and had the oysters as well, very fresh but is that the restaurant or the supply chain. I'll give them kudos for this hence the two stars. Overall, just not worth the time and money to dine here. There's so many other better seafood places here.
