Stopped by on Saturday night for a quick bite to eat and absolutely LOVED the vegan arepa. It was the perfect balance of sweet and savory ingredients - the plantains matched wonderfully with the tomato and avocado! - inside the yummy, flaky dough. The food truck is located in the Arbor Food Park, so plan to eat outside and one of the many picnic tables or take the food to go.I'm looking forward to coming back so that I can try more of the menu :)

I had the chance to try their tequeños over the weekend and had been thinking about them so much that I had a friend go and pick some up for us to enjoy at their house lol. The balance of cheese to flaky crust is perfection and I appreciate how every tequeños was oozing with cheese yet the pastry dough felt like it came fresh out of the oven. They're a great snack to enjoy or to pair with their menu which features arepas and plenty of other Venezuelan eats. The owners here are super nice and very passionate about bringing Venezuelan cuisine to the city. With plenty of picnic benches situated in Arbor Food Park, you can enjoy them fresh from the pickup window.

Boo literally just came for the first time to be told they don't have cachitos in a place called Cachitos 512. I live in Houston and just wanted some cachitos while here in Austin. It's a food truck in a sandy lot. Business owner replied rudely in Spanish saying "Venezuelans like me are the reason our country is the way it is". Defeats the point of having a platform for reviews if I'll just give you a good one because we are from the same place. I'm sure you're hard working people but maybe make it a point to have the item that is your namesake. Nothing I said was a lie or even a stretch. I could turn that comment around and say the same about you, sir. Instead, I choose the high road. Be professional y'all.

The empanada was among the best that I've ever had! I've never had this style - instead of dough, it had an extremely crispy shell, and a soft corn meal interior wrapping the meat. The combination of textures really hit the spot and the shredded beef was tender and full of flavor. Check this spot out!

These gluten-free empanadas are awesome! The crunch is perfect and the meat is seasoned just right. The woman at the front was so sweet and before I left said, "I hope you like it!" Turns out I LOVE it. These empanadas are delicious and we're everything I was looking for.

Excellent truck for Venezuelan food! Their Cachitos are delicious!! Very juicy and soft, service is great! I would say most authentic place in Austin for Venezuelan food.I will be back to try more items but their Cachitos are amazing!! Outdoor seating is plentiful, and the outdoor ambiance is great for families or even a simple date night.Highly recommend!

Holy flippin' arepa, y'all. Holy flippin' arepa! We've tried to find somewhere to go after leaving our favorite place behind in Vegas, and Cachitos is the place to go for arepas from here on out in Austin! I loved being able to eat food from here and feel safe with my gluten allergy. I had PLENTY of options for food, but we settled on the Reina Pepiada arepa and the chicken empanada. I was FLOORED. FLOORED.The empanada had a corn batter that was sweet but not heavy, and it worked perfectly with the chicken. Having a gluten allergy, it is hard to find GF empanadas, but Cachitos nailed it, and the empanada itself was HUGE! Easily enough for 2 people. The arepa? SO MUCH FILLING. Some may balk at the price, but I'm telling you, that arepa is STUFFED to the brim with deliciousness. STUFFED. The arepa was magic, y'all. MAGIC. Perfectly crisp, so delicious, sweet yet salty, and along with the filling, it was incredible. The arepa was legit big enough for 2 people as well; I couldn't finish it. Hubby happily obliged to assist with the arepa and empanada. Top it off with friendly staff, great location at the Arbor Food Truck park, and what a meal! Can't wait to go back again real soon! Worth the drive from where we live and then some!

Amazing food! The arepas have a soft, tasty 'bun'/exterior and are filled with flavorful and hearty meats. Very filling and delicious and pretty cheap too! The cachitas are also delicious. A friend showed me this place yesterday--he's Venezuelan and said the food as just like his mom used to make and as good as the Venezuela food you get in Miami. Never had his mom's cooking or Venezuelan food in Miami, but I believe it! It was delicious.

Highly recommended! We are addicted to Cachitos512's DELICIOUS cheese empanadas. They are seriously mouth-watering -- with a beautiful, perfectly golden brown, crisp & crunchy crust surrounding a generous filling of tasty, melty cheese. So. Freaking. Good!Also, don't miss out on their fresh juice of the day. Passion fruit and mango are our two faves.Definitely our favorite spot in the Arbor Food Park!

Finally got a chance to visit Cachitos512. Last time I went they were closed, and I didn't realize they had an Instagram page where they notified about that. Their Arepas are FANTASTIC, and Hanoi and her husband are really nice people. It was a pleasure going there. I hope to be back soon, and I wish them much success in their endeavor.
