They have (let's just call it) a hundred beers on tap and more in bottles. Tons. You could die of alcohol poisoning ten times before trying every beer on the menu. The place is huge with tons of mostly outdoor seating but they also have a little indoor too. Friendly service, large portions and it rains beer. I'm a fan."

We could see the mechanical bull on the other side of the room. Both dared the other to try it out. But after eating and a drink. Was not a good idea. We both bailed on that date. Next time, before we eat and drink, I'm taking that bet, and I'm gonna own it."

Chris P. "If you're looking for an upscale vibe but with entrees that are good but nothing out of this world, it's a really good spot for this. Service is really good, with great waiting staff! We got the 3 cheese plate that I would highly recommend, I'm personally not a huge cheese guy but was really impressed especially with the local honey and homemade berry spread that went with the cheeses. Also, I like how they were not traditionally simple cheeses like a Mild cheddar or plain Parmesan. Although expensive, you were paying for quality cheese, five stars. My fiancee really enjoyed her aperol spritz which was in a pretty large glass and was strong! As for our main dishes, we both had the Alla Crema. It was pretty good and all tasted very much homemade/scratch which is good considering the higher prices for the portion sizes. I wasn't blown away by the flavor but it was decent.I think the biggest thing is the higher pricing here without your socks really been blown off on the entrees, albeit I've only had one so maybe other dishes do!Overall, came out spending $133 with one mixed drink, a cheese board, and two entrees. A little steep for Italian in my opinion.Given the higher price point, I would only see myself coming back for the happy hour prices which are solid, half off on the cheeseboard and great deals on drinks! I'm also a little more bias on Italian as well since I grew up my entire life in New Jersey around a lot of super good yet reasonable priced Italian food."

Has always been a great spot for happy hour; however, their recently revamped menu and deals are off the charts awesome!Over several visits, I have made my through the entire app menu. I highly recommend the crispy ribs, curried mussels, truffled beef tips...heck all of it! Scrumptious! And of course raw oysters when in season. Peel and eat shrimp is an easy choice as well. HAPPY HOUR available in entire restaurant and patio Mon - Fri 3-6pm AND reversed on Fri & Sat 9-10pm. 1/2 off apps, oysters, pae shrimp...and draft beers, select wines by the glass, and their killer sig cocktails. A nice place to enjoy lunch or dinner, but the HH is what keeps me coming back. I'm hooked (pun intended; haha). They moved to a different spot years ago in the HCG. Still nice interior ambience. The large side patio is great for outdoor dining and always has a breeze during the warm months."

Isaac C. "Southern Fixe is a gem in Austin that knows how to serve up Southern Louisiana comfort. My visit was made even better by the accommodating staff, who went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. Their warmth and attentiveness added to the overall experience. They accommodated us with deviled eggs which was whipped and dressed to perfection. The highlight of the meal was their biscuits--soft with a perfect crumble, paired with whipped butter and apple preserves. It was the ultimate fall comfort food, simple yet bursting with flavor. I also tried the Brussels sprouts, and they did not disappoint. Cooked to perfection, they were glazed with a sweet sauce that had just the right amount of heat. This "sweet heat" flavor made the dish standout. The fish and chips dish was okay, but only because I'm not the biggest catfish fan. Otherwise it was well seasoned and the fries and hush puppies were great.Southern Fixe delivers both in food and hospitality, making it a must-visit for anyone looking for Southern classics done right. I'll definitely be back!"

Ruben C. "Great new addition to the greater Buda/Kyle metroplex area and just what beer geeks like me here needed. No more running up too ATX, San Marcos, or SA to try great, local, craft beer.By local, they really mean it. They are trying to get brews that are local to the Buda area. And while they may carry a tap or two from breweries in Austin/SA, they really want to spotlight breweries that are not Austin or SA based, really defining "drink local." We went during their soft opening and they had a steady, if not busy stream of customers, which all managed to get served timely and had their questions answered (some customers were new to the craft beer scene). Really look forward to coming back here and setting their additions (outdoor seating). No food as of yet but you can bring your own or call it in (pro tip: there's a Papa John's next door and a Thai restaurant a block away)Looking forward to many more pints at this new hang out spot in the 78610."

We sat outside on a chilly night but the heaters kept us sufficiently warm. The fries were a standout: delicious and very garlicy. Enjoyed the other dishes too, and the sangria was fruity and sweet. Definitely on the pricier side, $70 ish for 3 apps and 1 drink. The dishes are thoughtfully crafted, offering a unique twist on traditional Mexican cuisine. Their drink menu is just big enough to have something for everybody, and the Mexican martini is a must-try--perfectly made! However, the space is a bit small, and it can get crowded, especially during peak hours, so make reservations or plan for a wait. Additionally, is a bit on the pricier side, which might not make it an everyday choice. Despite these minor downsides, the overall experience is great, and the quality of the food makes it well worth a visit. That swipe card is your lifeline, as it will give you all the wines you want. The wines are divided by country and types. Depending on your selection, you'll be able to see the name of the wine with a thorough description on the screen. Once you've made your final decision, you'll place your card on the slot, and turn the spout. I absolutely love the endless possibilities that await here."

Would you expect such a high caliber entree from a location tucked into a strip mall alongside 290? No of course not, BUT within 5 minutes of exchanging small talk with the very welcoming female owner, I learned that the place has a serious LEGIT provenance as the family had a well-established restaurant in NYC for years. You can tell. From the first bite of gnocchi I knew she was absolutely telling me the truth. Where this place excels - cozy up to the bar and enjoy a glass of wine with the best Italian food in Hill Country - maybe even all of Austin. It has that cozy family feel at the bar. Dining room looked little sterile and loud, but the service appears on point. They are clearly doing the best they can with the space. The bar section and takeout is where I'll no doubt be regular. Rodrigo B. "Chef Fiore Tedesco's L'Oca d'Oro is an Italian neighborhood restaurant that celebrates the traditions of Italian cuisine but innovates in a surprising way with whimsical dishes and surprising combinations. Located in Austin Texas, Chef has painstakingly created a fixed and standard menu that provides folks an opportunity to try many dishes or follow a path along a curated trajectory Chef Fiore Tedesco has selected. The fresh mozzarella and cima di rapa (w/ parmigiano & anchovy) are delightful and standard dishes as appetizers and carry that tradition; but it's the daring combinations like the beet cashew dip that open up your imagination. I was lucky to try several dishes when we dined and was surprised and in awe of many of the dishes including the spaghetti alla limone which was a very different take with its lime kosho & grana padano; airy and fresh, it resonated with everyone who tried it. Other standouts included the chicken milanesa marsala, the blue moon panna cotta, and the pistachio chocolate chip cookie.Chef Tedesco's philosophy of creating everything in house is seen in the freshness and quality of the ingredients. Chef Tedesco has founded a memorable restaurant but more importantly has created a consistency that is hard to replicate. It's this constant commitment that drives not only the quality but the passion of L'Oca d'Oro.Even more impressive is the philosophy of his restaurant; from L'Oca d'Oro's website:"All of our dishes are prepared with sustainable, locally grown produce and meats--a reflection of a farm-to-table philosophy that extends to our handmade pasta, cheese, salumi, bread, vinegars and liqueurs. We care for our team members by including a 20% pre-tax service charge to guarantee a base wage of at least $17/hr, Direct Primary Care, PTO & low costcounseling for our entire team. Since 2016, L'Oca has paid above the federal minimum wage, accompanied by benefits like healthcare and retirement plans. During crises, L'Oca prioritizes community health and social justice, collaborating with organizations like Good Work Austin, co-founded by L'Oca owners, and Lilith Fund, setting an example for culinary excellence and positive societal impact through unwavering dedication to quality and responsibility."In 2018, Chef Fiore Tedesco spoke on behalf of restaurants before the City Council in defense of a paid sick leave ordinance. In 2019, he and his co owner the pair co-founded Good Work Austin to continue pushing for increased pay, better benefits, and now improved family practices. Thanks to those efforts, L'Oca D'Oro earned its reputation as a leader for redefining industry standards. At a panel discussion, he discussed the recent election and how so many folks within Good Work Austin now had a tension, unsure of what changes have come. Chef addressed this and his words were comforting to folks like myself who understand the challenges in the restaurant industry and the community who works in it, namely the hundred if not thousands he represents in Austin."I very rarely straight up copy paste website info on a post but this summarizes Chef's goals with his restaurant. To have such a high standard for the ingredients, the staff, and the culture shows how wonderful L'Oca d'Oro."

Mike M. "Had a really great dinner at Wink tonight. First time I'd eaten there in a quite a few years, but it has improved over the last dozen years or so, which is no small accomplishment as it was already quite good. We had the five course tasting menu. Every single course was very good, ad several were outstanding. I had the wine pairings with every course, which was very, very reasonable at $60 -- or only $12 per course. O was frankly concerned that the wine would t be up to snuff given the low price, but every curse was at East void, ad three were outstanding. The cobia poke with avocado, cilantro, radish, and baby limas was as an absolute standout. The scallops on polenta with baby carrots, sorrel, and roasted garlic-pine nut sauce was quite good and the Napa Sauvignon blanc was a great pairing. Perhaps the second best course after the cobia was the duck breast on porcini mushroom, chicories, peewee potato and sauce bigarade. The duck was a perfect medium rare. My partner, who didn't get the wine pairings ordered a glass of Lioco Pinot Noir, and they thoughtfully up my wine to the same wine, which was an excellent pairing. Steak with a berry gastrique was the final corse, and was quite good. The paring with that course, a 2020 Costers del Priorat Pissarres Grenache/Carignon punched way above its price and was outstanding. A combo dessert of crème brulée, lemon meringue pot de creme, & el rey chocolate cake we're all good. But it was elevated beyond its already very good status by a crème brulée, lemon pot de creme (with amazing home candied lemon peel) was elevated by the 2016 Lions de Suduiraut Sauternes. Lion de Suduiraut is the second wine of Chateaux Suduiraut, but it didn't taste like a second wine. Tasting menu was only $120, which is a bargain given the quality. The wine list is thick with well chosen wines under $100. Nit in their web site, but they also have a modestly sized reserve list (though it's not called that) that has a small, but we'll selected group of wines from $90up to the high $200 range. Very few trophy wines, but they all look to be well priced and designed to complement the food. Service was excellent. As good a meal as I've had in Austin in many years."
