"I was relieved to find an Ethiopian restaurant in the Austin/Round Rock area as it is something that is not easy to find in many other parts of the country. The restaurant is easy to find in a small strip and the decor is full of Ethiopian culture. The ambiance is clean and the restaurant is nicely sized. Service is good and servers are friendly. Be patient as it'll take some time to get your food, but it is definitely worth it. They have many vegetarian and meat options, depending on what you like. I got one of the beef tibs and kitfo (raw tartare) which goes great with their traditional Injera bread (teff flour based). I recommend trying a few different dishes, so you can find what you like. They also sell Ethiopian coffeeFood is reasonably priced, filling, and delicious"
"Great food, I get the spring rolls , the Thai chicken wings, and the Pa Nang Thai curry. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Been going here for years. Definitely my go-to Thai food place."

"Located on the right side of SummerMoon and Optimal Eye care! My friends and I went at 11:30 and customers were steadily coming in, many of which were Indian, perhaps those who are familiar with the similarly named Dana Bhazar market on the other side of SummerMoon. Dishes came out around 5-10 minutes later, hot and tasted great. Not pictured is the pani puri, which I had for the first time and loved it!The owner was friendly as well, chatting with some customers/recognizable faces and asking how our meal was!TLDR definitely worth a try, especially if you're in the area and even if you're from further away! I think the food quality makes it good competition for the area.7 - 7.5/10 fabs"
"In a world of savory and delicious bites, expand your horizon with Dosa Shack's Indian cuisine. The heart of Dosa Shack centers around dosas but their menu is so much more! What has stood out to me every time is their consistency of flavors and presentation. I enjoy and appreciate that their menu has a wide range of spice for your personal palette. What really makes my inner kid smile are their doffles. They are the perfect balance of savory and sweet and the use of rose in their rose caramel sauce and the cheese filling (somewhat similar to a brioche or crepe filling) is so smart. The owners are super sweet here and everything is set to be captured for social media. Enjoy the few tables they have right next to the food truck! It's perfect for a cute and casual date or if you and a few friends want to expand your palette. You can't miss it with the pink and green vibes!"
"I had higher hopes for a 14/15.00 salad.Highlights-friendly staff-fresh ingredients-little to NO wait during peak lunch time-plenty of parking-you can make your own salad OR pick one of the curated ones on the menuWe had the mad ceasar (dressing on the side)TY Cobb- good but super overdressed. Not sure if that is the brand or TX style? We are used to a lighter dressed salad which maybe more west coast style salads. House made hummus and fresh pita. Pita was delish.. warm, chewy. The hummus (red pepper) was under seasoned. Tasted just like plain hummus minus any garlic, salt or depth of flavor. Drinks. 7.00 fresh juices. It was OK. We are fans of pressed juices and this fell short for the cost. They also have a soda station and teas. They have"
"Starch, starch, starch, starch and starch.Outside of a few Portuguese and Hungarian bakeries,Starch has never tasted so good.* * *Desilicious is a small Southern Indian cafe.Think of it as a snack version of Sangam ChettinadWithout most of the meat and vegetable dishes but with most of the carbs.BUT OMG WHAT CARBS!Dosas to die for!Vadas and Idlis in sauces that will send you to paradise and back.Sweet pancake desserts that your divine mother made for you in your earlier life!I came out of there supremely happy and stuffed to the absolute gills. If you go,Prudence would suggest that you order one and only one dish, No matter what part of the menu that dish appears in.You may not want to be prudent. If you can't fit into your car after you finish eating here,Have someone go buy you a bigger car.Five Stars All The Way On A Stick!"
"I just became vegan earlier this week & been craving a burger so I found Arlo's late night (11 PM) for my first vegan cheeseburger ever. Nice to have the crave-able options!Actually enjoyed the 'Bac'N Cheeze Burger.' The taste was excellent with the twang of mustard & you couldn't honestly tell it was vegan except that the bacon seemed kinda wimpy. I also thought the additional condiments were way too minimal instead of ample. Where's the crispy lettuce??? I don't have any at all on my take-out burger, maybe it was forgotten? A small thin tomato only two lame mutilated pickles (my fav) weren't enough. Guess next time I'll know to ask for extra.Wins: overall size & taste of burger & the ample dose of perfectly made tater tots. Plus crew friendliness & service & speed with fair prices.Cons: condiment amounts & bacon weren't anything to crow about. No air conditioning (it's outside & hot in TX). One ketchup isn't enough for the awesome tots portion, 2 would be perfect.Overall I'd go back & get a double, & hopefully raise my star rating."
"Madgreens is absolutely my favorite place for a healthy meal! I have both the both the wraps and the salad. And I haven't been disappointed ever.My two favorites are the Ty Cobb and The Spicy bacon, you can get both in salad or wrap and customize as you want! The staff have always been friendly and are all versed in ingredients and sauces and suggestions. The ambiance is very cute and open!"
"This Indian restaurant was the very first Indian eatery I visited upon moving to Austin. The food is incredibly delicious, and the service is exceptional.Food (10/10): I would highly recommend the Hakka noodles, Gobi Manchurian, Samosa Chaat, Chole Bhatura, Vada Pav, Pav Bhaji, Papdi Chaat, and Bombay Sandwich. The Falooda was amazing as well. Service (9/10): The food came out almost immediately and the portion sizes were great! You have to go up to the counter and order and they bring the food to you. Ambiance (5/10): Very casual dinning place! I will continue to come here!"

We came here a little before 5:00 p.m. Outside the place did not look promising but at least inside it was empty. But the food was pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty, good. (Channel your inner Larry David here.)Boyfriend recommended we try the Tej, a fermented honey wine with notes of balsamic vinegar with the cloying sweetness of a Gewurtraminer. It was perfect for the food. I loved the spongy bread. The service was great and I liked the woodsy spicy smell of a Cost Plus.Planning on going to more Ethiopian restaurants in the future. I like eating with my hands.

Delicious food served here!We were met by warm and friendly staff who helped us select from the generous menu options. This place might be like a meal at my Grandmother's if she were Indian. Indian home cooking at its best. A 5 star review to reflect the excellence we encountered here. Well worth a return visit!

Dosa with a twist? Yes, a unique South Indian-Texan collab food. When my Austin trip was finalized, I did some research about the best places to eat near the place I stayed. Dosa Shack popped up, noticed it due to the name, of course. I ignored it since it's a food truck. But eventually I ended up experiencing their food. It's a South Indian food truck - but the food is given a unique Texas twist. Their recipes are South Indian rooted, but the ingredients & preparation are altered to invent these new dishes. They have verity of dosas served with different chutneys, Sandwiches, Street bites aka Chaats, Drinks and Desserts. One of their Dosa options is the Original dosa, but it has parmesan in it. Rest of them were modified. We decided to try the Devil Veggie and the Jack of All. Also ordered the Samosa Nachos from the Street food section. They prepare the food once the order is placed. It took around 15 minutes for the food to come out. The dosas were served with 2 different chutneys and Lentil soup. Tomato chutney is their Mild option and the Ginger chutney is the Hot one. Cherry tomato Lentil soup is medium spicy. Ginger chutney - ridiculously good. Goes well with the dosa and add tons of flavor to it.The Devil Veggie - stuffed with vegetables sautéed with schezwan sauce. It had big flavor and spiciness by default. With chutneys, a real deal. The Jack of all constructed with the tropical fruit - Jack Fruit. It's the tender jack fruit used for this along with other spices and curry leaves. The dosa is stuffed with that Masala and it's fabulous! It gave me nostalgia about my homeland! Worth every penny for it! The Samosa nachos is another twist added to the famous Indian street food. It's Jalapeño cheese samosas served with herb yogurt and salsas! Loved it! Big kudos to the brain behind this concept. But to pull this off doing all the justice to the concept? Deserves a big applause! Loved the concept, Loved the food! I hope they will add more trucks so that people get to enjoy their amazing food! Service was top! Can I give SIX STARs? Highly recommended!

MAD Greens is similar to Salata and Sweetgreen. They offer salads that have pre-selected ingredients or you can build your own. I wanted to build my own salad until I realized that it costs extra if you add more than 4 ingredients. I love veggies and knew I would exceed that, so I went with one of their pre-selected salads. I tried the Ty Cobb Salad and swapped the blue cheese dressing with Caesar dressing. The employee who made my salad was nice, but she accidentally added salt to my salad when I had asked for pepper only. Luckily it wasn't too salty. I enjoyed the salad, especially the avocado. The large salad is only a $1 more. It is pretty filling, but it's not as big as the large salad at Salata. I'm glad that I was finally able to try MAD Greens. It hasn't dethroned my favorite place, but it is a nice option when I'm not in the mood to make the trek up to North Austin.

If you're missing the small neighborhood cafes from back home, in India and that also have a very personalized taste and service - then look no further! This is it! Desilicious cafe is a fresh addition that was much needed to expand Austin's Indian food offerings. The place is really nice, to sit down and experience nostalgia through the food. If you like Puran poli, definitely give it a try!! Highly recommended!

Great food and fast service! The jalapeño ranch is a must try! The chikn used tastes a bit like a veggie burger, which may have some appeal to those not ready for a full fledged meat substitute. There are some outdoor seating areas, but probably better off eating in a car during this hot weather.

Visited from out of state. Good friendly service. Salad was yummy. Gluten free options are available. Think I got contaminated because I was sick after.

"My friend and I were on a walk around Mueller and stumbled across the Conscious Cravings truck. A smoothie sounded so good in the heat, so we ordered the mango smoothie. It was ready in less than five minutes, and then we were on our way! The menu is displayed clearly on the side of the truck, making it nice and easy to make your selection. There is only one person servicing the truck, but he is quick and very friendly. The person after us also ordered the same mango smoothie, so perhaps it is a fan favorite!"
"This review is very near and dear to my heart for many reasons. Firstly, this food truck is ran by the nuns at Huê Lâm temple! My family goes to this temple and these were the same nuns who led the funeral procession at my aunt's funeral. The head nun built the food truck from the ground up with her savings and the temple survives off of donations and the nuns and volunteers' hard work. So, all of the proceeds of this food truck also goes straight to supporting the temple. :)Definitely check this food truck out even if you are not vegan/vegetarian. The price is super reasonable and the food is delicious. My Vietnamese mother and relatives love this spot since this is the same food that is cooked for temple-goers. Now, they can have it whenever they want. There is plenty of parking space in the lot. Once parked, just follow the signs to the truck in the back. It is not loud at all so it's a great spot for a peaceful and quiet lunch. There is not a lot of seatings so I recommend ordering take-away. Also, they take both card and cash! Try out all of the dishes - you will not be disappointed.Lastly, visit their website for any updates before going. They close from time to time for religious reasons and/or repairs to the truck: https://www.bodhivietvegans.com/"
"Needed a last minute lunch stop and Arepitas fit the bill! We stopped at an in between time (2 PM) which can be risky sometimes. This delicious Venezuelan food, was fun, fresh, and fantastic start to finish. Love the visual menus, I'm a visual learner and educator by trade so I love the ability to see what everything looks like before I order! We had a Bowl and an Arepita, both were ridiculously good. Layers of colors, flavors, and textures the combinations were perfection! My son ordered some fries which were hot and extra crispy. I'd recommend ordering a variety of the sauces. We loved the garlic and house special sauce the most! It's great drizzled or for dipping. Service with a smile and a fun and friendly atmosphere."
"Great spot to stop for lunch. The birria tacos were like cheesy shredded beef quesadillas with this yummy dip. The elote corn was cheesy and delicious. Guac good too. Margarita was tasty too. Liked the 2 taco and side combo."
"Service was good but had some unusual rules, like how many sides you can order per entree. I would have liked to try more sides but o well. Everything tasted good. Not my usual pick but it was good and interesting and mixed things up."
"THE most incredible breakfast sandwich I've ever had the pleasure of eating (Pulled pork + egg). The lady who served us was so kind and friendly and the chef gave us each a little taste of something extra with our meal. My friend had the chicken and waffles and it was slammin too. If you love yourself, please try this food truck. You will not be sorry."
"My favorite food truck of all time!!! Perfect food, service, ambiance. Portions are fantastic and food is uniquely delicious, fresh, and healthy. The soup is phenomenal, fluffy, tasty. After eating, you feel energized and satisfied, not lethargic and heavy. If I was local, I'd eat here as much as I possibly could."
"Very lovely vegetarian based Indian food and dishes in a clean, well lit environment. Service was very good, no frills but we were seated in a small booth, and the menu and specials were shared with us promptly. We ordered the thali, dosa and a few appetizers which all came out quickly. I loved the assortment of my thali, South Indian dishes, which all were very flavorful and spicy :) It's the perfect pick for a gal like me who is very food indecisive lol. My husband's dosa was a safe pick for him on his low spice tolerance and the dipping sauces accompanied were all very well balanced too!Great find off of parmer, reasonable prices and swift to get food into you, what's not to love about Suprabhat? Will be back!!"
"Mr. Natural has a massive selection of vegan baked goods! I've had cupcakes, cake, and apple pie and all were very good. The staff were super helpful when I needed a last-minute order and were able to accommodate. The vibe in the restaurant is super casual, mom-and-pop style. I ordered the Vegan Tofu Migas Plate (to go) and while it was tasty, really wish there was more tofu and less chips."
"I doordashed MAD Greens and was really impressed with the packaging and quality of food. (Great for keeping leftovers!) I highly recommend the trio hummus plate. I loved all 3 flavors and it made a good snack throughout the night. Only suggestion - skip the rice, it was too much of the bowl, but everything else was perfection."
"What a cute little spot on 1st street. It's a nice walking neighborhood, lots of stores and restaurants, even a food truck park. Not a lot of good parking. But once you find parking, walk around, get to know the little places along 1st street. Came Sunday for brunch. Around noon. Wait time was about 20 minutes. Not long at all. They have inside and outside dining. It was such a gorgeous day, we sat outside. The outside area is covered. And they do have big fans in the corners hung up high. A lot of great drinks to choose from and delicious meals too. The whole place inside and out smelled so good. I got a mimosas and the garden breakfast. Mimosa was perfect. The meal was scrambled eggs and sliced tomatoes with steamed spinach. Slightly wilted. Perfectly done. And a sliced of lemon to squeeze over the spinach. Which I loved. Nice light breakfast and clean ingredients. I absolutely love this patterned plate! I must have! Because I had such a light breakfast I dove right into that dessert. A blueberry lavender pie with vegan vanilla ice cream. Oh WOW! Did that hit the spot. The lavender was light and just in the background. But that blueberry was bursting with flavor. The ice cream was delicious as well. Such a good meal. And for a first timer, great experience. Our server was so patient. We took a long time to order. And we stayed for so long after our meal. Thank you so much for being so kind."
"This place is a hidden gem! I originally placed my order online, but when I got there I found out their tablet that does the online orders was down. No worries! I re-ordered from the nicest gentleman at the front for the 2 folks in my office (& of course I got something too). I ordered them the Fried Idli and Aloo Tiki and I got the Samosas and Mango Lassi. Everything came out hot, fresh and absolutely fantastic! The samosas come w this sauce made out of dates but it's sweet and DIVINE! I could have eaten the sauce solo it was so good! My mango lassi was also perfect consistency and just sweet enough. My staff enjoyed their food and said the fried Idli was VERY good! Hot fresh, crispy on the outside and pillowy soft on the inside. Please give this place a try if you're around! You will not be disappointed!"
