"My favorite go to place for a quick lunch. Love the Peanut Butter smoothie!! The owner was my neighbor in south Austin and peddled his soup on a bicycle. The menu is extensive featuring soups and salads. Staff is always great. Don't be surprised if there's a line out the door Saturday morning. Best time to go is around 11:00 am."
"(It is important to note in reference to this restaurant's present rating that it is based in part on prior ownership before 2022: since that time the restaurant is a substantially different place with greatly improved food and service. This is evident in the elevation of the reviews after that time.)Wok On Fire is a very good value for fresh, hot American Chinese food. The chicken wings are some of the best in the city, both fried and 'spicy'. The pork dumplings are very good--especially at that price--and the soups are always good and hot. There are other trad American Chinese dishes on the menu, but I usually succumb to the temptation to order the wings or the dumplings, with some of their soups.Ambience is plain and austere (food-to-go is big here), but the people who work here are helpful and friendly.A GREAT VALUE--RECOMMENDED"

"Their smoothie is definitely a mood booster! I have tried their Golden Ticket, Dancing Bear and Nina Simone. I love the little kick cayenne pepper adds to Dancing Bear and the eucalyptus flavor that the cardamom brings into Golden Ticket, so I would recommend trying these two if you are looking for something sweet and fun to drink. The juice bar decor is also captivating! I would literally recommend anyone who enjoys unfettered imagination from art come visit this place and try out a smoothie which sounds interesting to them."
"I love Soup Peddler! My favorite items are Green Detox Soup and vegan\GF grilled cheese. The staff are always nice and helpful, thank you!"
"Soup was good although most of the menu was so out my only complaint is their delivery service charge is crazy for a cup up soup that shows up in a drink cup :/"
"A little hesitant because there were no other patrons and the waitstaff didn't understand/speak much English, but let me tell you, they couldn't have been more nicer. With language barrier, I used the Notepad app on my phone to type out the number/order and she was so appreciative. We are truly the appreciative ones, though! The sushi was fresh, amazing, and this is now my favorite spot for sushi in this area. I tried a few other high star places and wasn't impressed with taste or quality, but A Go Go is special"
"First time trying this place out since it replaced Charm. I think it's definitely an improvement as far as non ayce korean food goes (only tried the regular menu today). It's clean and super spacious now. There was a separation between the regular diners and the ayce kbbq-ers which was considerate. We got the Kimchi and Beef Soft Tofu Jjigae as well as the Cold Noodles + Spicy Pork Bulgogi combo. The Banchan was good--i really liked their kimchi, fishcakes, and japchae. The cucumbers were alright...the mayo-y dish was a no for me, but that's mostly because i'm just anti-mayo. The fried croaker only comes with the jjigae. Onto the entrees--i really liked my tofu jjigae--perfect amount of delicate tofu, great flavor (med spice was perfect for me), and a carefully cracked soft yolk egg. There was a TON of beef in my soup which was good. However, there was no kimchi at all...i'm wondering if they just forgot to put it in the bowl or had a mistake in the order. Regardless, i still enjoyed it. Bonus, the side of rice came in a hot metal pot and got a bit of crisp on the edges. For the combo meal, the portions were massive! We had a ton of leftover pork and didn't finish the giant bowl of noodles. The spicy pork bulgogi was good, but didn't have that nice char at the bottom--also wasn't quite spicy either. Korean cold noodles aren't quite my thing, but flavor was solid. The entree combos are definitely quite worth with the amount of food that they give you. Service was friendly. Will definitely be back another day!"
"Nothing hip or fancy here, folks, just reasonably priced, authentic Korean dishes, made-to-order and fast. Think basic soups, noodles, rice dishes, and banchan (sides / pickles). Other neighboring stalls have come & gone over time, but Yoree seems to have enough fans to stick around. We've been eating here for years when we have a craving for dolsot bibimbap (#27, spelled Dol Sot Bi Bim Bab on the posted menu, currently listed at $12 up from $9 during the pandemic, still a bargain) and don't want to get dressed up or wait too long to eat. If you haven't yet had the pleasure, the "dolsot" part of the name means this flavorful rice meal is served in a scorching hot rock or ceramic pot that will continue to caramelize the bottom layer of rice as you devour the assortment of veggies, fungi, pickles, proteins, and sauce from the top. If you get the included runny egg garnish (and you should), be sure to work some of that yolk down to the bottom rice for an extra treat in the crisped rice, aka socarrat (Spanish) or nurungji (Korean), that you'll scrape up at the end of the meal.Bonus is that we can do some quick shopping for groceries and household goods at Hana World Market next door, then pickup a great tea and dessert at the stand in the front entrance on the way out the door. - Phone-in orders and take-out available.- Cash only at the order counter, but you can pay with credit card inside the grocery store.- Open 11a-8:30p daily.- Masks required for entry to the food court and store."
"I stopped by last night to grab some food to go.....Let's go!Lobster fried rice Lobster fried rice has an amazing robust flavor. This lobster fried rice is made with lobster tails, jasmine rice, veggies, and a few other simple ingredients. The lobster is really designed to be the star of the show, but it gets a lot of help from all the flavors working with it in every bite. The lobster for the dish is a bit light on taste but as noted above the corn, onion and light spices make the dish work. In the future, I'd elect to purchase the crab fried rice as it may be sweeter in taste than the lobster. Salt and pepper shrimp The shrimp for this dish were tender. To achieve this tenderness, the shrimp must be marinated and after marinating, the shrimp are quickly blanched in hot oil until they are cooked through. This process forms a thin coating around the shrimp, sealing in moisture and preventing them from becoming tough or rubbery during further cooking in stir-fries or other dishes. The salt and pepper seasoning on the shrimp coupled with jalapenos, fresh carrot and onion took this dish up a notch. This to-go meal from order to packing took approximately 15 minutes (love the expeditiousness of this establishment) and costs $42.17 before tip. #supportlocal"
"Great food and service from Maya! Delicious flavors from all over India. Lamb is good. Delicious vegetarian soups as well."
"On a Friday, I arrived around 5 PM, and there was no line. The service was nice and timely.P08. Eye Round Steak, Flank, Meatballs - $15 (4.5/5)The portion is generous, and the soup is light yet flavorful. For pho, you can upgrade to a large for an additional $2.50.A02. Shrimp Spring Rolls - $6 (3/5)There's a good amount of shrimp, and the peanut sauce is sweet and well-balanced. I even dipped my eye round steak in it, and it tasted great! However, the rice paper was a bit hard. This is my second time ordering it, and both times, the rice paper was tough. This place is bright and clean. It's a super popular pho spot, and there can be a line during peak hours on weekends."
"Great service. Tasty menu.Lomo - 5/5Chocolate Cake w/ Maracuya - 5/5Service was fantastic. Super friendly and great recommendations. Food came out really quick. Steak was cooked perfectly. Tender and juicy. Garlic rice was delicious. Cake was really good as well. Nice combo with the chocolate and maracuya."

First time trying The Soup Peddler and I was pleasantly surprised. The restaurant has an assortment of choices...smoothies, grilled cheese sandwiches and of course, soups! I got a small strawberry banana smoothie and turkey and rice soup. I love smoothies and I was especially taken by the robust flavor of my smooth without the eye-squinting sweet taste...yum!!! My soup from the cup looked a bit oily, but that was deceptive because when I ate it was smooth as silk. The tomatoey flavor was rich and flavorful. It reminded me of a cuban soup I had in Miami. The Soup Peddler on Far West Blvd. has a small amount of seating inside and more seating outside. On a sunny day like today, it would be pleasant to sit outside. My cashier was very friendly and helpful with my choices. Looking forward to returning and trying more items...

Had a great experience with take out for the whole family. The chicken lo mein was strong, shrimp w veggies fresh and snappy, and the egg rolls on point. Whole family of four ate well for $35 with a take out tip. Victory! This poor place is getting battered by picky reviews. Is it the best Chinese? Certainly not, but it's clean, approachable and high value.

I only tried the smoothie but it was amazing! So many options to choose from, but I went with the classic PB banana. So refreshing. The worker was really nice and gave recommendations. I also tried the "shot the the heart" drink. It was spicy, but I did it for #health. The inside is decorated with signs and little butterflies. It's a casual environment. This location is in a shopping plaza so there's plenty of parking.

The Soup Peddler has been in Austin since he was just a guy making soup at home and delivering it on a bicycle. Now he's expanded to several locations around town, and we were pleased to see this one on an excursion to the east side. The original recipe soups vary seasonally and we've found all to be to our liking, vegetarian dishes especially. Soup comes in various sizes with a side of French bread stick or oyster crackers. They do have sandwiches and smoothies and several gluten free and vegan offerings in each category. They also offer a few healthy juice shots. I've attached photos of their current menus. This location has a private parking lot and a few tables outside and inside, with a counter facing the outside window in addition. Nothing fancy, but the food is great. The perfect spot to grab something to warm up on a chilly winter afternoon or to cool off on a hot summer day. Addictive, for sure.

Man, this was the perfect spot for cold weather food! I was told their vegan and gluten-free grilled cheese was fantastic, so I stopped to get it for my wife. She loved it along with their chicken and rice soup. I got the regular grilled cheese on sourdough, which was good with the tomato basil. The tomato basil was unlike any other, and very flavorful. Their green detox blended veggies sounded interesting so they gave me a sample. I loved it! You really feel like you're getting your veggies in, but in an enjoyable way. The person who helped me was super friendly and helpful. She wasn't pushy at all but offered samples of anything I was wondering about. The food came out quick but not so fast that the sandwiches seemed pretty-made and reheated. Everything was fresh and warm. Place seemed clean. Pretty basic for eating in, but cold weather food should really be taken home and enjoyed under a blanket anyways!

The Good: Really friendly service and great ambience. The food was also not too salty and tasted really fresh. The Bad: Even though we got our soup with spice Level 4, as a person that loves spicy things it was not as spicy. Spice lovers try Level 4 and upwards.

"WOW! I was blown away by how good the food is here, and it was 100% VEGAN! I'm not vegan myself but love food and the way it was prepared felt like a gift to the soul. I had never had pumpkin/squash soup like this before and all the veggies and salads were seasoned to perfection! The staff are so friendly and the place just feels so welcoming. As soon as you step into Casa de Luz the air just feels light and full of love. Good vibes all around! 111% recommend checking it out!"
"Tân My is in the top 5 best restaurants that Austin has to offer. Their food is always outstanding, never a miss. I first learned about this restaurant from a Lyft driver who was sharing his favorite Vietnamese food in Austin and Round Rock, and he said Tân My was the best and most authentic. He was not wrong! I have never dined in, so I always order to-go via phone. It is the place my partner and I order takeout the most from because the food is always delicious with ample portions that means two meals (dinner plus dinner or lunch the next day). There are multiple comfortable tables inside for those who prefer to dine-in.My favorites are the 55C crispy noodles (I get mine with just shrimp but it comes with chicken and beef for meat-eaters), 47 shrimp vermicelli with lemongrass, and 29 egg noodle soup with shrimp. The crispy noodles are thick and fried together in truly the most delicious sauce ever with fresh vegetables. My family has also loved their chicken fried rice and their rice noodle soup with chicken. Amy and David are wonderful siblings who often answer the phones and check you out, and the full family and all the staff are welcoming and make delicious food. They genuinely make you feel at home in the restaurant, and their food is a nurturing gift. They are currently closed on Sundays, so just plan ahead for your lunch or dinner. Tân My is an absolute Austin treasure. Order or stop by to be delighted today!"
"If you're looking for the best Chinese food in Austin, look no further than Super China. It's the hidden gem that shouldn't be as incredible as it is. We have tried most things on the menu, but my personal favorite is double sautéed pork. It's spicy, so beware if you're a non-spicy eater. If you like basic though, not to worry! Their orange chicken and fried rice is BOMB! We eat here once a week, and are never unhappy."
"WOW...Amazing homemade corn tortillas. The tacos iI had were very delicious, you can tell the ingredients are high quality! Definitely a place worth trying!"
"The quality of food here is top notch. It's a good go-to when I'm not feeling well or when my husband is on a bland diet for his stomach issues. It is anything but bland, but quality comfort food. A love the green apple and Munster grilled cheese and pretty much all of their soups. My only beef is that they took away their cheaper side salads that my husband and I liked to get. The ones they have mostly have a protein and are more pricey. I get it, salads are hard to keep if they're not moving, but that's the thing that keeps soup peddler from perfection in my mind. Also, great cold brew for a great price."
"I love that they have pictures of what each dish looks like. Especially if you are not familiar with this type of food. I was also very surprised how quickly the food came out. I had the eggrolls and the chicken pho soup. Both were delicious and very filling. It is community style seating in some areas and tables and others. So you get to choose depending on the time a day you go what kind of seating you want. All the staff were friendly and helpful. I highly recommend if you're in this neighborhood to try it out."
"Every soup I've tried is phenomenal. Personal faves are the Detox Broth and Mulligatawny. This past Wednesday they were offering a Cuban and Coffee for $10! Insane Cuban and great coffee!"
"I found this food truck right by Barking Armadillo. You can get chicken tenders with a side of your choice, including dirty rice! The chicken tenders are really tender! And you can get hot sauce and/or BBQ sauce to dip them in. I couldn't decide between beignets or bread pudding, so I got both. The beignets were so delicious they disappeared before I could take a photo. They rival Cafe du Monde: Please note they are softer with a more pillowy texture, and they are served with a more moderate amount of powdered sugar, which I prefer, but others might not. I got a picture of the bread pudding (after I ate half). It was also delicious - made with lemon and blueberries - and served warm!Edit: Please note this is a wandering food truck. Check their schedule on their website."
"Thai Spoon has been one of my favorite Pad Thai spots for a few years now. I have actually not tried anything other than their Pad Thai and mango with sticky rice. The mango with sticky rice is delicious every single time and up until the last few visits their Pad Thai has been off the chain. Unfortunately, the spice level has not been delivering the proper heat. I always order the Thai hot spice level and I even top it off with a little Sriracha. When I received my first wimpy spiced noodles, I thought maybe it was just an ordering mistake but it's happened about three times now. I'm not sure what's changed, but because of this it just is not my favorite spot anymore."
"The service was good, our waitress was very attentive. Some dishes did take a while to come out. The sushi wasn't mind blowing, but the apps were good. Overall a great deal. They don't take reservations and we went at 1pm on a Sunday and it was packed. Even with the whole place packed, it wasn't too loud or too close together that it would affect your conversation at the tables. We were really did not like the volcano roll. They do charge a leftovers fee if you have too much of a roll left on your table. Save room for dessert! The fried desserts were very good!"
"The combination fried rice, spicy chicken, shredded chicken with vegetables salt and pepper fish are my favorite items from this place."
"I love the original and am so happy there is now a location closer to me. Food is always delicious and so nutritious, sweets are tasty, vibes are chill."
"Everything tasted amazingly great! I ordered their quesabirria tacos, flautas, and guacamole with chips. The quesabirria tacos were savory and just a bit spicy, but not too spicy. The cheese was melty and stretchy like Oaxaca. They make their own chips and tortillas --These taste amazing! The chips are the thick, crunchy, authentic kind! The guac came in a 4 oz cup, but it was generously filled, fresh, and flavorful. I tried all 3 salsas with the chips, and they each had their own tasty flavor. The flautas were crunchy and filling, topped with fresh shredded lettuce, chopped tomatoes, sour cream, avocado and queso fresco and served with refried beans. --Those beans were cooked with something delicious, giving it a bit of smokey flavor and reminding me of bbq or bacon.I am eagerly awaiting my next visit."
"Just checking out a new restaurant and I decided to come to Taco Margarita. As I entered people are very welcoming and the server sat me down. The food that will served to me was really, really good. I want everyone to know that all the succulent dishes here that I had especially the enchiladas all of them were fantastic I can't say enough good things about the food that was served to me. The carnitas was Actually one of my favorites besides the enchiladas was, incredible that I had to really savor it was a large plate for me and I couldn't finish it all even though I was starving I almost finished all of it though. I truly enjoyed my visit it's a very friendly ... The decor was nice very casual someone who is wanting the best margaritas this is the place to go!! Yes, I am definitely going to make several visits here and give everyone updates as I travel throughout Lakeway Austin and many other places to review wonderful dishes especially in Mexican restaurants. You can definitely tell that they put a lot of time and energy and make it the food almost too perfect dishes. The taste is different but very delicious. It's as though after eating there within a few hours you're hungry for their food again it's like you're almost wanting to go back sooner than later. So that is my experience here it was very positive there's plenty of parking so I shouldn't worry about parking places in this location. Very easy to find. Happy yelping and enjoy!"
"Its a Soup Peddler.Soup Peddler soups are always good ... go-to items when you do not want to cook. They also do juices and smoothies.I did a Duane Almond.(That's a joke which will appeal to oldsters who are drinking smoothies because the doctor has taken everything else off their diet.)The smoothie was much better than the joke.I would have a Duane Almond again any time and be happy. My wife had a smoothie with broccoli.I looked at her in amazement ...The way you would look at someone eating broken glass. She got the whole broccoli smoothie down and actually liked it.* * *The soups here are very good. The jokes here are not very good. And if they can make a broccoli smoothie that human beings can actually surviveYou know you have come to a great place. The Soup Peddler is all right."
"The ambiance of this restaurant was not good but it looked like a mostly take-out business. The food was good. We didn't like the black rice pudding as it was so overly sweet swimming in too sweet sauce. Fresh rolls were great and came with hot (temperature) peanut sauce. We'd eat here again and if we lived close by would mostly do take out though. Server was very nice and helpful answering questions about the menu."
"Great food, quick pick up service. We did not dine in this time. Lots of food with good flavor not fast food quality. The restaurant is nice and can't wait to go back."
"Garlic Shrimp: Shrimp, fresh veggies, rice. Comes to life the minute the sauce is poured over everything! Delicious balance and excellent fry on the shrimp. Sizable portion too. Definitely would order again!"
"I live in San Antonio but always make the drive to come here because I constantly crave this place--there's nothing like it in San Antonio. The food is always fresh, hot, and served quickly, with generous portions that leave me with leftovers every time. The service is fast and friendly, though the space is a bit small, so you might have to wait for a table occasionally."
"Our family has always ordered takeout from red lotus, but today my fiancé took us to dine in. The food is always incredible through takeout, and it's even better in person. The service is a liiiittle slow, but that's fine. The food makes it absolutely worth it. We started off ordering the sample platter appetizer and steamed dumplings. Everything was great. As usual. Then for main entrees, we orders the general tso with chicken, beef fried rice, and chicken lo mein. Everything came out in a timely manner, and my initial assumption of everything being incredible in person was absolutely correct. I can't wait to dine here again."
"Wow- this banana cookie pie was one of the best pies I've ever had. The best thing here is that you sample as many soups as you want like an ice cream shop. The owner is very personable with great service. Love supporting local businesses! I'd definitely recommend trying the soups - best was potato cheese and carrot lentil."
"I had their shrimp egg foo young and the shrimp fried rice, both were very delicious and they have the dark gravy/sauce which is my favorite. Highly recommended restaurant"
"This has become my go-to once/week place over the last 6 months (thanks to my friend Luci for introducing me). You're always greeted with a warm welcome, the wait staff are extremely attentive and so kind, and the food is remarkable. The food comes quickly and is consistently flavorful with perfect ingredients. My favorite dishes are the egg-drop/corn soup and the shrimp and eggplant in garlic sauce."
