"Tân My is in the top 5 best restaurants that Austin has to offer. Their food is always outstanding, never a miss. I first learned about this restaurant from a Lyft driver who was sharing his favorite Vietnamese food in Austin and Round Rock, and he said Tân My was the best and most authentic. He was not wrong! I have never dined in, so I always order to-go via phone. It is the place my partner and I order takeout the most from because the food is always delicious with ample portions that means two meals (dinner plus dinner or lunch the next day). There are multiple comfortable tables inside for those who prefer to dine-in.My favorites are the 55C crispy noodles (I get mine with just shrimp but it comes with chicken and beef for meat-eaters), 47 shrimp vermicelli with lemongrass, and 29 egg noodle soup with shrimp. The crispy noodles are thick and fried together in truly the most delicious sauce ever with fresh vegetables. My family has also loved their chicken fried rice and their rice noodle soup with chicken. Amy and David are wonderful siblings who often answer the phones and check you out, and the full family and all the staff are welcoming and make delicious food. They genuinely make you feel at home in the restaurant, and their food is a nurturing gift. They are currently closed on Sundays, so just plan ahead for your lunch or dinner. Tân My is an absolute Austin treasure. Order or stop by to be delighted today!"

"WOW! I was blown away by how good the food is here, and it was 100% VEGAN! I'm not vegan myself but love food and the way it was prepared felt like a gift to the soul. I had never had pumpkin/squash soup like this before and all the veggies and salads were seasoned to perfection! The staff are so friendly and the place just feels so welcoming. As soon as you step into Casa de Luz the air just feels light and full of love. Good vibes all around! 111% recommend checking it out!"
"Thai Spoon has been one of my favorite Pad Thai spots for a few years now. I have actually not tried anything other than their Pad Thai and mango with sticky rice. The mango with sticky rice is delicious every single time and up until the last few visits their Pad Thai has been off the chain. Unfortunately, the spice level has not been delivering the proper heat. I always order the Thai hot spice level and I even top it off with a little Sriracha. When I received my first wimpy spiced noodles, I thought maybe it was just an ordering mistake but it's happened about three times now. I'm not sure what's changed, but because of this it just is not my favorite spot anymore."
"Great food and service from Maya! Delicious flavors from all over India. Lamb is good. Delicious vegetarian soups as well."
"On a Friday, I arrived around 5 PM, and there was no line. The service was nice and timely.P08. Eye Round Steak, Flank, Meatballs - $15 (4.5/5)The portion is generous, and the soup is light yet flavorful. For pho, you can upgrade to a large for an additional $2.50.A02. Shrimp Spring Rolls - $6 (3/5)There's a good amount of shrimp, and the peanut sauce is sweet and well-balanced. I even dipped my eye round steak in it, and it tasted great! However, the rice paper was a bit hard. This is my second time ordering it, and both times, the rice paper was tough. This place is bright and clean. It's a super popular pho spot, and there can be a line during peak hours on weekends."
"Great service. Tasty menu.Lomo - 5/5Chocolate Cake w/ Maracuya - 5/5Service was fantastic. Super friendly and great recommendations. Food came out really quick. Steak was cooked perfectly. Tender and juicy. Garlic rice was delicious. Cake was really good as well. Nice combo with the chocolate and maracuya."
"I had their shrimp egg foo young and the shrimp fried rice, both were very delicious and they have the dark gravy/sauce which is my favorite. Highly recommended restaurant"

I met a former colleague for lunch here today at her suggestion. I haven't been here for years and luckily we got there just before the lunch rush and didn't have to wait in line to get a seat. I need to remember to come back more often. I had forgotten how good and fresh the food was here! They do a great job getting folks a spot and serving folks quickly. The dishes are a good size so it's always nice to be able to take leftovers home. I always get confused when choosing between pho's so when my friend got her typical vermicelli with curry sauce I got the same. It was really good! The spring rolls were good too. The peanut sauce was different than I'm used to so I probably should have tried it with some other sauces they had on the table. I look forward to going back again soon!

Looked up this little restaurant after a doctor's appointment and decided to give it a try. Location is in a small shopping area that wasn't crowded, that had plenty of parking, easy access to the establishment. The restaurant was roomy, tables only, no booths. They hand you a menu and you order and pay for your food first. Asian cafe had a pretty good selection of dishes, appetizers, soups, and drinks. I ordered the beef broccoli and shared an egg drop soup and my spouse ordered the Chong Chin chicken containing plenty of peppercorns and Szechuan peppers. We did not have to wait long for our order. Our food arrived neatly displayed in the plates along with a good size bowl of egg drop soup. Everything was fresh, hot, and the flavors were out of this world. You could taste the ginger, garlic, lemon grass, and the rest of the delicious spices combining them all to deliver quite the punches and explosions of flavor. The portions were large and filling. My beef broccoli tasted great. The meat was very tender, and served in a brown sauce. Very flavorful. I could taste the fresh spices in the dish. Very authentic. I also got to eat some of the Chon Chin dish which consisted of tiny, crispy, fried pieces of chicken mixed in with great tasting flavors. The chicken was crispy, and juicy. It was spicy as we wanted it to be. It had peanuts that were roasted just right with thin, tiny slivers of roasted fresh ginger. Absolutely delicious. At times you could get the great taste of lemon grass and garlic. The egg drop soup was so comforting and just reminded me of the holidays for some reason. The food was the undeniably the best tasting Asian food we have had. The way they blended in their ingredients was perfect. The staff was friendly and attentive. we could not have asked for better tasting Asian food. Definitely would recommend this establishment to you all.

Casa de Luz is such a special place to me. It's one of the first places I ever went to when I came to Austin. It's ALWAYS fresh, wholesome, delicious.I love that there's no menu - you show up and you get fed a nourishing, wonderful vegan meal. For $20 you can get a whole meal, soup, and a dessert - filling up on natural foods and delicious nutrients! For desert I recommend the pumpkin or chocolate pie!Peaceful ambience with friendly people. 15/10

Best Thai spot in all of north Austin, in my humble opinion. It is my comfort food and my wife's go-to spot whenever we feel like we are tired, hungry, and don't feel like cooking :) Thai Spoon is always consistent, hot, fresh, delicious, EVERY TIME. It just hits the spot. They don't miss!Service is always great. Wait staff are friendly, attentive, and consistent. I have rarely dined-in, but when I do, it is still a stellar experience. Warm staff and very little wait time, and food comes out quickly. Pick-up orders are always ready at the expected time. I may have had to wait on my pick-up order an extra five minutes once, but that is very rare.Inside has plenty of seating, open space, friendly wait staff, full of delicious smells, and, of course, delicious dishes :) I usually do take-out and it is delicious straight out of the box when we bring it home. You know how a lot of restaurants you pick up from, after you get home and eat it, you say, "it's probably a lot better there." Not with Thai Spoon! Their stuff is so good, that after the 20-minute ride from the restaurant to my house, I can take it all out, and it is still super delicious, hot, and fresh. I rarely taste anything soggy, over-soaked in oil, or less fresh in any way. Ready to be in my belly!Any curry is great! I have literally cycled through every one of them and love them all. Massamun curry, Green curry, Red curry, Panang Curry - I have had all with beef or chicken or both. Sometimes I've done vegetarian, and the broth and taste is still so good, I don't really care. And I'm not even a vegetarian!I get Chicken Potstickers for the kids often and they are hot, crispy, and delicious. My son scarfs them down in minutes. My wife swears by the Chicken Pad Thai, mainly for the taste, but also because she can ask for no spice. Shockingly, some Thai places do not ask you what spice level you want! Thai Spoon does and the spice level always matches your expectations - from no spicy to Thai Hot. Get ready for the heat if you go all the way!Basil fried rice is also delicious and they give you generous portions. I'd recommend with beef, chicken, or both. Thai iced tea, Thai iced coffee are both delicious drinks I'd highly recommend as well.As a testament to how good their food is, even during the pandemic, people were still ordering from them on a regular basis! Though no one was physically inside the restaurant, every time I went to pick up an order, I would always see at least one or two more orders sitting at the back counter waiting to be picked up. Once the pandemic died down, people were right back inside! If you want awesome Thai food up in the North Austin area, look no further! Do your tastebuds a favor and pick some up today!

Pho Phong Luu is neighbors with HK Tea. It's easy to traverse from one side to the other through the gap in the separating wall between them.Ordered a Combination Pho and their Special Bahn Mi to go. Was ready in a jiffy (less than 10 minutes) at 10:30am in the morning.Packaging:The pho came in three separate containers. Meat and noodles came in a plastic bowl, but the raw beef slices wrapped in plastic wrap were hiding underneath just above the noodles. So if you get takeout from here, it'll be good to double check before pouring the broth over. I do appreciate the wrapping of the raw sliced beef, as it prevents oxidation and getting blood on the other items. But I would place that beef on the top layer rather than the bottom so that customers are aware of the plastic wrap. I ended up transferring the contents to a ceramic bowl. The broth came in a a separate plastic container, not piping hot to avoid diffusion of any non-polymerized material into the liquid. Opening the container, there was a strong smell of star anise. I dumped the broth into a pot to heat it up. The bean sprouts, basil, and sliced jalapeños came in a separate baggie.Once the broth was ready, I poured it over the other ingredients, then added in the veggies. I opted to not add the Sriracha or Hoisin sauce (which are provided in little packets). The broth was on the lighter side, but still had a wonderful flavorful. It was not an intense dark brown beefy flavor, but a really good savory essence filled with more spices, herbs, and onions. The lengthy jalapeño slices lent a hint of spiciness. The various beef cuts contained in the dish also had very nice savory flavors (perhaps even more so than the broth!). In contrast, the tendon and tripe were less flavorful than the broth, but on the plus side they were soft and not chewy. The rice noodles. I believe their rice noodles are pre-packaged, not freshly made. Their noodles were definitely almost soft enough that if I wasn't paying close attention I might believe they were fresh rice noodles. Regardless of whether they were fresh or pre-packaged, the noodles did their job.Bahn Mi: Glorious, very slight sweetness, well-balanced savoriness. I'm definitely going to order this another time. The pickled radish, pickled carrots, cucumber, cilantro, and bread become a platform for elevating meat fillings within.I'll definitely be going back to try out more of their menu in the near future.

We were driving around looking for a place to eat and this little restaurant in the corner caught our attention. Once we saw the reviews we decided to stop by for lunch. It was pretty empty, only one other table occupied but it was late lunch. We were greeted right away and sat down instantly. The menu has a bit of everything. We had two lunch specials as well as other sides. The crab Rangoon were amazing! Our meals were brought out quick and fresh! The portions were huge! So much so we brought half home so we can eat for dinner later on. It was our first time there but it's definitely going to be a usual spot for us now

"Every soup I've tried is phenomenal. Personal faves are the Detox Broth and Mulligatawny. This past Wednesday they were offering a Cuban and Coffee for $10! Insane Cuban and great coffee!"
"Great food, quick pick up service. We did not dine in this time. Lots of food with good flavor not fast food quality. The restaurant is nice and can't wait to go back."
"Our family has always ordered takeout from red lotus, but today my fiancé took us to dine in. The food is always incredible through takeout, and it's even better in person. The service is a liiiittle slow, but that's fine. The food makes it absolutely worth it. We started off ordering the sample platter appetizer and steamed dumplings. Everything was great. As usual. Then for main entrees, we orders the general tso with chicken, beef fried rice, and chicken lo mein. Everything came out in a timely manner, and my initial assumption of everything being incredible in person was absolutely correct. I can't wait to dine here again."
"This has become my go-to once/week place over the last 6 months (thanks to my friend Luci for introducing me). You're always greeted with a warm welcome, the wait staff are extremely attentive and so kind, and the food is remarkable. The food comes quickly and is consistently flavorful with perfect ingredients. My favorite dishes are the egg-drop/corn soup and the shrimp and eggplant in garlic sauce."
"Soup was good although most of the menu was so out my only complaint is their delivery service charge is crazy for a cup up soup that shows up in a drink cup :/"
"Their smoothie is definitely a mood booster! I have tried their Golden Ticket, Dancing Bear and Nina Simone. I love the little kick cayenne pepper adds to Dancing Bear and the eucalyptus flavor that the cardamom brings into Golden Ticket, so I would recommend trying these two if you are looking for something sweet and fun to drink. The juice bar decor is also captivating! I would literally recommend anyone who enjoys unfettered imagination from art come visit this place and try out a smoothie which sounds interesting to them."
"If you're looking for the best Chinese food in Austin, look no further than Super China. It's the hidden gem that shouldn't be as incredible as it is. We have tried most things on the menu, but my personal favorite is double sautéed pork. It's spicy, so beware if you're a non-spicy eater. If you like basic though, not to worry! Their orange chicken and fried rice is BOMB! We eat here once a week, and are never unhappy."
"(It is important to note in reference to this restaurant's present rating that it is based in part on prior ownership before 2022: since that time the restaurant is a substantially different place with greatly improved food and service. This is evident in the elevation of the reviews after that time.)Wok On Fire is a very good value for fresh, hot American Chinese food. The chicken wings are some of the best in the city, both fried and 'spicy'. The pork dumplings are very good--especially at that price--and the soups are always good and hot. There are other trad American Chinese dishes on the menu, but I usually succumb to the temptation to order the wings or the dumplings, with some of their soups.Ambience is plain and austere (food-to-go is big here), but the people who work here are helpful and friendly.A GREAT VALUE--RECOMMENDED"
"Nothing hip or fancy here, folks, just reasonably priced, authentic Korean dishes, made-to-order and fast. Think basic soups, noodles, rice dishes, and banchan (sides / pickles). Other neighboring stalls have come & gone over time, but Yoree seems to have enough fans to stick around. We've been eating here for years when we have a craving for dolsot bibimbap (#27, spelled Dol Sot Bi Bim Bab on the posted menu, currently listed at $12 up from $9 during the pandemic, still a bargain) and don't want to get dressed up or wait too long to eat. If you haven't yet had the pleasure, the "dolsot" part of the name means this flavorful rice meal is served in a scorching hot rock or ceramic pot that will continue to caramelize the bottom layer of rice as you devour the assortment of veggies, fungi, pickles, proteins, and sauce from the top. If you get the included runny egg garnish (and you should), be sure to work some of that yolk down to the bottom rice for an extra treat in the crisped rice, aka socarrat (Spanish) or nurungji (Korean), that you'll scrape up at the end of the meal.Bonus is that we can do some quick shopping for groceries and household goods at Hana World Market next door, then pickup a great tea and dessert at the stand in the front entrance on the way out the door. - Phone-in orders and take-out available.- Cash only at the order counter, but you can pay with credit card inside the grocery store.- Open 11a-8:30p daily.- Masks required for entry to the food court and store."
"A little hesitant because there were no other patrons and the waitstaff didn't understand/speak much English, but let me tell you, they couldn't have been more nicer. With language barrier, I used the Notepad app on my phone to type out the number/order and she was so appreciative. We are truly the appreciative ones, though! The sushi was fresh, amazing, and this is now my favorite spot for sushi in this area. I tried a few other high star places and wasn't impressed with taste or quality, but A Go Go is special"
"I stopped by last night to grab some food to go.....Let's go!Lobster fried rice Lobster fried rice has an amazing robust flavor. This lobster fried rice is made with lobster tails, jasmine rice, veggies, and a few other simple ingredients. The lobster is really designed to be the star of the show, but it gets a lot of help from all the flavors working with it in every bite. The lobster for the dish is a bit light on taste but as noted above the corn, onion and light spices make the dish work. In the future, I'd elect to purchase the crab fried rice as it may be sweeter in taste than the lobster. Salt and pepper shrimp The shrimp for this dish were tender. To achieve this tenderness, the shrimp must be marinated and after marinating, the shrimp are quickly blanched in hot oil until they are cooked through. This process forms a thin coating around the shrimp, sealing in moisture and preventing them from becoming tough or rubbery during further cooking in stir-fries or other dishes. The salt and pepper seasoning on the shrimp coupled with jalapenos, fresh carrot and onion took this dish up a notch. This to-go meal from order to packing took approximately 15 minutes (love the expeditiousness of this establishment) and costs $42.17 before tip. #supportlocal"
"Wow- this banana cookie pie was one of the best pies I've ever had. The best thing here is that you sample as many soups as you want like an ice cream shop. The owner is very personable with great service. Love supporting local businesses! I'd definitely recommend trying the soups - best was potato cheese and carrot lentil."
