"I've been here three times and each time I've thoroughly enjoyed my food. I've tried the chicken kebab, chicken & rice, and the tikka kebab. I also had the Afghan green tea, chicken & veg soup, and mango kulfi. The tandoori naan comes with each meal and is cooked to warm, fluffy, perfection. This is the only Afghan place I've tried so I'm not sure how authentic it is but I can say it is delicious! The red and green sauces paired really well with the naan and the entrees. I'll definitely be back."

"Wow, just exquisite. This is one of the best "chicken over rice" mediterranean dishes I've ever had! Can't believe I haven't been here until now. This is reminiscent of the BEST I've ever had (sadly haven't had them in New York where they apparently originate), back when I lived in Houston. A brick- and- mortar joint called Gyro Hut, if I recall. This is as good! Don't question why it has 5 stars, it's deserved, believe me! Dear financial advisors who tell us to cook at home to save money... forget it, this is too delicious to pass up! This food truck opens at 5pm, just FYI."

"This is my first time ordering from SBK. I got the falafel plate. It came with a salad (I love the salad dressing), a very delicious, fragrant rice (it left me wondering what the herbs are in it), hummus, and tahini. I also ordered pita. The pita bread was perfect. "Really lovely, lowkey spot! I only stumbled upon this place. The front patio area is really pretty, the lighting is nice and dim and I think there was a live band and belly dancer last night! So cool. The back room area is dingy and dirty looking. They honestly need to make sure the entire place is well decorated, clean and presentable for paying customers! Service was really poor and disappointing. My server was rude and inconsistent. She came to check on us a total of two times and then came back to say "are you done? We need the tea pot and glasses" this was extremely unprofessional and rude!! My party of 3 was shocked and uncomfortable after this. The food was good. I ordered the Shih Tawook plate, but she brought me the wrap instead at that point it didn't matter and the wrap costs as little less. The mint tea was refreshing and strong! The presentation of it was pretty. My friend indulged in hookah and ordered the passion fruit? It smelled nice. I didn't try any desserts on this visit but I definitely will next time around! I hope the owner takes hospitality seriously and improve with feedback! I look forward to returning to give this place one more shot because the vibe with other patrons was amazing! Music was good and the food quality on point. FYI there is a parking lot but it is tiny and chaotic! Park on the street"

"Came here after a night out in the area. The staff was super friendly and efficient in getting our order. The food was delicious and plentiful for a great price. My cousins and I all got something different and we all loved the food. The spice assortment is hilarious and delicious. I got the chicken gyro with brown people spice sauce. The chicken was so flavorful and with the condiments it was excellent. It was so good I almost got another to go! I would gladly come here again and again when in the area. Check them out!"

"This is a great and proven restaurant to go to for Halal food. I usually get the combination plate over rice. The combination plate consists of gyro and chicken meat over rice served with a side salad (lettuce and tomato) along with white sauce and hot sauce. This entree is very good because the chicken is well seasoned as is the gyro meat. The rice has a nice flavor and the white sauce is a must for this type of meal! Service has always been satisfying here. You can't go wrong getting food from here. They've been consistently good the numerous times I've been here."

"Came here sooo many times during college and finally got to revisit and take some people here for their first time! I love love love the gyro over rice-I have always gotten this and probably won't ever get anything else because this is so good. The portion itself is huge, you most likely will not be able to eat it all in one sitting. Sauces are great. I didn't order this, but still want to mention it...my friend got the beef, and it was not good. Beef was very tough and hard to chew. Very small parking lot in front."

"Peace Bakery & Deli is one of the best restaurants in North Austin. My partner has always been a huge fan of Mediterranean restaurants, but I never fell in love with the food until I tried Peace's Palestinian-style cuisine. The food here is truly special, and every experience is better than the last.My favorite thing to order here is the falafel plate. The falafel is fried-to-order, so it is so fresh and delicious. There is a cafeteria style buffet of amazing sides to choose from. Some of my favorites are the tahni baba ganoush, the tabouli, and the potatoes (can be a bit spicy for me but I'm a spice wimp). Their tzatziki sauce is also amazing. The menu caters to both vegetarians and meat eaters alike. I wish I could speak to the amazing shawarma options they serve, but I am not a meat eater, so look to the other reviews for this. I can say my two dogs have tried a taste of the lamb, and they were in absolute heaven.I also have enjoyed both the zatar and cheese pitas (kind of like a pita pizza), and the staff will warm them in the oven for you (or you can warm yourself at home). Complete your dining experience with THE best baklava in Austin. ZOMG, all of the options are all so good. I think the walnut is my favorite, or the pistachio, or is it the cashew? You cannot go wrong. Finally, as if the delicious, fresh, healthy food wasn't enough to convince you to try Peace out, this family-owned restaurant has the kindest, most caring and personable staff. Each time we go in there, the owners, family, and staff (especially Ali) make us feel more like friends than customers, and I see them take this same care with each returning customer, asking questions about their lives and remembering their favorite foods. Peace Bakery & Deli is a treasure in Austin, and I highly recommend trying it out!"

"I order at this place WAY too many times through UberEats but never in person. When I was having my car checked at Qualtech the other day, I pulled up Yelp to see what's nearby and thought hey, Halal Bros is so close and it would be so nice to actually see the location, environment and people who work there. And yes indeed, not only are items priced cheaper compared to UberEats, I saved an additional $10 on tips and delivery fees. It also smelled so good when I walked in and I wanted to order everything. And I almost forgot, on UberEats I could only order the over rice options but my husband is on Keto diet which could mean more work for us to pick out the protein for him. However if you order in store (the friendly staff told me), you could just do protein over salad and boom, that's my husband's perfect meal. We have had no bad experiences either online or in person here. I was impressed by how tidy the place was. The food is always fresh and overflowing, and we are going to keep supporting them by ordering those combo meals and hummus."

"The parking lot is valet only, at least at the time we were there. Me and my husband parked on the street for free, it was just a small walk. We had reservations at 6:00pm on a Saturday night and the table was ready as soon as we showed up. We sat inside but they have tables outside and in an outdoor covered area too. We ordered the whipped feta, hummus with charred broccoli, Chicken Shwarma, and the Lamb Kebob. We wanted to try a little bit of everything on the menu. The whipped feta was amazing but I asked for more honey bc it didn't come with enough the first time. The honey helped to balance out the flavor, it was a bit salty without it. The hummus and charred broccoli was amazing, it came with pickled onions in it. The chicken shwarma was so soft, it fell off the skewer so easily. It came with a tortilla/wrap, beats, and cabbage. I could do without the cabbage but the tortilla was good. The lamb kebab came in a bed of hummus/chickpeas. The lamb had a yummy smoky/charred flavor. We had plenty of leftovers so I think it's safe to only order 1 main dish and 1 side dish and share it. Overall, this place was yummy!!"

"A new counter service Arabic place off Parmer, Lazeez is a welcome addition to the area. It's no frills ambience wise but the food is great. We got the chicken shawarma plate which came with fries and garlic sauce and it was great. Unlike some other Arabic restaurants the garlic sauce is super smooth and not too strong. We also got the chicken+lamb bbq plate- It took a while but it's due to them grilling everything to order. Wish there was a bit more meat but it tasted great as well. The rice was delicious and spiced with care. Good hummus as well! For takeout or dine in this is going to be a solid addition to the area. Probably the first Arabic restaurant in the Parmer corridor. Recommended!"

"Great tasting food for good price. Located in the Barbara Jordan shopping plaza, I came here on a rainy night when I didn't feel like cooking. I opted for the platter with beef shawarma that came with a delicious white sauce, rice, salad, and pita.The portion was large enough for probably 2 meals and the meat was delicious and paired wonderfully with the white sauce. Ordered ahead on line so the food was read immediately when I came but the location is a bit hidden in a corner and their lights for their sign were off so it was a bit hard to find, but nonetheless a great meal!"

"It's so hard to find real shawarma. I've been to so many restaurants that claim to have shawarma and give you grilled chicken with a few spices.This place is the real deal. It's inside a Walmart but that makes sense because of the heavy foot traffic here. The service is fantastic - I even got a free sample of their shawarma while I waited because I mentioned having a hard time finding shawarma and it was not only good it was authentic.
