"I recently went here with a friend. I had been wanting some good sushi and she took me here. It was pretty chill when we first got there. Not too many people even though it was happy hour . Our appetizers were amazing! The boat contains a variety of different options just can't remember them lol. It was soooooooooooo delicious! We couldn't even finish the whole thing! I got lucky to take tit home to have later. The service was good as well. Our waitress was attentive and helped me. I can't wait to go back !"
"Ok. I have been going to Musashino since 96 when it was on Mopac near Anderson and Tyson Cole was a sous chef there. Before covid it had gone through a rough patch and their sushi had lost the beauty and taste. Their new location brings a fresh, yet traditional, breath to limited Austin sushi offering. I love the new location. The menu is smaller than what it was, but everything is good and the service is top notch."

"*I don't eat sushi so the review of those items comes from my companions. We came with a large group for happy hour and this place did not disappoint! Great cocktails$5 appetizers and $5 cocktails. All of the food that came out of the kitchen was on point and delicious. I had shrimp tempura and gyoza. Both were perfect. This spot is definitely worth a return trip."
"Great! Just amazing! We ordered ex-girlfriend the Diablo Casanova yellowtail and salmon sishi and the Mexican. Great! They threw in some rare yellowtail belly!"
"What happened to this place? It used to be SO GOOD!The last time I was here, before my recent visit, was probably around 12-13 years ago when the super white tuna was plump, fresh, and would overhang on a little lump of rice-- how a perfect piece of nigiri should be. This time it was tough, tiny, and honestly, I was so sad. I have no idea what went down through these years, but it must have been some shit, because the sushi tasted like it's been sitting there for weeks.Used to think so highly of this place, but damn, it has gone downhill to the max. Is it the economy? Are we skimping on fresh fish? --keeping it longer than advised? Ugh.Ambience is still ok and service is acceptable, but sadly, I likely won't be back."
"I thought I had given this place a review, but it appears this is my first. I have enjoyed my dining experience each time I have eaten here. The service is always excellent and the dining room reminds me of Japanese Restaurants that I visited in Okinawa. It has a sushi bar, tables with chairs as well as tables to sit on the floor (traditional). I ordered Poke (Tuna) this time. The dish was large and loaded with Tuna, caviar, veggies and rice. A great deal for the cost."
"Service is hit or miss but the food is worth it! Love love love this placeGreat vibesGreat drink selectionSaki and cocktails are greatAnd the vegetarian sushi is the best I've ever hadHUGE selection for vegetarians and vegans and meat eaters Something for everyoneSome of my favorites: lettuce wraps, house salad, miso soup, edamame, cowgirl, Eden roll, green goddess, shiitake it to me, prince roll, Thai hippie and unami express A MUST go if you are in the domain"
"The customer service was excellent. The quality of the fish was decent and the pricing was fairly competitive. The scallops were legit.I should have ordered the seasonal, limited sushi and nigiri items but opted for a set menu and chirashi bowl instead. The wasabi had some serious kick to it with some chunky bits of root. Will have to check out the a la carte menu items next time! The restaurant space was cozy. The sushi chefs were engaged and made sure every customer was taken care of. Overall, it was a good meal."
"Tsukimi has an excellent AYCE menu. They offer both lunch and dinner AYCE. The price is quite reasonable since the food doesn't stop until you do. Lunch is around $28 (no nigiri) and dinner is about $36 and includes nigiri (with some limits). Kids up to 7 are $17 for AYCE. 2 hour limit and you'll be charged for over ordering and wasting sushi (pretty typical for any AYCE).Service is solid. This seems like a mom and pop place and I think mom and pop might be seating and serving us. Located conveniently right off of 35, exit parmer to get there. Ample parking. I think they could make use of their outdoor space, it would be a nice option and people driving by would notice the outdoor diners. The fatty salmon nigiri for dinner AYCE is my favorite. So many options on the huge menu like creative apps, noodles, fried rice, katsu - sushi and non sushi lovers alike will find plenty to choose from. I can't speak to the standard menu but I'll promote that AYCE all day!"
"As a vegetarian who used to love sushi, I really appreciate this place. First, it is bright, clean, and spacious. The servers are super nice and stay on top of refilling your water cups. They're quick, there was a time I didn't even notice they had refilled my drink.I ordered all the vegetarian rolls, of which there are 3. These rolls are bigger than the standard sushi roll you can order. This is great because with less protein the veggie options tend to be less filling so you order more. Every roll was delicious. No, they were DELICIOUS. The Vegetable Tempura Roll was crispy and tasty. My dining companion said it was her favorite. I let her eat several of them because I could not eat all of this on my own. The Green Land Roll was light and refreshing, but again so many giant pieces made it pretty filling. The Vegetarian Roll was wrapped in cucumber and was a snappy delight. I think about these rolls often and am excited to come back for more Green Land and to try something else."
"Had a birthday dinner there last night and it was terrific. We didn't know anything about eating on a cooking table but the staff explained how these dishes work. You pick different types of protein (we got beef and port meatballs, pork belly, shrimp and scallops. They bring you a pot of broth and put it on a burner that's built-in your table. You put the protein in and simmering broth and when it's cooked, you take it out and dip it into one of a few dipping sauces. Everything we had was really tasty. The seafood was fresh and so was everything else. We shared both of our similar meals and enjoyed everything tremendously. Great service too, we'll be back."
"This is our new favorite sushi spot in cedar park! They have a large variety that includes easy favorites and unique rolls and combinations I have only had here. Every roll we tried was amazing and the prices were reasonable. There are definitely more expensive sushi restaurants in the area that don't have the type of high quality flavor combos they bring to the menu here. The location is quaint but the restaurant has a nice ambiance and fantastic service. We've already gone multiple times in one week!"

We were absolutely thrilled on our first visit to this place! We ordered for pickup, and everything was incredibly fresh and spot-on. We usually try a variety of rolls and often end up let down by at least one, but not this time! Each roll was a delightful surprise--delicious and amazing all around!

Update 01-31-2024Mushashino consistently delivers first rate sushi! As usual, we started with miso soup and a large house hot saki... both delicious. Our second course, as always, was the avocado kama, an avocado partially scooped out and refilled with crabmeat. Nice sauce on the top, outstanding as always. Something new on the menu this time, fried oysters... fixed wonderfully, and oh so tasty! Then began the sushi parade... two blue fin tunas, both fatty, one big eye, the fatty one seared... to die for! Next up, salmon two ways, one king, one fatty... Yum! Followed by yellowtail tuna, one belly, one cheek: both delish! We paused a bit... more hot saki!Jumping back in, first up was something new for us, seared Wagyu, perhaps an odd thing to order at a first rate sushi place, but it was great. We'll definitely get that again! Next on the plate was unagi (fresh water eel), served piping hot... always one of my favorites. On the recommendation of our sushi chef (we always sit at the sushi bar), we had the smoked escolar (mackerel), definitely a Texas-tasting fish! LOL More hot saki...We next enjoyed a pile of tobiko, served battleship-style, very salty and tasty too. More hot saki... A round of salmon skin sushi followed... hard to describe, just get it if you can... At last, we ordered dessert - a combination of uni and salmon roe, again served battleship-style... heaven on a plate, and a great finish to a deliriously delicious dinner! Highly recommend Mushashino! It's a high price tag, but worth every penny IMHO!

Food (5/5): A budget friendly sushi option! Sushi Junai could benefit from condensing their sushi roll menu a bit since all the options were quite overwhelming. They do not shy away from saucing their rolls, which I like! But could be a bit overwhelming. Some of my favorite rolls included: - Long horn - Casanova - Black Jack - Ex-Girlfriend Everything we ordered was so good!! Since we did AYCE, I'm pretty sure we ordered more than 10 plates, including some of their sashimi options. Service (5/5): it was fair, they did what had to be done, not many complaints. Ambiance (4/5): Overall it was fine, but could've benefitted from more space, to be fair though it is a "hole in the wall" restaurant. However, be prepared to wait for a while.Final verdict: It's not the best quality sushi but for the price, I feel like it was a worth it & I'd definitely come back!

Good sushi spot. Not my top 5, but still good. Nice and quiet and good ambiance insideThe sushi rolls were really good. The sushi nigiri was also good. The only thing is that the nigiri salmon was said to be wild, but I highly doubt it was as I have had a lot of wild salmon and it just didn't taste the same.Would check this place out if you are looking for good mid priced sushi

If you like raw fish, they got raw fish. The fish is good.If you like sitting with your feet in a pit, because your knees don't bend the way Japanese peoples' knees bend, they got pits. The pits are good. The room definitely FEELS the most Japanese of any of the sushi restaurants I have been to in Austin. We ordered the basic sushi/sashimi assortment -Which means we got a pretty boat and the standard ABC items.Salmon, tuna, yellowtail etc. There was a jalapeno dip we could have used if we didn't want to use wasabi.I understand why people use wasabi and tamari on sashimi.(It tastes good). But I still like my sashimi plain and naked.(Let me revise that last sentence.I like to eat fish that is plain and naked. I wear clothes myself.)Their ABC standard items are completely pleasant. The raw material here is good.I am curious about their more elaborate concoctions ...So as far as I am concerned, the jury is not in on Ichiban. But so far, I like what I see.

"My husband and I loved the Love Boat! There was a good variety of meat and sushi and the price was excellent!"
"On my Sunday-Funday, my partner and I headed to Sushi Koen for some sushi. Recently, I have been sent numerous text from various people regarding the 'dangers' of consuming fish. But, how can you have sushi without great fish? Fresh fish is important for sushi because it tastes better, looks better, and is safer to eat. However, most sushi restaurants and bars in the United States serve fish that has been frozen to kill parasites. This is because the only way to kill parasites in raw fish is to freeze it. Regardless of the method, there is no reason to worry because every restaurant must follow the FDA sushi guidelines to be open. These standards determine the fish preservation process to achieve safe consumption. Regarding the conservation temperature, they established a minimum of 4ºC (41ºF), and during the delivery process, both the supplier and the restaurant must guarantee that the fish is protected from contaminating agents. The sushi served here is buttery in that it melts into your mouth with each bite. The freshness of the fish and expert preparation makes the sushi dishes here hard to beat. The service provided here is prompt and friendly."
"As always, Miyo never misses serving wonderful Japanese food. I love their Chicken Katsu Don (also comes with a cup of Miso Soup). It's a huge portion of Chicken Katsu on top of a ton of rice with the most flavorful sauce/egg mixture. Prices are pretty resonable for the quality and amount of food you receive. Definitely recommend giving Miyo a try!"
"miso is my favorite restaurant when i'm craving korean food in austin. not only do they offer delicious korean food but their sushi rolls are also such good quality as well. it is pretty pricey here ($20-30 for the meal) but they offer really good lunch prices. my go tos are their dolsot bibimbap with spicy pork, spicy pork bulgogi bento, and spicy yellowtail roll."
"We were rather disappointed in Wasabi. From the beginning to the end it was in disarray. Parking was very tough and the restaurant was full in the doorway because of the takeout customers. We luckily had a reservation and were seated right away.A man dressed like a manger greeted us and took our drink order then ran off. The restaurant was extremely busy and he was the only server. I found that to be a very foolish decision especially since this was Valentine's Day! Let's plan better for the busiest day of the year shall we? We waited quite a while but then our food came. We ordered a sushi roll after getting our appetizers and dessert. Those took a long time so it's a good thing we didn't wait longer to order. We got our food and I unrolled my fork to find it was gross and dirty! Please polish your silverware before rolling them up next time.I wanted dessert and they were completely out of ice cream (green tea, vanilla, and chocolate!) The server told me they only had tempura cheesecake, I got it and I never expected scalding hot cheesecake! It was something I would not order again. Needless to say it was not the most pleasant dining experience."
"First time using delivery for them (Yelp option routes this establishment through grubhub)--it was elusive for quite a while. I recommend preordering before they open or doing it early in their service hours; otherwise you get the message ordering is closed. May have to do with their parking lot, which gets pretty packed just with dine in and to-go customers.NY STRIP was cooked medium rare as stated in the menu. Haven't found a speck of gristle. Very good with teriyaki sauce, crunchy onions, and nori toppings and their standard arranged rice/cabbage/ginger base. I'd grabbed a fork/knife when I felt there were zero utensils in the grubhub bag, but in proper style the steak was already cut to be chopstick ready. Apologies to Don for my brief, rash assumption.EBI 4pc I should have opened and sampled this box first, since while I was eating steak steam was having a go at their perfect crunchy coating which suffered a bit for it. Still delicious, of course. Beautiful fat sweet shrimp with enjoyable properly cooked texture.VEGGIE CROQUETTE My first chance at it, as Mr T didn't share the Lenten croquette I ordered with his stir fry this spring. All the deep fried pleasure without the meat sweats, it was lovely. Only veg I recognized (as I took off tiny pieces to share with the pups) was delicious sweet corn. If I ever made croquettes--my house never has spare mashed potatoes for some reason--I'd aim to make them as good as these. It's obviously best fresh, but I'm enjoying leftovers the next day and feeling spoiled with new-to-me dishes. It's hard ordering anything other than their amazing pork belly when it's available. Try anything, including all their sauces if you're dining in. I haven't tasted one thing I've regretted here and their employees have been great every single visit."
"Researched sushi in San Marcos and this one had a high rating from over 200 Yelpers. Sure to not disappoint I thought, but Yelp has failed me this time surprisingly. This place is a 3-star quality restaurant tops. FOOD: Shrimp tempura (2/5) seemed like it came out of a frozen box. Bulgogi-Don (3/5) was decent but the bowl looked sad in terms of their beef ration. The Volcano sushi (3/5) was mediocre even after sitting on its own puddle of oil. And finally, the Double Spicy sushi (2/5) was double the disappointment. The sushi on top felt too cold/icy. SERVICE: The waitress was very nice so no complaints here. LOCATION: It is located in the middle of Texas State University inside a strip mall with plenty of parking. NOTEWORTHY: Relatively cheap, which is probably very attractive to the college kids on campus. But you get what you pay for."
"The first time that I tried Kai Sushi was during the pandemic. My experience was alright but really not worth noting as I only picked it up. This time around I was able to sit and order at the restaurant. I brought my niece here as sushi was on her list of accepted meals after a long soccer tournament. We had a wonderful experience and wonderful service, so kind and authentic. Our food was delicious and we could not have left happier. I look forward to making more time to come and sit to enjoy the experience more often than not. This is also a great spot for a date night, very intimate and I'd say mostly quiet."
"I love this place, it is my go to after bowling on Tuesday evenings, from Allison at the bar to the excellent Sushi chefs it is all top notch.....5 stars."
"This place has great food and is very quick! Real octopus takoyaki and excellent bulgolgi!!!!"
"The best sushi in cedar park and north Austin hands down. Great service by christi shes very nice and attentive."
"After loving our dinner and lunch take-out experiences from Odaku (a family-run Korean Japanese fusion place at Parmer & Mopac) for the past year, I finally got the chance to experience dine-in this month and I am still a big fan. My special friend & I celebrated our first date night of 2025 here and everything was great!- Getting a table at 6p on Saturday night was no problem. I could *not* believe there was no wait. This just tells me that too few people know how wonderful the quality of food & service is at Odaku.- Table service was friendly, knowledgeable, prompt, and unobtrusive, exactly what I'm looking for on a date night or really any time.- Food was sooo good! Beautiful presentation, fresh ingredients, tasty, well-executed. We had sushi this night, ordering 2 huge rolls (9 pieces each!) and a chef's choice nigiri dinner (9 thick pieces). I typically stick with sashimi, as I am not a fan of overly sauced, mostly rice rolls drowning in mayo, but Odaku kept every component in balance.- Price was reasonable for the high quality of the products, especially compared to our other excellent but overbooked alternative spot across the highway. We had such a great meal and conversation over a shared bottle of junmai. Now that we know Saturday night isn't a hassle (at least at our preferred early dinner hour), we will definitely be back here for future date nights. I'm looking forward to more exploration of the Korean side of the menu, too.I also noticed that the back north section of the restaurant has several traditional floor-seated tables with cooktops for 8 or so people. This looks like a fun option for a large group who want to do Korean BBQ or hot pot."
"Friday night, it was packed. It was also expected. The wait time wasn't bad, 20 min. I got a text when they had a table ready. We sat down and were offered water. A long wait after we had a server come by and we gave her our order. The food didn't take long to come out. It is large portions. I thought I ate about half until I dished the left overs in a box, and realized how much more was actually left. Wow! I ordered the crab rangoons. It's an order of 5 and they are very delicious. I also ordered the orange chicken which came with white rice in a separate small bowl. The orange chicken has a wonderful sauce and some perfectly steamed broccoli. (It did heat very well the next day in the oven) so I really got 2 great meals. Service was slow, took a long time to get our check. We had to ask someone if they could get our server. But it was packed and I'm sure it was just an over sight. They did turn the projectors on and the wall was like a moving aquarium. Very nice scenery to look at. Hope to be back again."
"We have been coming to Nagoya for years. Their bento boxes are great, sushi is fresh, and hibachi is amazing. We also enjoy sitting at the bar and chatting with the bartender, CJ (she has worked here for years and she is great!) You really can't go wrong with Nagoya."
"I have three words for you:FROZEN SAKE SLUSHY!!!!!OMFG it is probably one of the greatest frozen drinks I've ever had. I more you sip, the stronger it gets. Let's talk sushi:From the Northern Lights to Ebi Tempra and everything in between, you will never go wrong. The absolute freshest ingredients!"
"Anytime we need a good sushi fix, Tadashi does not disappoint. My absolute favorite on the menu is the Hawaiian sunset roll which includes just about everything - a good mix of flavor and texture. Service is generally pretty attentive."
"Bon is a very modern, very Japanese venue off of 620 in Bee Cave. The restaurant itself is sharp, clean with impressive graphics and a massively intimidating menu. I need to qualify this in advance and admit that I've spent some time in Japan and love the country and its people. I've never been anywhere that the locals were more cordial and friendly. I also appreciate its cuisine and the cultural underpinnings of all that. I'm close to being a sushi and nigiri snob and would kill to find a place here that makes credible okanimayaki.Bon is a tension between presenting genuine Japanese cuisine and catering to the Americanized view of that. Witness an embarrassingly huge choice of rolls but also an impressive variety of nigiri and sashimi. Cutting to the chase, their nigiri is as fresh as you're going to get in landlocked Central Texas. The sake toro and the hamachi toro are just splendid and decadently large (no way to do them in one bite). Subtle, tender and with a well done rice base. I tried the unagi as an experiment that I won't do again. Frankly, I can't remember which of the myriad rolls I tried, but it was above decent. Sushi rolls are a nod to what Americans want and more a credit to the imagination of the local chef than an expression of Japanese. One companion was very pleased with her roll choices. The second, on the other hand, had an udon noodle soup. Now, we've been to Muragami, the udon noodle capital of the known universe. Udon noodle soups there are favored by god. The broth is the key, and each soup is an expression of its region and its cook. Bon's was subpar. Watery and lacking. That cost them a star (and almost two). As a choice for Japanese food in Bee Cave, you can't do better. Americanized or not."
"Wonderful food and great service well worth coming here it's amazingHaving next get together here"
"No beer no sake no sushi. No bueno. But everything else is delicious. Best miso soup. Pot stickers and build your own bowl is great. The new additions here are:Japanese crepesGelato Luck Burgers Service is now done on a kiosk. So less people work here. Great music!"
"September 2024Ordered food for delivery. My 5 stars is for the one sushi roll I had - the Hottie Girl Roll w/side of siracha and eel sauce. This is middle-of-the-road sushi. Nothing mind blowing, but it scratches the itch. I love spicy food so this roll really nailed it for me. The sweet eel sauce offered a great balance to the heat. Would definitely order this again."
"servers are always super nice and check up on you pretty consistently and keeps us updated on our order if it's taking long ! food is great it's become my favorite restaurant to go to :) !!!"
"Great food, great service! We loved the sushi And the price was also on point. I recommend this place"
"Husband and I came here for a belated Valentine's Day dinner on the 15th, after having had a positive to-go dinner a couple of weeks prior. The location is pretty small, indoor dining only, with a modest host stand to the right, couches for those waiting for take-out or seating, and a modest open sushi bar area. We took advantage of the holiday specials and ordered a bottle of the cold "cherry bomb" sake, Valentine's roll, Avocado ball, gyoza, and Hangry roll.I was impressed with the presentation and quality of everything we ordered, and wish we'd snagged some pictures because it was visually appealing. We did have to wait a bit for our waters, because our waitress didn't realize she was assigned our table. So a tiny bit disorganized. But other than that, each food item was delicious. We treated ourselves to the yuzu cheesecake for dessert and it was so good, though a petite slice. I would certainly come back here, though due to the smaller size restaurant, recommend making reservations."
