"This place has great food and is very quick! Real octopus takoyaki and excellent bulgolgi!!!!"
"Had a birthday dinner there last night and it was terrific. We didn't know anything about eating on a cooking table but the staff explained how these dishes work. You pick different types of protein (we got beef and port meatballs, pork belly, shrimp and scallops. They bring you a pot of broth and put it on a burner that's built-in your table. You put the protein in and simmering broth and when it's cooked, you take it out and dip it into one of a few dipping sauces. Everything we had was really tasty. The seafood was fresh and so was everything else. We shared both of our similar meals and enjoyed everything tremendously. Great service too, we'll be back."

"This place is soo good. The food was fresh and flavorful. The inside was cozy and clean. And the service was like we were in a friend's home. Best Japanese restaurant I've been to in a really long time. You'd never know it from seeing this place on the outside.. total hidden gem"
"I love this place, it is my go to after bowling on Tuesday evenings, from Allison at the bar to the excellent Sushi chefs it is all top notch.....5 stars."
"Wonderful food and great service well worth coming here it's amazingHaving next get together here"
"Finally my dream of 2AM sushi on the east side is a possibility! I stumbled upon this food truck last night on a walk around 6th st - it's in the little food truck park next to Ramen Tatsuya. I had a couple hand rolls - they were amazing! The shrimp tempura was especially tasty: so crispy and with a great sauce. I wish I'd been able to try more from their menu (everything sounded good, they have hibachi and some izakaya snacks) but I'm sure I'll be back soon for more, especially since they seem to be open till 2 on weekends. I post this review in hopes that others will ALSO go late at night and they'll keep these vampire hours."
"Sushi Yume is FANTASTIC!! We were in the area for work and spotted this place nearby with great reviews - and boy, are this reviews justified!Everything was phenomenal! Service was lighting fast and friendly ! It was cold out so we began with Miso Soup that was perfect and also a deal at just $2 a bowl! Then I tried two of their Sashimi- a salmon with ruffle and tuna with jalapeño! Born some of the best o have ever had! It was all amazing and made for a perfect lunch!!"
"September 2024Ordered food for delivery. My 5 stars is for the one sushi roll I had - the Hottie Girl Roll w/side of siracha and eel sauce. This is middle-of-the-road sushi. Nothing mind blowing, but it scratches the itch. I love spicy food so this roll really nailed it for me. The sweet eel sauce offered a great balance to the heat. Would definitely order this again."
"Great food and affordable happy hour, decent location with very little parking and the vibe is kinda boring now. It's a bit generic compared to it's previous location. But we also went in the middle of the day so I feel like it would look nicer in the evening. I will say the side of the building we sat on was facing a very busy parking lot which is kinda distracting if you're with other people. The food was great and the service was fast. I feel like they did a great job refilling drinks and checking in on us. I also was not feeling well and they took great care of me. Their green tea is very good! I don't remember what rolls I got but I remember liking it but it was not mind blowing by any means. I feel like this is a solid spot to visit for happy hour. If you like mac and cheese you HAVE to get the sake Mac and Cheese. That's literally the thing that always brings me back."
"Bon is a very modern, very Japanese venue off of 620 in Bee Cave. The restaurant itself is sharp, clean with impressive graphics and a massively intimidating menu. I need to qualify this in advance and admit that I've spent some time in Japan and love the country and its people. I've never been anywhere that the locals were more cordial and friendly. I also appreciate its cuisine and the cultural underpinnings of all that. I'm close to being a sushi and nigiri snob and would kill to find a place here that makes credible okanimayaki.Bon is a tension between presenting genuine Japanese cuisine and catering to the Americanized view of that. Witness an embarrassingly huge choice of rolls but also an impressive variety of nigiri and sashimi. Cutting to the chase, their nigiri is as fresh as you're going to get in landlocked Central Texas. The sake toro and the hamachi toro are just splendid and decadently large (no way to do them in one bite). Subtle, tender and with a well done rice base. I tried the unagi as an experiment that I won't do again. Frankly, I can't remember which of the myriad rolls I tried, but it was above decent. Sushi rolls are a nod to what Americans want and more a credit to the imagination of the local chef than an expression of Japanese. One companion was very pleased with her roll choices. The second, on the other hand, had an udon noodle soup. Now, we've been to Muragami, the udon noodle capital of the known universe. Udon noodle soups there are favored by god. The broth is the key, and each soup is an expression of its region and its cook. Bon's was subpar. Watery and lacking. That cost them a star (and almost two). As a choice for Japanese food in Bee Cave, you can't do better. Americanized or not."
"Researched sushi in San Marcos and this one had a high rating from over 200 Yelpers. Sure to not disappoint I thought, but Yelp has failed me this time surprisingly. This place is a 3-star quality restaurant tops. FOOD: Shrimp tempura (2/5) seemed like it came out of a frozen box. Bulgogi-Don (3/5) was decent but the bowl looked sad in terms of their beef ration. The Volcano sushi (3/5) was mediocre even after sitting on its own puddle of oil. And finally, the Double Spicy sushi (2/5) was double the disappointment. The sushi on top felt too cold/icy. SERVICE: The waitress was very nice so no complaints here. LOCATION: It is located in the middle of Texas State University inside a strip mall with plenty of parking. NOTEWORTHY: Relatively cheap, which is probably very attractive to the college kids on campus. But you get what you pay for."
"I have three words for you:FROZEN SAKE SLUSHY!!!!!OMFG it is probably one of the greatest frozen drinks I've ever had. I more you sip, the stronger it gets. Let's talk sushi:From the Northern Lights to Ebi Tempra and everything in between, you will never go wrong. The absolute freshest ingredients!"

Tasty and fresh sushi. This place is small, intimate and feels comfortable. You're able to have a conversation without having to yell. Our waiter was very nice and accommodating. We started with the spicy garlic edamame. It is definitely spicy, but very delicious. I had the Alaska roll and the salmon and crab tasted fresh. Overall, this place is worth visiting and I'm looking forward to trying another roll.

Came here for date night and we had a great time!! We started with oysters, a savory raw fish, and the pork gyoza and they were so delicious!! We got the Japanese hotpot next and it was ok, I wish the broth was a more flavorful, it was too bland for my liking. Luckily there were a lot of dipping sauces that I ended up putting in to make up for the lack of flavor. I liked the pork belly and scallops for meat but the chicken meatballs were not good, something about the flavor profile was bitter and off putting to me. I got sake to drink and it was delicious!! The server was very nice and knowledgeable about the menu!!

Fish is fresh so fresh it melts in your mouth. Tiny hole in the wall run by a wife and husband - and that's it. Please be patient with them because how much can 2 people actually do. I came in near the end of the night and we were the only table left but the wife was super friendly trying to make conversation with us. I must recommend this spot because it is definitely a hidden gem with an excellent combo deal. All the more boujee spots around Austin can't compete with this mom and pop authentic feel of a sushi restaurant!

I ordered a salmon avocado roll and chicken hibachi (add veggies for $3) and it was all disappointing. The hibachi lacked flavor and these $3 veggies were clearly a frozen bag of peas and carrots and a few small zucchini's thrown in. Definitely not worth $3. I wouldn't even call this hibachi style, or even fried rice. As for the sushi, it had a weird taste to it. Probably would not try this place again.

This is my favorite sushi bar in Georgetown hands down, the new(er) owners maintained the quality of the food that I loved so much. Staff is always so nice and the chefs are so talented. I feel like everything always tastes fresh, I've truly never left disappointed. Highly recommend.

I can't believe it took me so long to find this spot! The food is delicious and fresh, the staff is extremely kind, and the restaurant is lovely and clean. I had actually gotten a blister from walking earlier in the day but didn't have any bandaids with me. The staff gave me a bandaid and I am so very appreciative for it Can't wait to be back!! Highly recommend.

Raku AYCE in Round Rock offers a classic all-you-can-eat (AYCE) experience, though with some surprises that set it apart from the usual buffet-style fare. One pleasant surprise was the inclusion of nigiri, which was quite delicious despite the general expectation of lower-quality sushi in AYCE settings. However, as is typical with many buffets, the sashimi was a bit too rice-heavy, diluting the experience of the fresh fish. Some of the sushi pieces, like the salmon, were unfortunately a letdown, as it was obvious they were dyed, which detracted from the overall quality. If you're a sushi purist, it's best to steer clear of those pieces. The hot food selections were pretty standard for an AYCE buffet, with a few highlights and low points. The sweet and sour chicken, for example, was overcooked and skimpy on the chicken, more batter than meat. On the flip side, the lo mein was well-executed, flavorful, and a comforting option. Oddly, white rice had to be requested, which was a surprising inconvenience for a buffet.A unique offering at Raku is the all-you-can-drink ramune, a pricey Japanese soda that's a fun addition to the menu. It's rare to find such an option in AYCE establishments, so that was a nice touch for those who enjoy this bubbly treat. When it came to desserts, the cake was dry and tasted far from fresh, likely pre-made and left out for too long. But the true star of the menu was without a doubt the crab legs. They were flavorful and worth multiple trips back to the buffet. Unfortunately, the butter served alongside them was cold and congealed, sitting as an unappealing lump next to the otherwise impressive crab legs, which took away from the full enjoyment of the dish.My wife particularly enjoyed the mussels and clams, which were well-prepared and plentiful. The crab rangoon was another hit, fried to crispy perfection and filled with just the right amount of cream cheese. The deep-fried dumplings, however, were a bit lackluster, clearly frozen, and didn't have the fresh, crisp bite you'd hope for.One odd thing we noticed was that the hot pot section looked promising, though we didn't try it ourselves. It's something we might consider next time. The selection of teas and sparkling water was also quite extensive, which was a nice touch for those seeking a variety of beverages. One key tip: go for lunch. The price difference is significant, and it's well worth it if you're looking for value. However, a strange thing happened when we went toward the end of lunch service on a Friday. As they began prepping and setting out fresh dishes for the dinner crowd, we were informed we couldn't access those new items, which left us feeling a bit short-changed.Overall, Raku AYCE has a few highlights, like the nigiri and crab legs, but there are certainly areas where the quality feels typical of the AYCE experience. If you know what to avoid and hit the best dishes, it's worth a visit, especially if you're aiming for the lunch special.

"Wow. What a great experience. I need to come back. I've eaten a lot of sushi in a lot of different cities and countries. I think toshokan is in my top three favorites in Austin. I'd say it's in my top ten out of all the places I've had omakase. Quality of ingredients is amazing.Everything about the space and experience feels intentional. It's small, 6 seats. There isn't anything extraneous or showy. It's just you, the chefs, the bartender, the food. If you don't like to meet new people or converse with other patrons, this is not the experience for you. It's so few people dining together, it's a really nice and friendly atmosphere between patrons and the chefs and bartender. I think if this was 8-12 seats, you could get away with not really taking part in conversation. But my dining experience included four people because two people didn't show (which is wild because these reservations are SO hard to get??) so it would've been difficult to not converse.Food is amazing, drinks are amazing. You learn about the food and where it's sourced, and the bartender is really knowledgeable about what she serves patrons. I'm definitely coming back!Parking is free in the sand/dirt lot in the back, if you can find a space. You arrive through the back, and wait by the bookcase to get checked in. You're welcome to explore the holey moley space if you arrive early."
"This place is exquisite! If you enjoy seafood, you are going to go home the most satisfied. The minimal ingredients used by the chefs to enhance the flavors to make your dish taste so rich and exquisite, it is mind blowing and extremely satisfying. SO let's start with the ambiance - as good as you will imagine for an upscale restaurantservice - same comment as above, extremely friendly and sweet staffhas valet parking optionsFood - we tried the modified Omakase ( I know there is a name to it but it just isn't popping into my head lol), this is where your server will ask you questions based on your meat/flavors/budget preferences and then curate a menu for you, confirm with you before placing the order, and then it starts!! We got 7-8 dishes, with the most delicious tasting fish, mushroom, snap fried chicken I have ever tried. These flavors are what make you understand the price point behind these restaurants. I definitely don't remember the name of everything we ate but I will attach photos for atleast some idea. The service was quick, constant checking in which I appreciated because it is kind of a surprise menu lol. But yeah, a must have experience for sure! The Omakase goes upto $350+. We paid $250 (w/o tip) for our meal and I am happy about it!Thanks for a great time Uchiko :)"
"Amazing and helpful service. Great happy hour maki! Don't miss the scallops. And the mock cocktail with soda and green tea and vanilla was so refreshing and Devine. Definitely ordered a lot during happy hour. Yummy Yummy sushi happy place."
"Service was strange. We also wandered in on a Sunday cause the last three stops were closed. Food was good. Garage to park in was around the corner. Ambience was strange pumping loud club music on the middle of a Sunday with a light crowd while serving up 100$+ pp meals hah Overall, it had some unique dishes that were tasty if you're feeling like a lunch on the pricey side but at that price point there are also better options, maybe not in Austin tho? I don't know but certainly in LA or the Bay. I liked it and if nothing was open and I was in the area again I'd probably pop by again."
"TLDR: pretty standard burger fare. Came here for a quick weekend lunch. Service and such were as to be expected, nothing remarkable, but everyone was polite and the food came out quickly. For the food, the burger itself was subpar. The meat was good, but was way to small for the bun and accoutrement. Either size up the patty, or size down everything else to balance out the burger. The fries are a bit different. they are long, thick twists. I didn't really notice any difference between them and regular steak fries, but they were good regardless of the novelty. Overall, the burger was so/so, and there are better options around Austin. 3/10"
"Great Sushi/Sashimi place in Leander. Spice level is mild and well received. Location being close is a big plus.Tuna Special appetizer - very fresh and dense. Wait staff is friendly. Parking is good but was under repair today and blocked off in several spots . Should be completed as you read this.My feeling - a nice neighborhood spot with good food and attentive staff."
"We were rather disappointed in Wasabi. From the beginning to the end it was in disarray. Parking was very tough and the restaurant was full in the doorway because of the takeout customers. We luckily had a reservation and were seated right away.A man dressed like a manger greeted us and took our drink order then ran off. The restaurant was extremely busy and he was the only server. I found that to be a very foolish decision especially since this was Valentine's Day! Let's plan better for the busiest day of the year shall we? We waited quite a while but then our food came. We ordered a sushi roll after getting our appetizers and dessert. Those took a long time so it's a good thing we didn't wait longer to order. We got our food and I unrolled my fork to find it was gross and dirty! Please polish your silverware before rolling them up next time.I wanted dessert and they were completely out of ice cream (green tea, vanilla, and chocolate!) The server told me they only had tempura cheesecake, I got it and I never expected scalding hot cheesecake! It was something I would not order again. Needless to say it was not the most pleasant dining experience."
"On my Sunday-Funday, my partner and I headed to Sushi Koen for some sushi. Recently, I have been sent numerous text from various people regarding the 'dangers' of consuming fish. But, how can you have sushi without great fish? Fresh fish is important for sushi because it tastes better, looks better, and is safer to eat. However, most sushi restaurants and bars in the United States serve fish that has been frozen to kill parasites. This is because the only way to kill parasites in raw fish is to freeze it. Regardless of the method, there is no reason to worry because every restaurant must follow the FDA sushi guidelines to be open. These standards determine the fish preservation process to achieve safe consumption. Regarding the conservation temperature, they established a minimum of 4ºC (41ºF), and during the delivery process, both the supplier and the restaurant must guarantee that the fish is protected from contaminating agents. The sushi served here is buttery in that it melts into your mouth with each bite. The freshness of the fish and expert preparation makes the sushi dishes here hard to beat. The service provided here is prompt and friendly."
"Chef Choo's sushi is the best in town! Everything is so fresh and beautiful! I've had the omakase before and today I tried a couple of new menu items - the Ichi and the Ume. Of course they were both incredible and huge portions!Chef Choo is a master in the kitchen and his dishes are masterpieces. You definitely want to place your order asap and enjoy an omakase at home! He's also the nicest human!"
"Kinda wish that this place wasn't so good because one wagyu bowl was quite pricey, but I enjoyed it so much so I guess I will have to be back! The meat was so tender. I also enjoyed the gyudon dish, wish it came with an egg like how they serve it in Japan though. Good service, owner was very nice. Food came out fairly quick. This food truck is located in the domain so it was very easy to find parking and walk over. They had one table but if you just walk around the Domain, you can find plenty of places to sit to enjoy your meal. I would definitely come back! I want to try their desserts next time."
"No beer no sake no sushi. No bueno. But everything else is delicious. Best miso soup. Pot stickers and build your own bowl is great. The new additions here are:Japanese crepesGelato Luck Burgers Service is now done on a kiosk. So less people work here. Great music!"
"My most disappointing dining experience in Austin where I took my parents hoping they would have a memorable experience.Checked-in ~7 minutes late (certainly my fault to some degree trying to make an early reservation after work) but also because they offer valet parking but there was no attendant so had to self-park. Otoko then proceeds to not serve us the first couple opening courses and printed a shortened menu without notice. When I asked, they claimed we were over 10 minutes late which was not true. To not give a little grace period and also overstate our late time felt heavy handed and just petty for a $250+ per person experience. If your schedule is really that rigid, then be transparent and send a reminder of your strict rules in advance.Furthermore, they didn't tell us until we sat down that Executive Chef Yoshi went to serve a private event. Not a big deal in most instances but pretty critical for an Omakase experience where the show is watching the sushi chef mastery in front of you. Again, the point is be upfront and give customers full information.Overall, I would have hoped for a little more flexibility, transparency, and hospitality but instead their reaction was poor form and almost arrogance where it feels like they can do what they want because they collected the full payment with 20% gratuity upfront. Spoke to the manager about the course cutting who said she would talk to the chef the next day and no follow-up response."
"GET THE UNI PASTA. This was hands down the best dish we ate. It was super creamy and flavorful. I want to come back just to get this pasta again! We ordered four skewers: unagi, negima, sunagimo, and yakiton. The unagi (eel) and negima (chicken thigh w/ scallions) were my favorites of the four we tried. The eel was so soft, and the chicken thigh was incredible juicy with a sauce that wasn't overly sweet. The yakiton (pork belly) was flavorful as well and had a nice char to it but was just on the tougher side for my preference. As for the sushi, you can't go wrong with either the tuna or yellowtail. We also ordered the chestnut mont blanc for dessert. I'm a HUGE fan of mont blanc, so I was excited to try this but it was just alright. I enjoyed the chestnut filling in the middle, but I felt it was lacking enough chestnut flavor overall."
"Great! Just amazing! We ordered ex-girlfriend the Diablo Casanova yellowtail and salmon sishi and the Mexican. Great! They threw in some rare yellowtail belly!"
"miso is my favorite restaurant when i'm craving korean food in austin. not only do they offer delicious korean food but their sushi rolls are also such good quality as well. it is pretty pricey here ($20-30 for the meal) but they offer really good lunch prices. my go tos are their dolsot bibimbap with spicy pork, spicy pork bulgogi bento, and spicy yellowtail roll."
"I dropped by here on a Friday lunchtime for a quick pick-me-up. The restaurant was busy with people eating here as well as working/studying. We ordered a black sesame latte with oat milk and a caramel miso latte. 4/5 Black Sesame Latte- It had a good nuttiness to it but was not too sweet. Overall a solid drink still.4.5/5 Caramel Miso Latte- tasted like ice cream! It was really good for someone who likes sweet and creamy drinks. I personally like less sweet drinks a little more though, but it was still delicious.Overall with the plethora of seating and also cute decorations, I would hope to come back to try more drinks and maybe get some remote work done!"
"What happened to this place? It used to be SO GOOD!The last time I was here, before my recent visit, was probably around 12-13 years ago when the super white tuna was plump, fresh, and would overhang on a little lump of rice-- how a perfect piece of nigiri should be. This time it was tough, tiny, and honestly, I was so sad. I have no idea what went down through these years, but it must have been some shit, because the sushi tasted like it's been sitting there for weeks.Used to think so highly of this place, but damn, it has gone downhill to the max. Is it the economy? Are we skimping on fresh fish? --keeping it longer than advised? Ugh.Ambience is still ok and service is acceptable, but sadly, I likely won't be back."
"Was in the area and hubby and I ordered take-out from our usual food hall as we returned home from our son's house in Austin. Had the Oyako Rice Bowl and potstickers. They were packaged nicely and food was nice and warm when we received it. We'll be back!"
"First time using delivery for them (Yelp option routes this establishment through grubhub)--it was elusive for quite a while. I recommend preordering before they open or doing it early in their service hours; otherwise you get the message ordering is closed. May have to do with their parking lot, which gets pretty packed just with dine in and to-go customers.NY STRIP was cooked medium rare as stated in the menu. Haven't found a speck of gristle. Very good with teriyaki sauce, crunchy onions, and nori toppings and their standard arranged rice/cabbage/ginger base. I'd grabbed a fork/knife when I felt there were zero utensils in the grubhub bag, but in proper style the steak was already cut to be chopstick ready. Apologies to Don for my brief, rash assumption.EBI 4pc I should have opened and sampled this box first, since while I was eating steak steam was having a go at their perfect crunchy coating which suffered a bit for it. Still delicious, of course. Beautiful fat sweet shrimp with enjoyable properly cooked texture.VEGGIE CROQUETTE My first chance at it, as Mr T didn't share the Lenten croquette I ordered with his stir fry this spring. All the deep fried pleasure without the meat sweats, it was lovely. Only veg I recognized (as I took off tiny pieces to share with the pups) was delicious sweet corn. If I ever made croquettes--my house never has spare mashed potatoes for some reason--I'd aim to make them as good as these. It's obviously best fresh, but I'm enjoying leftovers the next day and feeling spoiled with new-to-me dishes. It's hard ordering anything other than their amazing pork belly when it's available. Try anything, including all their sauces if you're dining in. I haven't tasted one thing I've regretted here and their employees have been great every single visit."
"Wow! This was great good periodt! Not good for vegan, just good over all. Intimate ambiance, great service, unique menu. The Brussels sprouts were very impressive! I thought ththey had to be covered in bacon to taste good, but alas there was no bacon in sight and i couldn't stop eating them! The rolls were also fantastic and i didn't miss the real fish at all. The eggplant katsu curry was a little underwhelming compares to the rest of the items but still quite tasty."
"What an incredible restaurant! Cedar parks hidden gem!The food was incredible! The sushi had so much flavor! The hidden menu one was our favorite! Had a nice kick to it and was probably the best sushi I've had! All of them were great to be honest! The service was impeccable! The checked in on us constantly and everyone from check in to seating did a fabulous job being kind and welcoming!Very clean and great location! Definitely will be back"
"Food is delicious, new location is conveniently located. Service was quick and personable. Would definitely go back."
"Made a reservation for 4:30 PM on Valentine's Day. Valet parking was easy to do. You can pay and tip through many different apps. The restaurant is easy to find get inside and friendly customer service right away with a smile. I got my table and it was a patio with heaters. Very nice to feel. The service was great easy to understand and ask questions vegetarian menu was given to me I was able to pick out the choices that I can make into vegans choices so did a lot of modifications, but I got the food choices and I was very happy with them all .it was very busy and each presentation I took a picture of and I was happy with most every single thing that I have had .now the wait time was very long for some things to the point where I cut off two of my menu choices because I was going to be late for my second appointment that night. I was finished dinner at seven and I couldn't push any longer because I had appointment at 7:30 to be at so I had to cancel two of my food choices sadly. I feel the customer service could've been a little bit more upbeat and a little bit more efficient because I did see my waiter talking to another customer just about life for more than two minutes where there was an five tables before dad had asked him for help, including me. The tables were very nice and clean. The only thing I had the problem with my table was the leg was shaking, so the table kept shaking, even though they fixed it for a little bit the table kept shaking. I feel that at some point of time there was over 10 minute wait for each item and it became at some .20 minute weight and it was just nice to be able to ask questions about the menu and get details and I tried something new that was called hot rock, which was a mushroom and you had to almost cook it on like a hot burner yourself, which was a wonderful experience each, and every choice that I made a food menu was very special and unique to me because I was able to make it Vegan and that says a lot because the menu was not vegan at all. I hope to go back and make another reservation and try all my food choices again and also change a few things around now that I have learned from the first time."
