"1st time visiting this location on 06/04/2022, which was a day after "National Donut Day" & I wish that I could capture the sweet yummy~ness that lingered in the air when you walk inside Shipley Do-Nuts in my photos! I have to give kudos to the employee working on Saturday because she gave the BEST customer service! And not only was the customer service 5+++ stars, the freshness & variety of donuts to choose from were also 5+++++ stars! I bought about 6 different types of donuts (apple fritters, glazed, donut twists, strawberry filled donut, ect) and they each were very fresh & so delicious. "We walked here while waiting in line for Snow's bbq. Let me tell you, these donuts are insanely fresh! We got a batch that came right out of the fryer, and I am not exaggerating when I say these are probably the best donuts j have ever had. Classic donuts, but airy and melt in your mouth. "My boyfriend and I were looking for a simple breakfast, and we decided to stop by S-H Donuts. He had been here for donuts before, but this was my first time. The parking lot was packed (S-H shares a lot with a barber shop, a coffee truck, and 2 food trucks), but we luckily snagged a spot just as someone was leaving. There were a few people ordering inside, which gave us time to look over the displays of food and the menu. My boyfriend ended up getting an apple fritter and a cinnamon roll (he said they were fantastic!) and I got a croissant breakfast sandwich with egg, sausage, and cheese (it was delicious!). The employees taking our order were very nice, and they worked quickly. There is also some booths inside if you want to sit and eat there, although we took everything to go. I look forward to coming back! Hopefully they'll have apple cider donuts in the fall!"

"Excellent sausage and boudin kolaches. Great kolache breakfast sandwich. Sausage egg and cheese kolache not very flavorful. I lived in Houston for 8 years and kolaches are one of the things I miss most about Texas. Kolaches and Chicken Fried Steak were highest on my list of cravings for this trip, and S-H nailed it with their sausage and cheese, sausage, cheese and jalapeno and jumbo versions of the same. The jalapeno boudin kolache was out of the park. I wish they had a bacon egg and cheese kolache, but the kolache sandwich made up for it. The staff was very friendly and polite. I've bookmarked this place for next time, and will be returning tomorrow morning!"

"The place looks very clean with a plain and simple decor. It got busy after I arrived in the later morning; the staff was friendly and they handled the customer volume very well. The restroom was out of order, so when I needed it, I was S.O.L. (pun intended). I came only for a donut; I bought one and a coffee. The donut was fair, but nothing to write home about. The coffee was not good. They have a few standard bench tables where you can sit down to eat. They also sell some hot foods like kolaches. There are also two large drink coolers with a fairly large selection of beverages, including milk."

The owners are a husband and wife duo, where the wife works the counter and the husband primarily works in the back. Grand Donut truly cares about quality, and it's clear in everything they serve--whether it's their classic donuts, creative seasonal offerings, kolaches, breakfast tacos, or breakfast sandwiches. This is not your average donut shop, it's exceptional. The breading on their kolaches is perfect. While I'm a regular fan of the sausage and cheese kolaches, I like to treat myself to a Boudin Kolache every now and then. If you've never heard of or tried a Boudin Kolache, then you're probably not from Houston or Louisiana. So, what is Boudin? It's a spicy Cajun sausage made with rice and meat--and trust me, it tastes way better than it sounds!If you aren't so daring, it's okay. You can start with one of their fruit or sausage kolaches, grab a donut or a taco, whatever it is, you can't go wrong!"

"First off, the set up is cool. Its a trailer but they have a ton of outdoor sitting/doughnut garden where you can sit and enjoy. These things are not doughnuts, they are doughcakes ! They freshly fry and make all the doughnuts to order, and these things can feed 12. I got the peanut butter and jelly doughnut, filed with grape jelly, peanut butter icing, and pb chips.We came here after eating a huge BBQ lunch, so I was in the mood for something sweet, and boy was it sweet. Even though it was sweet, the doughnut pastry holds up to all the toppings and fillings, and I really have never had anything like it. Everything is truly bigger in TX!"

They also have a coffee bar. I opted for a mix of donut holes as well as a churro dulce de leche donut. I highly recommend getting a mix of the donut holes to try a variety. The churro dulce de leche donut was also fantastic. It had a creamy filling inside that was not overly sweet.The space is warm and inviting. There's ample seating if you prefer to enjoy your donuts and/or coffee inside!"

"Jo's Hot Coffee Good Food on South Congress is a fun spot to visit, especially for their famous "I love you so much" graffiti wall. You'll likely see people taking photos next to it, as it's right by where you place your order.I ordered the Iced Turbo, and it was super delicious. As someone who's Asian and generally cautious about overly sweet drinks, I didn't find it too sweet at all. They also offer a less sweet option called the Belgian, which I might try next time.I visited on a winter Thursday afternoon, and there was practically no wait. The weather was gorgeous, and I loved taking advantage of their shaded outdoor seating. It looks like they also offer some breakfast items that are sold until they run out, but I didn't try any on this visit.I'd definitely go back for their coffee again - it's a great spot to enjoy a drink and soak in the South Congress vibes!"

"We were at the brewery next door and didn't realize they didn't serve food until we got there. However, this food truck was open and we hadn't had lunch. It's a donut truck, but they also serve sandwiches on grilled donuts!!! We decided to split a club sandwich. I don't know if it was the donut that made it so delicious or the cheese or both - but it was one of the most delicious club sandwiches I've ever had. If it wasn't for the fact that it has to be SOOO unhealthy, I would have eaten the entire thing myself. What a genius idea! Definitely stop by and check it out!"

"During our vacation to Austin, we came here in search of the famous "Hook 'em Horns" doughnut, but to no avail. Apparently, the donut shop stopped making them years ago, probably due to the lawsuit brought upon them by the University of Texas to cease using the longhorn image that they had trademarked.So what else does this small, modest donut shop have? Well, other donuts of course. When we arrived on a Monday morning at 11AM, there were still plenty of donuts left with most of the flavors still being produced. The donut shop was pretty quiet with just a few customers and a few tables for people to sit down at. We ended up ordering the maple bacon donut and a lavender donut along with some munchkins/donut holes. I know it's not really a great enough sample size to give my full opinion of the donut shop, but the donuts were solid. I can't say they were any more spectacular than my local donut shop though, but everything was good in an OK way."
