"We returned back to Almarah and had another great experience! The staff were so great! Knowledgeable about the menu, spices and flavors. The restaurant was busy but the staff were very quick and on top of everything! Our table had a variety of foods which included: hummus and pita bread, gyros, beef plate, chicken plate and also falafel! Everything was fresh and delicious! This is a must try spot! We will continue to come here!"
"They brought 4 slices of sourdough to start the meal with butter and we ordered a dozen oysters! Can't remember the names of them but it was by far the best oysters I've ever had and I've had a lot."

"Ok. I have been going to Musashino since 96 when it was on Mopac near Anderson and Tyson Cole was a sous chef there. Before covid it had gone through a rough patch and their sushi had lost the beauty and taste. Their new location brings a fresh, yet traditional, breath to limited Austin sushi offering. I love the new location. The menu is smaller than what it was, but everything is good and the service is top notch."
"Best churros in Austin!!Lots of dipping sauce options with seasonal specials that are always delicious and so fun to try.It is a good truck but there is plenty of outdoor seating all the time and the staff are always incredibly friendly.I always try to visit when I get the chance!"
"One of my favorite bakeries! The cakes are amazing and the service is great. This bakery is always busy and the parking lot gets full quickly! They have a delicious assortment of baked goods with indoor seating consisting of round cafe tables and chairs. Outdoor picnic table seating is also available. This is my go to bakery for special occasions!"
"4.5 StarsWe came here for happy hour on a Tuesday. The establishment boasts an inviting atmosphere with plentiful indoor and outdoor seating, featuring a beautifully designed patio and tasteful adorable interior. The menu is "Asian fusion with a Southern Twist" - love the creativity. Our culinary journey began with a refreshing margarita and appetizers: charred Brussels sprouts ($9), Cheese Corn ($9), and Banh Mih pork belly tacos ($4.50 each during HH). The happy hour menu offered impressive prices, and the real star was the pork belly taco - a decadent, succulent generously sized creation that easily deserved five stars by itself. The Cheese Corn is super heavy and buttery. i definitely food coma'd after that lol. But I could not stop eating it!The Brussels sprouts were a delightful side- lightly crispy and glazed with a sweet, oily finish. However, the Bulgogi-style steak special ($23 on Tuesdays) was a significant disappointment. Tough, flavorless, and nearly inedible, it seemed like an unfortunate outlier in an otherwise exceptional meal. What truly elevated the experience was the staff's exceptional service. Our waitress, Lina, was particularly attentive and sweet, embodying the establishment's welcoming spirit.Despite the steak's shortcomings, the overall experience was memorable. The combination of delicious food, creative menu, great happy hour prices, cute vibes, and outstanding service makes this a venue I would enthusiastically recommend - with the caveat to perhaps skip the steak special."
"Our server was amazing- knowledgeable and friendly. The appetizers - the beef tartar was scrumptious. I felt the scallops were overdone and chewy, but dining mates disagreed. Filet was perfect. Mushrooms were amazing! We were in the "well-lit" section so it wasn't warm and fuzzy but once they cut the ac, it was better. Great night out either way friends. We all agreed to return."
"Amazing place. Such a great gem. Très bon! Très bon! Great service with people who speak French, and the interior is very welcoming. Love it, defiantly coming back."
"Came in just for desert (I have ordered food to go and it was very good) Ordered the mango sticky rice and the fried banana and ice cream. The mango sticky rice wasn't bad but I believe we were hoping to have more mango flavor in the rice and not just topped with mango. The fried bananas could use a knife and also just lack a bit of flavor. My personal favorite variation of this comes from shockingly P.F. Chang's and they add some vanilla and caramel drizzle on top and I think I was hoping for a little bit more from both dishes. The service was prompt and even in our short visit our waters were refilled multiple times and staff and attentive.I still highly recommended for dinner."
"Not sure if it's Cat with a C or K but she couldn't have been sweeter just like her delightful desserts! I had a sugar craving and I didn't want the heaviness of a cookie or cake nor ice cream and this was the perfect find! I got the Texas Two Step cuz I'm a nut and toffee addict, perfect crunch! Love that you can also do a half or whole 'nana but I definitely got the whole! Can't wait to come back and try the rest of the menu!"
"I knew this place was gonna be good when the coffee tasted good. This is a family run place, which I love. The decor was so fun and unique. The food was outstanding and the service was great even though they were understaffed. You know this place cares and I can't recommend this place enough. I will be back!"
"This place is a hidden gem! I originally placed my order online, but when I got there I found out their tablet that does the online orders was down. No worries! I re-ordered from the nicest gentleman at the front for the 2 folks in my office (& of course I got something too). I ordered them the Fried Idli and Aloo Tiki and I got the Samosas and Mango Lassi. Everything came out hot, fresh and absolutely fantastic! The samosas come w this sauce made out of dates but it's sweet and DIVINE! I could have eaten the sauce solo it was so good! My mango lassi was also perfect consistency and just sweet enough. My staff enjoyed their food and said the fried Idli was VERY good! Hot fresh, crispy on the outside and pillowy soft on the inside. Please give this place a try if you're around! You will not be disappointed!"

I realllly wanted to love this place! I hd very high hopes. I grew up with Lebanese and Persian food around Southern California so i was dying to try this place. The waitress didnt seem top interested, after sitting with empty glasses for over 15 minutes we asked a young man to refill my husband and sons drinks. We ordered gyro and shawarma sandwiches which according to their menu came with fries or salad. Neither was provided. They say they have a beef and lamb shawarma plate but there was no lamb. Prices on the photos online of the menu have changed alsoNone of the food came out at the same time. Everyone had their food with the exception of my sons pizza which came out about 30 minutes after everyone elses food like it had been forgotten. The manager did offer us desserts on the house for that but doesnt change the fact that other than 1 other family who was there before us, the place was empty. Food tasted mediocre at best, we wont be back

Clark's is an absolute gem for seafood lovers in Austin, tucked away in the charming Clarksville neighborhood, just minutes from downtown. This spot has mastered the art of East Coast oysters, and their lobster roll? Pure perfection! While it's definitely on the pricier side, their fantastic happy hour makes indulging a little easier on the wallet. Whether you're craving fresh seafood or just looking for a chic, relaxed vibe, Clark's is a must-visit for any foodie in the city!

Update 01-31-2024Mushashino consistently delivers first rate sushi! As usual, we started with miso soup and a large house hot saki... both delicious. Our second course, as always, was the avocado kama, an avocado partially scooped out and refilled with crabmeat. Nice sauce on the top, outstanding as always. Something new on the menu this time, fried oysters... fixed wonderfully, and oh so tasty! Then began the sushi parade... two blue fin tunas, both fatty, one big eye, the fatty one seared... to die for! Next up, salmon two ways, one king, one fatty... Yum! Followed by yellowtail tuna, one belly, one cheek: both delish! We paused a bit... more hot saki!Jumping back in, first up was something new for us, seared Wagyu, perhaps an odd thing to order at a first rate sushi place, but it was great. We'll definitely get that again! Next on the plate was unagi (fresh water eel), served piping hot... always one of my favorites. On the recommendation of our sushi chef (we always sit at the sushi bar), we had the smoked escolar (mackerel), definitely a Texas-tasting fish! LOL More hot saki...We next enjoyed a pile of tobiko, served battleship-style, very salty and tasty too. More hot saki... A round of salmon skin sushi followed... hard to describe, just get it if you can... At last, we ordered dessert - a combination of uni and salmon roe, again served battleship-style... heaven on a plate, and a great finish to a deliriously delicious dinner! Highly recommend Mushashino! It's a high price tag, but worth every penny IMHO!

I loved the bubbly personality at the window when ordering. So welcoming and cheerful and EXCITED to take our order. Ordered one of the seasonal churros (strawberry shortcake - fresh strawberries and sauce with whip cream ) very yummy and crispy. Also ordered the traditional churro with CBD infusion and Nutella topping . Overall very pleased with the taste and price. Seating is a few picnic tables!

Celebrating Valentine's Day at Uppercrust Bakery! I purchased chocolate covered strawberries for my husband. Thursday will be crazy at the bakery with a bazillion pickups. Decided to avoid the rush and picked them up today. I was the official taste tester before my purchase. While it was busy but not overly busy today, there was a wait in line. I had to wait while they finished up my order.Everything I've eaten at Uppercrust basket I've love. Look forward to my b husband sharing his chocolate covered strawberries with v me...fingers crossed. There was a slight mix up about packaging of the Chocolate covered strawberries but was rectified. The cashier made the appropriate adjustments.Uppercrust basket has high quality baked goods! There were folks in the restaurant eating alone, friends catching up and senior couples.

So, good stuff first: food is spicy and interesting, room is lively, drinks are strong and creative. We (ultimately) had a really good dinner. But before it got good, it was pretty awful.Five of us showed up for a 7:15pm reservation and got escorted to "the private dining room." Spoiler: it's not a private dining room; it's a basement. 20-something other people were eating down there, surrounded by industrial boxes of toilet paper and paper towels. I get it: Bar Peached has gotten popular and there's a ton of demand, but if you're going to seat diners in a windowless basement, you should warn them.We gently asked if there was something upstairs in the, errrr, actual restaurant. We were told it might be a few minutes, which was totally fine. We were there for a birthday and the ambience, happy to wait.Went up to the bar, and night went from odd to embarrassing. We had just ordered a drink and settled in to wait for table, when hostess Alli launched herself our way SCREAMING. "No standing at the bar! Let's go! Get out!" The two members of our party who were sitting in bar stools were allowed to remain; the three who were standing and waiting were marched outside, downstairs, and parked next to a dumpster while we waited for table.I now understand: despite the name, Bar Peached REALLY isn't a bar and takes that incredibly seriously. They want you ordering dinner at bar, not drinks. And they very much don't want anyone standing and waiting. And... okay, I guess? But Alli yelled at us, embarrassed us, talked down to us, and just totally ruined a nice evening. It was baffling behavior -- unnecessary, unhinged, unkind. I gently said as much and the response was "I'm just doing my job." Again, okay, maybe? But wow.We were eventually marched in from the (literal) cold and seated at a terrific table. Dinner was lovely, server was great, food was inventive and delicious. But it's hard to come back from a terrible and insulting start to evening.I stepped outside and spoke to manager during dinner -- she was apologetic and understanding. Explained that the hostess in question "was on her way out." Not sure if that implies a termination or resignation, and it totally doesn't matter. Good she won't be working there anymore, bad she's still behind hostess stand insulting customers with one foot out door.Anyway.This is an adorable little restaurant with a creative menu and stellar cocktails. Secretly, we liked the apps better than the mains and the deserts even better than the apps. But all great. But we won't be back until this young, angry, odd hostess has officially departed. Life too short to get yelled at while dropping $400.

I've been to Jeffrey's over the years and continue to be impressed by the service here and quality of the food. The restaurant has been renovated over time and in its current form has three separate dining areas (bar area, larger dining area and a separate room area between the two) - bench and chair seating throughout. It is a little cozy with the tables being somewhat close together.Hors D'oeuvres that we enjoyed- Truffled Deviled Eggs - shaved truffles but with truffled egg yolks too- Crab & Sesame Beignets- Tarts of Beef TartareCaviar service is also excellent here - comes with soft ware blinis and the usual class accoutrement of egg, egg yolk, red onions, chives and creme fraiche. For mains - we enjoyed:Gulf Snapper en Papillote - gulf snapper cooked in parchment with lump crab, thai basil, king trumpet mushrooms, baby turnip & infused carrot broth. Fragrant and delicately balanced flavors26oz 32 day dry-aged wagyu ribeye from Beeman Ranch. Marbled with the the unctuousness of the dry aging. Served with a few sauces - chimichurri, Jeffrey's steak sauce and some garlic confit and rosemary butter.Seared mushrooms were a nice accompaniment, and the crispy brussels sprouts were a huge hit.

April 21, 2023I was on my way home (back to Galveston) and had to stop at this girly French themed bakery. I got 3 different macarons and a cortado- everything was tres' bien!Love the art on the outside of the structure and the art in the RR-1 window is staind class; it's a window of flowers!

"I don't usually eat Texas barbecue but when in Texas I have to and let me tell you Black's Barbecue did not disappoint! We got the fatty beef brisket, jalapeno-cheese sausage and pork spare ribs to share. Everything was soo tender, juicy and just so good! For sides we got the potato salad, mac and cheese and cream corn. The sides went perfectly with the meat. I also love how you can grab your own onions, pickles and bread because I'm an onion girlie and need a whole lot haha. The workers were very welcoming and friendly and it's a big place with a nice and chill vibe. I know there's many barbecue places here in Texas but I think Black's Barbeque is definitely worth a try!"
"My wife was craving waffles. We couldn't just go to any waffle place. We had to find a place that specialized and made waffles with love. After looking around, we came across waffle love. The name has to say it all.We walked in and felt nice and welcoming. Cashier had so much insight. Let us know what he loved and try the chicken and waffles. Which, by the way, is amazing. We also had the Red Wonder with bananas added to it. This was by far the best waffles I have ever had. So they actually make their waffles with dough and not batter. Which makes them dense and sweet... so good. Never had a genuine Belgium waffle until today. Waffle lo e we will be back ASAP. You can bet!"
"Best Pie in Austin. The Pecan pies was so good we got 3, being a Native Texan + the great state of Texas being known for Pecans, it was legit. Bourbon Chess was good, not too sweet, I had Chess pies before that were way too sweet, and this one wasn't. Not pictured we also had the pie freeze with Pecan pie mixed it. It's essentially tastes like a blizzard, but way better. It's your choice of pie mixed with vanilla custard. Loved it! It's about the size of a pint of ice cream, and they serve it in a cute cup you can keep."
"EXCELLENT BRUNCH. So many fresh choices. Mexican food sampler is the best I have ever seen. Along with the pancakes and desserts! Definitely coming back!"
"BLACK BOTTOM!I don't do too many chocolate cakes/cupcakes, but the black bottom cupcake here is DELICIOUS!!Not overly sweet, extremely moist with a nice cream cheese icing to bring everything together. I hate those icings where it tastes like nothing but sugar, but every icing here is just the perfect sweetness for me, light, and fluffy.Sadly the cupcakes here can be quite costly, but definitely something worth to indulge yourself in.They also make custom cakes/cupcakes, and their look book offers some amazing designs from a huge variety of themes from the baker."
"It was scorching hot in Austin and we spotted Jim-Jim on yelp when we searching for a cool treat. The place is a small stand that seemed quite popular. Despite the size of the shop, they had lots of flavors for the water ice and homemade ice cream.Honestly I was torn about what to get. I really wanted to try the ice cream but also I want the water ice and I knew I could not eat both. So, since I had ice cream earlier in the day, I went with the water ice. I was definitely not disappointed! The flavors were sweet but not cloyingly so. The ice was packed well, the cup made it easy to eat, and the small size was just enough. This was a perfect way to cool off as we walked back to our hotel. All five of us were very pleased with our choices!"
"LOVE this bbq. The brisket, the ribs, and most of the sides are on point. Pro tip: Jalapeño/cheddar sausage isn't on the menu but they serve it until they run out. Try the sweet potato side and the mac n cheese. while the mac is a little peppery it's delicious."
"Attended corporate meetings in Austin and our office treated us to Tiny Pies as an afternoon treat ... and what a great treat! I tried both the pecan and apple pies (half of each ... I didn't go full glutton), and each was delicious, though if I had to choose one the apple would be the winner."
"The closest boba to me, with the best strawberry flavor. I'm pretty sure their strawberry flavor has a cult following, because they occasional sell the scent in perfume form around holidays like Mother's Day and Valentine's Day. I'd buy it. =D"
"Elgin sausage is famous, but I thought that I'd go out to Elgin for some. Meyer's situated right on 290 - blink, and you'll miss it, like I did (the Waze girl must've fallen asleep). I turned around and arrived just a couple minutes after opening, on a Sunday morning. The gal greeting me behind the counter seemed like she was happy to be there, which is always a good sign. I ordered two types of sausage with two sides (potato salad and cole slaw, of course). The sausage was so delicious that it tasted better without the excellent BBQ sauce. The sides were also really good - a large scoop of either, which was sufficient. The pickles tasted odd to me, but I am used to pickles being made differently, I suppose. Freshly-cut onions. The sausage was at center stage, though, and sold the show.Since I was the only dine-in customer (apart from a few takeout orders being picked up), almost to be expected on a Sunday morning, I can't attest to the ambiance except to say that the decor and furnishings were about what one could expect from a family-style Texas BBQ restaurant. They also sell meats that you can cook for yourself, and have to-go package specials, as well. The food and the establishment were just as I'd hoped. I look forward to going back and trying other items on the menu."
"I'm always in search of a Corn In A Cup (Elote). I grew up in Laredo and there's a place called Mr. Corn down there that is the gold standard. So... saw this place and our group decided to try it out. We did get the Elote... but it was not up to par for my taste (corn was not flavorful and the proportions were off) so I'll concentrate on what I felt they did well. Their Magonada was good. It's Mango fruit ice and not chunks of mango, but the flavor was there. The Chamoy and Chamoy straw make it even better. My kid and I split a banana split and that was good. Got a fresh banana, got coconut, butter pecan and vanilla ice cream and 3 cherries on top. They've got an assortment of other delicious concoctions and if you're into delicious and messy snacks and desserts with a south of the border flair. Stop in. The line moves quickly and the prices are fair. Most take it to go, but there are a few picnic tables out front."
"I had one of the best "light" cupcakes ever from ZKB! Meaning, if you ever have a craving for a cupcake, but don't want a hefty one that will have you feeling heavy, ZKB's options are the perfect solution. First of all, the owner seems super cool! I think she was the one behind the counter when I stopped in with my sister on a Friday night. The lights were kind of dim and it definitely had a "homegrown" vibe, but the cupcakes looked absolutely adorable. I got the s'mores cupcake to enjoy at home and it was absolutely delicious! I loved the intricacy of the frosting and graham crumble on top!"
"Their $9 whole smoked chicken on Wednesdays is definitely a steal, and the Family Pack #1 is a great value for feeding a group (which is what we were doing). It's no surprise that my husband and our family were impressed with their BBQ - their reputation for being one of the best in the area speaks for itself. Brisket DAMN soo good. There was no meat we didn't try and they all were excellent. My daughter thought the Turkey would be dry but, nope...#delicious. If you're ever in San Marcos or if you have friends visiting who want to experience excellent Texas BBQ, I highly recommend checking out San Marcos BBQ. You won't be disappointed! We never are."
"I order from this location pretty consistently for work, and it's always been a good experience. All of the cookies I want are always available, the staff is friendly and greets me when I walk in, and the orders are ready fairly quickly. The Crumbl app is so dang easy to use! The cookies always come out great and I know they're delicious."
"Great service. Some of the best bread I've sampled. Needed to bring some on a flight back to SLC, and it held up well for days. Excited to try again when I'm back in town."
"I had hoped this would be like a paneer pizza from any fast food chain in India. And that was the case, mostly. The person at the store was really helpful in answering our questions and guiding us to an order we were happy with. The medium size spicy paneer was comfortable for 2, but if you're really hungry a large size could work too. The flavors were good and the amount of paneer topping was generous. The crust isn't flatbread thin - it's not crispy - but yes, it doesn't have much rise to it. But it also doesn't get soggy - we had our pizza about 30 minutes after picking it up. My only reason to hold back one star is the price. I thought it was a bit high - so it makes this a lovely novelty option but wish I could say it's everyday value."
"If you're in south Austin and craving cheesecake, do yourself a favor and hit this place up! They are located in the Thicket Food Park along with several other food trucks. It was my first visit here and I cannot say enough wonderful things about the customer service Kimmie gave. She was so patient and understanding as me and my friend went back and forth trying to decide which ones to try. She gave us some great suggestions and even told us we could reach out and ask for other flavors from their menu be available for purchase. We made our selections and headed home but there is plenty of park bench seating at Thicket. I'm a HUGE fan of pumpkin cheesecake and it was by far my favorite with the raspberry white chocolate taking a close second. They were all delicious and I can't wait to go back and try their other flavors!"
"Snowy village was so good! I didn't have the opportunity to try their drinks, however, their shaved ice was top notch. I'm not a huge fan of red bean, but my friends said that the red bean was incredible. The mango was fresh, and the matcha was so tasty. The place has ample seating, it's very cute inside & intimate. The staff is very kind & accommodating :)"
"Cool experience to watch the ice cream being made, tastes amazing. Kids love the color changing spoons."
"Blue Fin really gets into the spooky Halloween spirit! So much fun. And always a great time! Sushi served with love!"
"Pizza these days is a rare treat for me, between the Gluten, the cheese and the calories hahahah but....When I do indulge, I want it to be good quality and romance my taste buds. I'm also one of those people that orderes a baseline at each new restaurant. And for pizza that is a standard pepperoni no frills. Plus foodie Joe hyped up their pepperoni so I had to anyway. Now to the pizza: I had forgotten what pizza sauce should taste like because within one bite I knew this was homemade and not canned. The crust was not too thick and not too thin and if I were pushed to nit pick, the only thing that could have been a bit better or crispier. The pepperoni was very good quality and like Joe said, actually tastes like pepperoni and the cheese was perfectly melted. On top of that it was very reasonably priced and the little restaurant was super cute (note: soft drinks only) They obviously do take out and they deliver This place is owned by a local couple who have fed Kyle with delicious Kyle Pizza Co. for many years.Service was super friendly and attentive"
"A cute coffee shop and pie spot in south Austin! The pies might look small but they are pretty intense!Brought these to a family gathering and they were a hit!! I personally love the key lime pie and the strawberry cheesecake. Both have a good balance and depth of flavor. Definitely recommend trying the flavors or asking the staff for recommendations!"
"I think there are many different expectations for this dessert and when it doesn't fit that expectation people are bummed. It doesn't make this place good or bad just a personal preference thing.I personally just didn't find it good. It's a frozen banana like a popsicle, I would have liked it to be closer to a soft serve texture. However that's not the reason why I gave it two stars. The toppings are good but underwhelming and frankly this place is so expensive for what it is whether you love it or not. A full banana with toppings is anywhere from $5-6.50. This is probably the highest margin business in the world. Wholesale cost is probably $0.15 for toppings and a $0.30 banana.... I could see this being a cheap dessert for a college student given it's location at $2 for a half and $3 a full but much like anything else that is unique in Austin slap on a 100% premium. If I'm being completely honest, I think I'm just jealous of the 75-80% margins that this place brings in and wished I had thought of the idea. Really is the Amazon of dessert spots."
