Gretel Y. "I visited Phoebe's Diner for Sunday brunch before flying out of Austin. It was just a fifteen-minute walk from my hotel. I joined the Yelp Waitlist but when I arrived, I saw that the restaurant was packed with lots of people waiting outside. I was worried I would have to wait a while, but to my surprise, they were able to seat me at the bar right away. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. I opted for the migas with side of fruit and side of avocado as well as an iced coffee (Café Du Monde Vietnamese). The migas comes with hatch chile hollandaise, scrambled eggs, onion, tomato, Hatch chiles, crispy masa cake, cotija cheese, and cilantro and served with crispy red potatoes... It was exactly what I was looking for! It was flavorful and very filling. I struggled to finish it, especially with my fruit and avocado which complemented the migas. The Vietnamese iced coffee was sweet and creamy. I don't usually indulge in sweet coffees so it was a little treat!Highly recommend checking out Phoebe's Diner if visiting Austin and also highly recommend joining the Yelp Waitlist ahead of time!"

My aloha burger with the grilled pineapple was very good. I got the truffle sauce on the side and ditched that in favor of they had 2 other homemade dips... spicy something and a ranch.. Oli would ask for those. The sweet potato waffle fries were a little too skinny so seemed a little well done. Good taste though."

Jessica P. "This was recommended by our Lyft driver and man o man was he correct! We weren't ready for a full meal, but after our day of walking around downtown, this was worth it! It's a short walk from the Texas State Capital, so we did work up a bit of an appetite. Happy Hour drink prices made this "snack" stop worth it! You walk into the bar area to grab a menu and pick your seat. The décor is so random with signs and pictures and gives off the local dive vibe (which is totally my jam). The LYFT driver suggested we go with the chili sampler, which he was not wrong on this idea! This gave us the ability to try almost all the Chili. Although, there were so many items on the menu I wanted to try! NEXT TIME! List of Chili in order of flavor and YUM:Habanero - it is hot, hot, hot, hot, hot however, the flavor was just bold and came thru amazing and wasn't so hot that you couldn't find the flavor.XX Spicy TX Beef Chili - I feel like this one was hotter than the habanero, but the meat was chunky and so goodBlack Bean and Sausage - super flavorful, sausage was crispy and worked perfectlyVenison - this one fell flat for me, I do love deer meat, but I didn't get much flavor out of this one. You must order cheese and sour cream (much needed for the hotter chilis to give your mouth a bit of a break). We were served with an entire basked of saltines, which again, PERFECT! Our waitress was so kind and was on top of it the whole time. Although they had run out of Shiner, due to the race and football weekend, I still was able to get a good local Amber. My newly 21-year-old niece got a bomb drink and loved it. The waitress said she was impressed that I wasn't crying eating the XXX hot chilis, hey, I live in New Mexico, our Christmas Chile is no joke. I highly recommend this restaurant!"

Courtney B. "I came to this location with my Yelp colleagues for a sit-down dinner with a pre- set menu. When I arrived at the restaurant, I turned my keys over to the valet to have my car valet parked (score, because I didn't want to do it myself). Off menu (made specifically for our dinner): potato croquettes with salsa brava and garlic aioli These patatas bravas are crispy even though they are baked and not fried. They were topped with a delicious smoky salsa brava and garlic aioli that had a punch and was earthy. This bravas sauce (salsa brava) is made with extra virgin olive oil, smoked paprika, and tomato paste. This salsa was perfectly drizzled atop hot fried potatoes. Off menu (made specifically for our dinner): mixed greens with cherry tomatoes, heirloom radish, and preserved lemon dressing. The heirloom radishes on this dish were crisp, spicy, and zesty and paired well with the acidity of the cherry tomatoes. Tempura Mushrooms- coral mushrooms, apple-miso gastrique, horseradish aioli These coral mushrooms have thick, dense, white bases yet don't have a distinct smell and have a bland flavor. However, the horseradish and apple-miso gastrique made for an unusual combination of naturally sweet apple and a hearty kick of horseradish. This is definitely a starter worth ordering again. Salmon* crispy rice cake, romanesco, citrus, chive beurre blanc, trout roe. I was so pleased to see trout roe on this salmon. I love trout roe as it has the same bright orange color as salmon eggs, but they're smaller, pop cleanly and finish with a burst of flavor that tastes something like jumping into a pristine freshwater lake! The beurre blanc on this dish was rich, velvety smooth, and luxurious! The bright burst of citrus flavor also added the needed acidity to the dish.Aside from this meal, the service rendered at the bar was efficiency and pleasant."

As a seafood lover I was pleased to see that they offered shrimps & grits, crawfish and crab items on the menu! Luckily, the wait time wasn't long and the crowd gave it a nice feel. We ordered the crab cakes and sirloin soup for starters. The crab cakes were pretty good. The sirloin soup is their version of a beef stew and it came with rice and had a nice spice to it. For dinner, we had the steak with garlic mashed potato and the sampler sauces. The honey garlic pork chip with a baked potato. Their off menu item for kiddos (chicken fingers and fries) and the bacon truffle Mac n cheese. I also had a mocktail the strawberry spritz. Everything tasted great. I would definitely recommend this place for a date night or celebration. If you're looking for a more causal side, they have a separate bar menu and happy hour."

Great way to show local talent and help get their visions in front of customers. It was my first time there so I was told it's an absolute must to order the Hyde fries. Looking over the menu, it's a pretty good range of food. Creative pairings and a little something for everyone. The fries were just okay. It needed something to zing it up. I of course got the Chicken and waffles, the best food pairing in all of food history. And it did not disappoint. Good portions, good flavor, good crunch on the breaded chicken. Occasionally we will pick up food to go. Jack Allen's Kitchen on Anderson Lane has a roadhouse vibe with Texan undertones. Our dining experience has always been great - food quality is consistently notable and service top-notch.Reservations are recommended but not required. The downside of not making reservations is sometimes you must wait for a table to open. During the week this is not an issue. However, on the weekends it gets quite busy. A hostess greets you as you walk in, and information is taken for you to wait in the dining queue, or you are shown immediately to your table. Standard fare includes a complimentary sample size pimento spread with crackers. We are creatures of habit and usually order salmon or trout entrees, occasionally we deviate off the main path. We also love their guacamole and catfish appetizers. It's truly amazing how fast your menu items are prepared. Important to note, Jack Allen's Kitchen has happy hour Mon-Fri 3:30-6:30 pm with half-priced appetizers and $1 off cocktails. Amazing deal!!!Today was a rare "to-go" order day for a working Board meeting. I selected salmon with Dijon and horseradish glaze, pan seared potato cake, herb roasted veggies, white wine lemon butter sauce, and toasted paprika glaze. Vanessa G. "- Vibes: cute/cozy brunch (it's a converted house)- Crowd: can get full at brunch, recommend a reservation- Menu: a bit limited choices- Value for price: 3/5 (expensive and nicely presented but small servings)- Service: 4/5 (a bit slow but friendly)- Parking: tiny lot, street parking My friend and I came for a late lunch around 1pm on a Saturday and were able to get an outdoor table right away. The vibes are adorable for a sweet date or family brunch, with several outdoor tables on the house's front lawn and a couple indoor tables (but it's pretty crowded). We tried some teas first. The Turkish delight was a bit disappointing, $6 and was pretty small/tasted like a standard iced tea. Don't recommend. My friend's chocolate crunch was just a chocolatey flavored hot tea, but it was delicious and around $6 as well. I'd recommend that one, you could share for two as it's in a tea pot. The Nutella roll was light, flaky and delicious but a bit pricey for the size.My friend's shrimp and grits was small (5 shrimp) but they were delicious, flavorful gulf shrimp. I had the steak and eggs, small steak but cooked perfectly and the side potatoes were crunchy and amazing. The harissa sauce was splendid. Overall, if you're willing to shell out for a good aesthetic I'd come here, but you may be prepared to leave a bit hungry since the serving sizes are so small :)"

They were actually voted for best wings in Austin, so definitely worth checking them out. You walk in and you sit wherever you want, server will come up to your table and take your order (keep in mind) they do get busy and may take a little while to get your food order, but hey it's a sports bar so watch a game while you wait patiently :) There is TVs all around and the staff is really nice. Pretty calm the night I went but great place to watch sports! The margarita swirl was gooood, pretty strong (not that strong) but enough for a slight buzz. & you can't go wrong with a mug of beer The fried pickled spears 5/5, nice and juicy, great fried crisp to them. The cheese fries 4.5/5, IMO I like a saucy cheese rather than shredded BUT these were really good! The waffle fries were really good tbh. The wings 'n burger basket with teriyaki wings 4.5/5, the burger lacked a bit of flavor and does not come with pickles. Only the cheese :/ The 10 piece (mild and spicy lemon pepper) 5/5, the dry rub took me by surprise. Such a good combo, never had a good spicy lemon pepper rub. Ranch dressing 5/5, it's up there with the wingstop ranch if you ask me not as liquid-y though bit more thick. Overall, I WILL BE BACK. Our eyes were definitely bigger than our stomach because we didn't even finish half our food before we were stuffed and took home the leftovers (no regrets at all though) Everything we ordered was delicious, my favorites being the burrata omelette and pancakes! The biscuits tasted even better the next day as it soaked up all the gravy.
