Great little spot, had a solid Friday night crowd-but we were still seated right away. The salsa was good, we needed a refill! We tried the chicken fajitas and smothered burrito, both were great. The beans are really good. Our waitress was very attentive, we saw a lot of folks being greeted as family. Seems like a spot with a solid group of regulars. Great atmosphere!

Bit of a belated review from last week when we randomly had to be in Round Rock around dinner time and needed to find a place to eat, and well, this option seemed better than most. It's definitely kind of cute in there will the whole donkey theme, and we had a cozy little booth, but the food left a lot to be desired. First of all, chips and salsa were a pretty big disappointment--we hated their particular brand of chips and the salsa had zero pizzazz. Same with the queso: Meh with a capital M. The rest of the meal followed suit. The chicken carnitas tacos (carnitas can even *be* chicken????) were bland, unimaginative, and looked like they came fresh from the freezer. The steak burrito was equally disappointing as were all the sides we had. There was just no...no life to the food at all. We did appreciate their happy hour frozen marg and margarita martini though. Our server was nice, but super speedy in-and-out. Glad to have given it a go and we wish them well, but we will not be back,

Burros is a nondescript restaurant on Hwy 79 in Round Rock. Once a pizza parlor now a Tex-Mex restaurant. Typical Tex-Mex decor, Wife and I had been looking for a new Tex-Mex restaurant. We arrived just after noon and were seated immediately I ordered a Shiner while we looked at the menu. They had great lunch specials! I ordered two beef enchiladas with rice and beans. Wife ordered a taco/enchilada combo. The food arrived quickly Both specials were delicious and were only $8.98 each. A real bargain. I was very impressed with Burros and I will be back!

I got the medium beef brisket wrapped burro with black beans and a side of guacamole. It was filling and delicious as the meat was tender and not too chewy. For my drink, I had the michelada with Dos XX as my beer of choice. It was okay as it tasted fairly watered down, so I probably would recommend another drink choice unless you are a big fan of micheladas. The service was great with our server being very patient and taking her time to answer all our questions regarding the menu. The food did take some time to get out to us but we did have a party of 5 and the restaurant was fairly busy. The establishment had a lot of televisions where we were seated and overall was decorated very nicely. There are various seating options available to accommodate various party sizes, which was nice.

I don't think I'm picky with Mexican food but this place was meh The food was hot, and the chips were warm. But the flavor just wasn't there. Perhaps it was an off day for the cook. The food didn't taste bad - just meh.The service was quick at the beginning but then it got busy and it took forever to get our check. Like forever. I had to ask someone else for help. The place was packed with locals I'm guessing. The physical restaurant is older and the bathroom isn't the nicest but fine. I don't think I will be back but it wasn't terrible. They did have cute burro/donkey shirts.

Came here with a friend for dinner and we both had a decent experience. I got some chicken and beef enchiladas and they were good but not great. Very plain and lacking some flavor, same goes for the beans. I got a house marg since it was the special and it was also just fine. Our server was very nice and we got our food pretty quickly. The restaurant itself was a pretty decent size and had a lot of seating.

Title: A Mixed Experience at Burros Tex Mex Bar and GrillI recently dined at Burros Tex Mex Bar and Grill, and while the experience had its highs and lows, it left me with mixed feelings.I opted for the chicken enchiladas paired with refried beans and rice. The enchiladas were decent, but I've had better elsewhere. Unfortunately, the refried beans left a slightly off taste, contributing to an overall mediocre impression of the meal. It wasn't terrible, but it didn't stand out.To accompany my meal, I ordered a margarita, but to my disappointment, it seemed to lack the punch of tequila that I was expecting. The cocktail was a bit underwhelming, missing the bold flavor I usually associate with a good margarita.Despite the average food and drink experience, one highlight was the excellent service provided by my server. Their attentiveness and professionalism were commendable, adding a positive touch to an otherwise ordinary dining experience. In conclusion, while my visit to Burros Tex Mex Bar and Grill left room for improvement in terms of food and drink, the outstanding service encourages me to give the place another try. With hopes for an enhanced culinary experience, I believe there's potential for this restaurant to win me over on a second visit.

This restaurant is in a standalone building with a strip center directly behind it. We decided to come here after the lunchtime rush when the place was basically empty. When seated the complimentary chips and salsa show up and they prefer that you scan their menu. They do have a large physical menu, but I was told not all the prices were correct. They do serve some very good spicy red salsa infused with cilantro and the chips are decent. They do have a full bar, great frozen margaritas and beer on tap, but nothing in the way of local craft beer. The do have a specially priced lunch menu that runs til 4pm. The interior is a little bit dated, and I wouldn't exactly call it spotless, but it does have "character". We started off with a XX and a large frozen margarita ($12.99!). I had the beef enchiladas and my friend had the shredded chicken burrito lunch special. The food was pretty good Tex-Mex, but not anything extraordinary. The only complaint I have is that neither the chips nor the hot sauce was ever replenished. As long as you don't have very high expectations of TexMex, this place will hit the spot for you. Some informative photos featured below. ***1/2 overall

The queso is good but we ordered shrimp tacos and honestly they were sad. Little to no seasoning or flavor and we asked if they would comp the meal and the owner said no because this is what their tacos are like. So overall food and service are not great. Wouldn't recommend.
