Excellent food, great service. No ice for our drinks, which is a negative for me personally, but I'm not deducting stars for that, as I know that is a cultural norm. I would definitely recommend this excellent restaurant for a great Indian meal.

We saw this restaurant on a foodie Instagram channel and my husband loves Indian food so when we were in North Austin we made a stop.It was by far the BEST Indian food we have had in Austin and my husband said the best Indian he's had in the US (he's from England and is very particular/picky with his Indian so a very high honor indeed). We shared a chicken tikka masala (medium spice), bread basket, and a chicken biryani (also medium spice). The food was delicious - the chicken tikka was spectacular. Large portion, generous amount of chicken. Very creamy and rich curry spiced wonderfully. This came with a side of steamed white rice. The bread basket was BOMB- and came with a ridiculous amount of their bread items. The garlic naan was amazing, so was the onion stuffed version. The biryani we ordered was good/different. My husband didn't care for this item but I thought it was interesting. It was described as tangy and it definitely had a vibrant, punchy almost citrus like flavor. It reminded me of the preserved limes we have gotten before at other Indian restaurants - I really like these salty limes but my husband does not so that could explain why we had mixed feelings about this dish.Overall, the quantity and quality of the food was fabulous and I'd say well with the cost. The reason I didn't give this place 5 stars is because the space felt very dated. A fake flower wall may have been pretty when it first got put up but it didn't go really with the rest of the vibe. The tables/seats were older and overall it just felt a bit run down. It was clean though!

Heard about this new biryani place so decided to try it out.The chicken dum biryani was tasty, masala was authentic and chicken was well cooked. No egg in the biryani so -1 on authenticity.Decor is pleasant and it's nice to see that they have made an effort, something that's lacking in many Indian restaurants in Austin.

Biryani Garden was a disappointment in terms of food quality, taste, service, and overall dining experience. We arrived at 5pm sharp (which is when they are listed as open for dinner on Google and Yelp). Upon entering, the lights were all off and I was met with blank stares from the staff. I asked if they were open and they said they open at 5:30. When I pointed out that their online info is inaccurate, they said they'd accommodate and seat us, after which it took another 5 mins for them to turn the lights on.They asked us to use the QR code to access their menu, but the QR code was completely disintegrated and didn't work. When we requested physical menus, the waitress asked us to give her our phone so she could "try" scanning the QR Code (which didn't work of course), and then walked around with our phone to other tables to scan their QR codes for us. It's quite ridiculous that they didn't have a single physical menu in the entire restaurant for us to look at.We ordered papdi chaat for appetizer, chicken malai kabab, malai kofta, naan and goat biryani for dinner. The chaat was not worth the $9 - completely lacking in spice and flavor, and didn't taste fresh at all. The malai kofta was not at all authentic and it is evident that they're catering to a non-Indian palette. It was completely lacking flavor and was severely under salted. The naan and goat biryani were decent but nothing to write home about. Our meal was served on ceramic plates, but we were given plastic forks + napkins to eat with, and Kirkland water bottles to drink out of. For a restaurant charging $15 average per dish, I expect more than that. This is cheapness at a whole new level. Finally- the ambiance. I've seen other reviews speaking to how the owners of this restaurant made an effort to decorate it nicely. Sadly this is also NOT true. The prior establishment in this location - Cafe Eden - had the same floral decor. You can see this for yourself if you google "Cafe Eden Austin". Avoid this place - all you will get is under-spiced, flavorless Indian food coupled with an underwhelming dining experience. The fact that it has such good reviews speaks volumes to the need for decent indian restaurants in Austin.

Man! Took in this place after David Douglas review. Very good! I got the Ulavacharu Goat Biryani and it did not disappoint. It is buried under the fragrant jasmine rice, and covered in the delicious sweet goat meat that has the unique spicy taste full of flavor. Eating with the garlic naan folded over a spoonful creates that perfect bite. Each dish i looked at came with a spicy version which is what i love. Can't wait to get the craving again!

Food: 9/10Chili Gobi: 10/10. This dish was sooooo good, very spicy, but very good!!Hyd Chicken Dum Biryani: 8/10. This dish tasted decent, and had a lot of chicken hidden in the rice. This portion was huuuuge. Definitely can be split with another person as a meal. Punjabi Samosa: 10/10. This somosa was so good!! I definitely would've eaten another one if I wasn't so full already. Garlic Naan: 10/10. The best garlic naan I've ever had. It was a bit oily, but the seasoning and the way it was cooked made this excellent.Service: 6/10. There was only one person working in the front of the restaurant. We waited a bit to get seated because she was with a customer before us. The food took a little bit to come out as well, even though we were the only ones inside. They did have a lot of take out orders though.Ambiance: 8/10. Pretty spacious seating inside, but we were the only group there. They seem quite new and the place is a little far from the main roads, so that's why there's probably not a lot of foot traffic. Definitely a hidden gem to try out! The portions they give are great for the price.

Excellent high quality Indian food prepared by Hyderabadi chefs. This means a couple of things: they really understand how to make biryani and the food is spicy HOT. The lowest level (medium) would count as "very spicy" at most other restaurants, so if you are not from Hyderabad, you may ask if they can go even a notch lower. That said, the food is of such high quality, you really cannot miss this place. Try an old standard like the chicken tikka masala to see what I mean. Rich, deep flavors and super tender chicken. But again, expect it to be spicier than normal. The service is friendly and attentive and the place is clean and airy. It was almost empty when I went on Sunday for lunch. It's a bit out of the way, so I suspect they do a lot of take out business. I kept hearing there are no good Indian restaurants in Austin. Not true, once you discover this gem.
