Beto's Mexican Restaurant

I am a San Antonio local and had to conduct some business here in Austin. I quickly looked online for a quick bite to eat and saw the reviews of this restaurant. Trying new things scares me but as soon as I entered I was greeted by smiling faces and fast service. The owner was running food and checking on everyone. The food was tasty and the restaurant was welcoming I will be coming back next visit!

Stopped by when we were nearby and starved. Great breakfast with the sweetest staff. Definitely come here.

Here is a hidden Austin gem! Beto's has become one of our favorite go to places with affordable yet surprisingly excellent fare. Surprising since the outer appearance is unassuming and does not scream "trendy".First the staff is consistently welcoming and friendly. The place is always clean and tidy. Down to the gritty. First, the salsa is one of our favorites in town and there is a delicious green salsa option as well (not for tender palates).I personally come for the tortilla soup which is consistently fabulous! It has a clear broth enhanced with chicken, rice, carrots and other goodies. It also comes with all the fixin's; onions, cheese, cilrantro, diced jalapenos and of course, totopos (re-fried tortilla strips). Phil loves the carne guisada and beef fajita tacos--with a unique South Texas flavor. It's a busy place but not so busy you can't drop in and stay awhile. Another note about the staff. I left a brand new pair of Ray Bans there and the manager kept them safe and gave them to me when we next returned. So kind. In any case, we hope it never gets too busy for us to drop by and linger over a bowl of steaming tortilla soup.

The food was delicious! The salsas were flavorful and fresh. The service was quick and all the food was hot and fresh.

I grew up on the south side of San Antonio. So I love me some hole in the wall Tex mex. If that's also your jam, then Beto's is for you. First off, it has that classic family feel from the staff. They are always friendly and will help you navigate the menu if you have any trouble with your Spanish. In fact, most items are listed in both English and Spanish. The food tastes just how my grandma used to make. I often get the carne guisada tacos, the enchiladas, or the been and cheese. Now this is a lil controversial, but I think this place has some of the best menudo. They have what you'd expect in the way of beer. The margaritas are the pre made kind and a lil too sweet for my taste. This is one of my go to spots.

reminds me of mom and pop restaurants back in east texas. 10/10, hits the damn spot. its not got the presentation of places like Fresas, and may not have the cutest aesthetic, but the food is fantastic and is affordable to boot. tortillas? fuhgetaboutit the fajitas? And for those asking the important questions, yes; the chips and salsa are incredible.

Definitely a mom and Pop spot which I always love in the heart of East Austin it hasn't been gentrified yet. Excellent service great food great drinks pricing is amazing you must eat here. It's just as good as any of the high priced places I had the chicken enchiladas rice and beans were very good. Love their salsa plenty of heat and she kept my chips and salsa full and kept checking on me everybody had a great attitude and I definitely suggest getting the homemade churros!

Finally stopped by, to try out this place. Great food! I got the Veggie Burrito, the gf got the Cheese Enchiladas. Great atmosphere in this place. Four tv's, music playing, people having fun. Our booth by the windows was comfortable. Our waitress was very friendly, and she got my order just right. I'm vegan, and can't eat most pepper sauces, and no cheese, and she and the cook came through with flying colors. We'll be back, very soon. Highly Recommended!

Really bad food!!!!!! zero flavor, First and last I eat at this place... seriously it's not a joke.

Best food I've had in a while, reminds me of my home town El Paso Texas. The service was great. I highly recommend you guys come check this place out.
