Betos has pretty good Tex Mex food. Having tried other Austin establishments, and being from Houston, it didn't blow me away, but we had a nice time. The fajitas were good, but not out of this world. The queso was lacking in flavor. The drinks were solid. Nothing blew us awayOur sever was fine. Our waters were kept relatively full, and the food came out fairly quickly. We were on a timeline, so, it was nice to not have to wait too long for our food or check. We visited on a Saturday night, and even with plenty of college football games on and a holiday weekend, the restaurant was pretty dead. It wasn't a lively or exceptionally fun/inviting ambiance. There were 4 of us, and we did get drinks and appetizers, and fajitas, but we quickly ran out of table space. Some tips:Ask for extra green salsa. This has quite the kick, and if you get the queso, add green salsa for some much needed flavor. Also, the beerita was delicious. You can choose the cervesa, and the bitterness from the beer perfectly cuts the sweet margarita.Cheers!!

I really like the beef fajitas quesadillas. The barbacoa tacos have a lot of meat in them. Not bad. Could use more salt. Take outs are fast. Ambiance is like a typical Mexican restaurant, but on the plain side.

So... been watching Ted Lasso recently and I've got to say Beto's service is like "Total Service" as we had a great waitress, but every time we needed something there was someone there taking care of us... more chips *boom* refill on water *boom* napkins *boom*. I had the Al Pastor Gordita and it was delicious and just the right amount of crispy to masa-y ratio. Kiddos had beef fajitas (yummy) and the 5 mini taco plate (filled up on 2) and my wife had an amazingly tasty tortilla soup. Bill was just north of $50... not bad for dinner for 4 with enough leftovers for 3 lunches.

Not the best TexMex, but not the worst food either if you need a quick breakfast and you're starving. Friendly and fast service makes a big difference even if the food isn't outstanding. Just your basic Mexican establishment operated, in my opinion, by folks who are not from South Texas like myself. This is a common theme here in Austin, so you take the good with the bad if you don't have time to go to one of your favorite spots. The breakfast migas are a reliable and safe choice that comes with a generous serving of refried beans and potatoes, but I prefer my mom's version. Probably due to getting the seasonings right. That's one thing that can't always be fixed with salt, pepper and salsa afterwards. But, if most people drown their food in hot sauce it doesn't matter how the food actually tastes.

I got a Chile relleno and I had zero complaints. The vibe is exactly what you'd expect in this size and style of a restaurant. They sit on the line between fast casual and sit down. The servers were nice and the food got their quick enough. Only reason I'm knocking a star is bc it didn't hit my magical out of the park feel that I get from a select few places.

I can totally see why this place has an average of 3 stars,I didn't wanna give them 2 cause I didn't want to mess up the average. El pastor is definitely not el pastor. It was like a cross between carnitas and shredded cooked pork meat. In short It lacked flavor. The refried beans had no flavor. (I added salt!) & my other half was only served maybe 2 table spoons of it on his plate. The rice was okay. Just ok. I ordered the enchiladas poblanas and those were pretty good so if you find yourself coming here even after seeing the 3 stars order that! Plus: they have homemade corn tortillas! Yum

Ok. The Enchiladas de Espinaca hits like pure cheesy glory. And I was so wrapped up in eating I forgot to take a photo. Wait, I lied. THE STAFF IS FIGHTING OVER BEATLES VS CLAPTON and then someone played the Abbey Road Medley. I think I live here now.

I came in with a friend and we ordered a quesadilla to split and 4 margaritas between the 2 of us. We asked for a blanco WELL tequila when they asked our preference - which is pretty well known that is whichever one is the cheapest. When we got the bill it was over $80 and the line item for margarita said "top shelf". Confused, I spoke with the waiter and he said he gave us patron. I love patron, but that's not what we asked for and when I said I did not want to pay for it I was pretty much told "that's too bad" even though he admitted it was his mistake for misunderstanding. The logic here mad me very upset and I felt like I shouldn't have been charged and it felt intentional. I felt like they were taking advantage of the fact I may have not noticed but I did and they "couldn't do anything". I still paid 20% on my bill for a tip because I was not going to be that kind of person but they were in the wrong. So I spent $100 total on a quesadilla and 4 drinks.. I was given manager information and called and never got a return call back. Forget this place. Austin has way better margaritas, food, and SERVICE. I was told the managers name was Louis and when I asked for him they acted like they didn't know who I was asking for so who knows if they even gave me the right name.

They start you off with a nice basket of chips and a great bowl of salsa while you choose your meal. The food is always fast, fresh and well prepared. The tea is always strong and cold with lots of ice and a nice thick wedge of lemon.
