Tried the Combination Fried Rice and Cream Cheeses Wontons (not pictured). Taste was amazing and by far better than other Chinese food I've tried in the area. Thought it was pricey, but the portion size made it worth it.

This food truck sits nestled in a courtyard with three other food trucks which all share a large covered space with five picnic tables. The other three trucks are Mexican, burgers, and Indo-Pak cuisine. They do have a gravel lot for parking which holds about dozen cars. There is a menu on the side of the Chinese food truck, but all the prices are missing, however they do have a physical menu that they will hand you. After you order, they will hand you a buzzer letting you know when your order is ready. When you pay by credit card, they will hand you the handheld device which will suggest a tip. From the time we placed our order until we received it was 12 minutes. I might suggest you bring your own water because the drinks here are expensive. To be honest, after I ordered and paid for the food I forgot to order any drinks, so I went to the truck next to theirs and spent $7 for one soda and a small bottle of water. We ordered the chicken fried rice and beef with broccoli and an egg roll (gotta admit that egg roll was great). We decided to dine under the enclosure, but had to continually ward off the flies and keep an eye on the ever present grackle. I would suggest getting it to go unless you like to eat out of a styrofoam container with a plastic fork while fending off the unforgiving flies. I enjoyed my beef and broccoli, it was perfectly cooked with the broccoli being al dente. It was good and filling, being generous in size, but I've had better. My friend had the chicken fried rice which he considered subpar due to the chicken looking and tasting as though it came out of a can. Best to avoid that dish. If I lived down the street, I'd give this place another chance, but I'd make it to go. Plenty of photos included for more insight.

I've had Kung Pao beef from Bamboo Express twice now, and both times the food was excellent. I got a little obsessed recently with eating Kung Pao, which should be spicy, savory, and crunchy, and I have been somewhat disappointed with the various versions I've been having from other restaurants all over Austin. The Bamboo Express version is heavily seasoned, thickly sauced, and comes out piping hot. Lots of small, crunchy veggies; tons of peanuts, lots of tender beef, and everything was very fresh. The order has been fast both times. Lunch and dinner prices are reasonable. I got lunch the first time, and dinner this time. The only thing I can't tell is whether there's much of a difference between the lunch and dinner. It's one carton, with the entree on the big side and the rice in the two pocket side. Lunch and dinner were both like that. Maybe the dinner portion has more main dish? Hard to tell because I thought the lunch was generous, and the dinner portion was definitely big. Can't remember the lunch price, but it came with an egg roll, is cheaper than dinner, and was equally good. Dinner portion was $14 after tax, and for a food truck I think that's a decent price for a heaping carton of really well made food. I was thinking dinner would be two separate containers, one rice, one main entree, but either way I can't imagine anyone being disappointed with the food or the amount. One note. The pricing is wrong somewhere. It's maybe 50 cents or a dollar more than what's listed, after tax? That needs to be updated.

OMG! Tried this place for the first time today and I had to give the highest rating of 5 stars and here's why. This is hands-down my favorite Americanized Chinese food I have had in the area around Manor and EAST North central Austin and it's a FOOD TRUCK!These flavors brought back old memories of when this type of Chinese food had a more distinct flavor between the different types of dishes. I could give them a 5 start rating on their eggrolls alone and it's not because the are the best I've had but they are homemade. This is awesome as some brick and mortar places are unfortunately sourcing their eggrolls from food distributors these days. I worked several years in the Chinese restaurant business and consider myself experienced enough to know the difference.I ordered Eggrolls, Crab (cream cheese) Wontons. Beef Delight, Kung Pao chicken, Combo Lo Mein, and General Tso's chicken. They even threw in free dumplings. With doubt in mind, I tasted each dish and I was really impressed. I will patronize these guys as long as the food quality stays the same. Great Job and kudos to the cooks running the truck.

This place has the best egg rolls and kung pao chicken I've ever had. They make it fresh when you order. I'm so sad I moved and has not found another place as good as this place.
