We couldn't have chosen a better place to ring in the new year than Backspace. The cozy ambiance made our New Year's Eve dinner feel warm and intimate, with the soft glow of lights and the inviting aroma of fresh, brick oven pizza filling the air. It was the perfect setting to celebrate and enjoy a wonderful meal. The service was attentive, friendly, and efficient, even on a busy holiday night. The staff made sure we had everything we needed and added to the overall great experience. Now, the food? Absolutely bold and delicious. The brick oven pizza had a perfect crispy crust with rich, smoky flavors that made each bite unforgettable. The shrimp pasta dish was full of depth, with a white wine sauce that tasted homemade and well-seasoned. And to top it all off, the desserts were decadent, bringing a sweet and satisfying end to an already fantastic meal.If you're looking for an authentic Italian spot with bold flavors, a warm atmosphere, and great service, Backspace is a must-visit.

This is my second visit at the Backspace on Anderson and I truly think they have something special going on here. I haven't been to the downtown location for comparison, but the atmosphere at this restaurant is so cozy - it was the perfect antidote to a freezing and rainy Thursday evening.Although they are called "Backspace Pizza" they offer pizzas and pastas in nearly equal measure, with a couple salads that I'm looking forward to trying at some future visit. My gemelli pasta with fennel sausage was lovely, flavor was on point and the arugula really balanced things. It's also nice to have pasta that feels full without being overly rich - too often restaurants deliver dishes that make it hard to find any subtlety. My friend had the fennel sausage pizza which looked fired to perfection (unfortunately he wasn't sharing). We appreciated the attentive, friendly service. I think this adds up to being an awesome date night spot or a place for an intimate dinner with some friends. I love having Backspace in the neighborhood and I'm looking forward to patronizing them again soon.

A neighborhood gem where one could find themselves having a weekly dinner or late lunch with family or loved ones. Situated right off of Anderson Lane, Backspace Pizza has plenty of small bites, salads, pizzas, and pastas to enjoy. There is a sense of quaintness where it feels so easy to get to know the staff and they'd take the time to learn your names as well. With the sounds of an open wood fired pizza oven, you can expect delicious flavors to appease everyone at the table.Take advantage of their stellar happy hour and those espresso martinis are no joke! Our table grazed on meatballs and their garlic cheese bread and I could've eaten three trays alone of their bread. One of my favorite things I enjoyed most about Backspace Pizza was their bar area and how open this space was. Look for the neon sign outside and you'll be set for success! I'll be back Backspace Pizza.

Service was horrible. Sat at the bar, and when the bartender asked if we had ever been before and we said no, he said ok and then just walked away! Why even ask if there's nothing we should know? He proceeded to slam the glassware in front of and next to me while he finished polishing them. Will never be back and will recommend to everyone I know not to come to this place. Also, they don't have ranch (or jalapeños), maybe it's just me but I love ranch with my pizza. Gave this place two stars instead of one because the garlic cheese bread and wings were awesome. Still not worth going back though.

Backspace Pizza makes one helluva... espresso martini. You heard me right. Their espresso martini is something worth Yelpin' about. It had a unique kick of salted caramel flavor, and one of the servers informed us it was her recipe. Kudos to you, chica. Thinking about it now.Ok, so our dinner. Picture this: Four gals arrive post-river float - showered, refreshed, and a bit hangry/fainty. We ordered olives, calamari, roasted carrots, and pepperoni pizza for our "starters." For dinner, we also had the rigatoni and seafood pasta (fusilli with gulf crab, roasted corn, poached tomatoes, garlic butter, white wine). Food was great. Service was meh. But overall I'd return. Could've been an off night for our server and bar staff.

Party of 4 for dinner a few weeks ago. Our first time at this location with its better menu than downtown. Two types of pizza were enjoyable and pasta with sausage was very good. Bottle of Primativo wine and chocolate budino dessert rounded out the experience. Good server.

This place is so cute for a lil date night or a small gathering with friends. The pizza was very good and not greasy. They did not shy on the mushrooms!! The happy hour is also very good 4-6! Knocking a star for the strawberry "bruschetta." It was odd and too sweet. They use those strawberries you get in the elementary school cafeteria with whipped cream u know those syrupy kind. Cheese was skimpy. That was a bust for sure.

I like the food here and I like supporting local restaurants - but the manager is consistently rude. Twice now he has made me feel like he's doing me a favor when I pick up my to go order or that I'm inconveniencing him. His manner is brusque and impatient. Among other things - I said thank you when he handed me the food and instead of thanking me for coming in - he said "you're welcome" with zero eye contact and just walked away. Really tone deaf. I see a few other reviews commenting on the manager as well. Unfortunate for an otherwise cute local spot.

We had a very strange experience. We used to love coming here! However, the attitude of the server and manager (I guess?) was truly shocking, there is definitely some toxic stuff going on behind the scenes because the staff could care less about providing even mediocre service. We were treated like shit for dare we even mention, asking where our other dish was when they served my husband's dish very quickly and took 20 mins to serve the other dish. I also want to note we are not the toxic AF yelpers who can't understand how a restaurant works and mistakes happen. I've been in the industry for 15 years and was shocked that a simply acknowledgement or apology wasn't offered. Really disappointing, I hope they figure it out.
