ATX Gyro

I CAN'T GET ENOUGH OK!!!!! This one was great- I think it has been my favorite place I've tried so far. Shoutout to ATX Gyro for being open until 1am. Now I know I can get my halal fix late at night if necessary. I had ATX Gyro a few nights ago and went back last night to get more.... then I had my leftovers for breakfast.... do I have a problem? ‍

After devouring my sons leftover hummus I knew ATX Gyro was on my list of places to try. We ordered via Door Dash. I really enjoyed the mixed chicken and gyro shawarma over rice. Great flavor. The hummus and falafel were equally delicious. ATX Gyro is one of the better hallal spots in Austin. Give it a try.

Located in west campus across from the Tejas Club you'll find ATX Gyro and what's great about them is that they are open until 2 AM every day and even as late as 4 AM on weekends which makes them one of the better spots to visit after a fun night out.I got the Gyro Over Rice ($11.99) which had a great flavor to it. The meat was cooked nicely (as in: not too chewy or crumbly as some spots can be) and the white sauce paired with the spicy was fun to have. The price isn't too bad since this was pretty filling as well.Overall, I was satisfied with my visit and give em an 4/5!

Just ordered delivery chicken over rice and a side of fries. It's unacceptable and offensive how undercooked the fries were. Like complete mush and half cooked and you could still taste that freezer taste. How hard is it to cook fries all the way? Do better.

Refused to give us ketchup with our fries, even though it was listed as included. We ordered to go. Were we supposed to just get ketchup dumped on top of the fries? They had to-go sauce containers, just refused. We also saw another pick up order taken by uber eats and they magically gave them sauce. Very disappointed, will not return.

The berry best gyro rap in the nation. That's it simple as the best gyro in Texas. I have nothing less to say.

SAVE YOURSELF FROM HUMILIATION AND BAD SERVICE: AVOID GOING TO ATX GYRO AT THE RIO GRANDE ST. FOOD TRUCKS!!!We often go to the food trucks at the Rio Grande street to hangout. On this particular day, 3 of us ordered tea and a few other items from different trucks there. We also ordered a sharable size of cheese fries from the ATX Gyro truck. AND BOY OH BOY, WAS THAT A MISTAKE!!!I was given one piece of fork for the cheese fries (very normal since I ordered one item). So I very kindly asked for two more since there were 3 of us sharing the fries. As soon as I asked for the fries, the staff gave me an annoyed look, saying and I quote, "Do you see what you ordered? Why do I have to give you more forks since you only ordered one menu item?" I was in a really good mood before but that interaction just ruined the night. I told him that if he was running low on supplies, he could've just told me that and I'd have completely understood; and that it was completely unnecessary for him to behave that way with any of his customer for no good reason!!!As I walked away from the food truck to tell my friends what happened, we heard him call me "stupid" out loud. At that point, we obviously got really upset but wanted to leave without any altercation. So we just quietly returned their food and began to leave the premises. As we were leaving they started mocking us and one of my friends there was so shocked and angry by this kind of treatment, she threw a box of used tissue at their stall. At that point, they started yelling at my friend, calling her "bitch" and then started throwing RACIAL SLURS at us like "dirty Indians". (NOTE: Me or my two friends present there with me that night, are not Indians. But as UT-Austin students, we have a very diverse group of friends. This hostile experience felt really unsafe, confusing, and offensive given that most of their customer base is made of diverse circles of UT students.)The three of us obviously shared our experience on google reviews and as we were looking through reviews from other customers, we noticed that most customers, when ordering in person, had the same disrespectful, rude, hostile, and obnoxious experience from their staff (see attached screenshots). It seems like they keep getting away with behaviors like this so I wanted to share my experience with everyone so that you all are aware!Please understand that this experience/comment/post is not a review of their food. Their food may have been really good, but we obviously didn't have the appetite to try it that day or ever consider it again after that encounter. This post is mostly to raise awareness of such hostile and rude staff in food customer service who thinks racial slurs and cussing at customers is something that they can get away with.

The food and service at ATX Gyro is amazing!!! The chicken shawarma was very flavorful and my boyfriend's gyro over rice was so good he practically inhaled it. Also I'd definitely recommend getting the side of fries.

The workers are always so nice and i've always had great experiences with everything i've tried on the menu! You have to try the gyro over fries, it's amazing!

I tried falafel wrap and it was very flavorful.. loved the vibes.. many others food trucks around with lots of different options...
