This place never disappoints. It was packed on Friday yet we were able to sit at the bar. We had the pleasure of Erica and Fernando attending to us. Outstanding service from both. The food was great as usual. We started with the Tamal with acorn squash masa. Different yet very tasty. Next were the Brussels and they were just as tasty as the first time I tried them months ago. The Filete de Lomo was brought to us medium rare and was fantastic. Flavorful and oh so tender. Lastly, the esquite. The mix of sweet corn with the chipotle aioli, tajin and queso fresco made for a palate appeasing dish. Dessert was the tres leches cake. While it was tasty, the sauce it was basking in was a tad tart and i felt it robbed the cake of its flavor. Despite this, our visit was wonderful. Has the pleasure of Sarah and Hayley check in on us while we dined. That added touch always impresses me. We appreciated it. ATX Cocina is one of my favorite restaurants and highly recommend it. Looking forward to trying their brunch soon.

ATX Cocina describes itself as modern Mexican cuisine and that is a pretty spot on description as I did not recognize a lot of the ingredients that went into their dishes. But with that being said, almost everything I had was very delicious. The sopes and hamachi crudo were incredible! Closely followed by the salmon which was cooked and seasoned perfectly. The short rib was cooked well but I'm not sure how I felt about the mole, could take it or leave it. Skip the esquites, very underwhelming. The coco no loco was addictive, I could've had 5. And the service was top notch. Overall, fantastic spot.

I visited this restaurant with a group of friends. We got a reservation in advance. Although we were about 15 minutes late, we were seated right away. The staff was very prompt and friendly. The menu was limited, but had a good variety of selection. We got a grilled fish, brussels sprouts, a chicken taco/quesadilla. Everything was very flavorful and fresh. Not a whole lot of vegetarian options but we enjoyed it anyway. I will definitely visit again to check out some more dishes.

Came here later at night on a Thursday, around 8:30 pm, it was still busy with most of the restaurant full and only a couple bar seats open. I sat at the bar put in a drink order with the bartender who was a bit short with me. She proceeded to make quite a few other drinks. About 5 minutes later another bartender came up and asked if I needed a drink, and I told him that I already had placed an order, but still was waiting. A few more minutes went by and the first bartender looked over at me, saw I still didn't have a drink, and then began making it. Bit annoying but whatever. I went ahead and put my food order in.I went with the queso fundido and the crab chili relleno. The fundido was a bit more solidified than I've had in other places, so it was a bit harder to scoop up. It also came with tortillas rather than chips which was different than what I'm used to, but the waiter had no problem bringing me some chips as well. There was brisket buried under the cheese and the whole thing was quite delicious. It was also a bit greasier than I've had in the past, obviously it's cheese and is going to be greasy, but the pool on top I feel could have been removed or at least reduced. It's a pretty good sized portion, a good split for two people. The crab chili relleno was a very cool presentation, a big pablano sort of overflowing like a cornucopia with crab. I guess it was stuffed with a cornbread and cheese, it was sort of a soggy mess of stuff on the inside. The plate was swimming in a sauce that I could only describe as something overly sweet and a touch sour. It was very runny, and way too sweet, it completely overpowered everything. The pepper and the crab were delicious but I feel the whole dish would have been so much better without the sauce. It was supposed to be something with charred tomatillos, so I was expecting something closer to a salsa verde, but this didn't taste like it had tomatillos at all. Not sure what happened there. The drinks were good. I got ATX which is just their house margarita. It looked like the mix came out of a draft and then they poured the tequilla into it. It wasn't shaken at all and it really needed a quick shake or at least some stirring to chill it down. Not sure if that's how they always do or the bartender was just rushing since I'd been waiting so long. But the first few sips were quite pungent due to this.I was struggling to get any bartenders attention to get more water and order another drink. Service was pretty terrible even though most of the bar had cleared out by this point. I finally got another drink order in and asked between two which was more direct. The bartender oddly didn't know what I was saying, and I tried to clarify which one is a more spirit forward cocktail. This was the Miguel Hidalgo. A combo of rye whiskey and anejo tequila. Very unique, and went surprisingly well together, really enjoyed this cocktail.Overall the restaurant is pretty and has a nice vibe with a big open air feel. Some small misses on taste and service, and a little on the pricier side, but I wouldn't pass on another meal here.

They have a great happy hour - it's asmall menu but everything is delicious! Would definitely recommend this spot if you're seeking modern Mexican food. Service was great and efficient. We sat on the patio which is the perfect spot for a sunny Austin day.

ATX Cocina remains one of our absolute favorite restaurants in Austin. We've been a few other times and the insanely amazing food and drinks, great service, and ambience never let us down. I tried a new vegan masa option and the Brussels sprouts made vegan and they are just perfection. Just the best :)

Ambiance is wonderful. Clean, airy, if I could say a place has "mezcal" vibes, this is it. Perfect for date night or girls margs night! Margaritas were great. They don't have frozen if you're into that, but bartender was knowledgeable on allllll the other options, so wasn't a problem. Was able to get the guac and the fish tacos off happy hour. Guac was amazingly fresh and fish tacos were exquisite. Could have eaten 6 of them. Quick service too!!!

4.8 stars. This place is for foodies. Fancy dishes with ingredients you may not recognize, but everything I tried was so freaking good. I felt like I was on one of those cooking shows.. where you never know what's coming out but it ends up fire. The best way to order is to order lots & split everything for your table so you can try a variety. The espresso martini was made well with a hint of maple which I really enjoyed. Wether you choose to sit inside or out there's really not a bad seat in the house. I can't wait to go back!

I need another Coco No Loco Mocktail ASAP!! This was my third (or fourth, I lost count) time back at ATX Cocina and once again loved everything I tasted. Brought my mom for her birthday this time and she also was impressed. Our server was very knowledgeable and patient with us, he had like 5-6 tables and I admired how well he did managing so many orders as a former waitress. Excited to come back soon :)

Overrated!First off, front desk hosts are rude. If you don't have a reservation they don't treat u well. You can ask them several times if a table comes up while u patiently sip a drink at the bar but even with half the restaurant empty, they won't give you a table once u are at the bar. The food was average! Nothing to cry home about! The drinks were average too! My biggest pet peeve is the fact that we asked for a HOT SAUCE, server didn't say there was a charge for hot sauce. They brought us a small serving of hot sauce and we finished it with appy so asked for more. He brings just a side of small hot sauce again, next thing I know they charged us $5 each for the hot sauce. So we ended up paying $10 for hot sauce that we didn't realize was a thing. Now that just left a bitter taste .. yes it's only 10 but hey atleast tell us. We had no idea we were being charged for hot sauce. Anyway, our experience was underwhelming to say the least!
