One of the best, interactive meals I've had in years. It starts with the space, a "studio apartment" with a quasi commercial kitchen. The space is small, intimate - in a very good way.Adding to the atmosphere is a vinyl soundtrack of excellent selections. Motley Crue when we walked in and ending with the six album Swans performance. Ridiculous!Every dish was well done on such a small kitchen. The concept plays through extraordinarily well. Particularly with Chef Grae Nonas, of Le Cowboy at the helm. How does he get this food out of that kitchen? Talent, truly! He's doing it alone, save the very good staff assisting. We chose the Chef's Tasting with Wine Pairing and several supplements from the main menu.Wine choices are on point. Eclectic, yet serious. They have a wine club for those interested and within shipping distance. You won't be disappointed.Joe is your host for the evening. He's your DJ. He's also the Sommelier and guide. On a good night, you might be able to chill after hours with the team. Just saying...Best seats, if you're interactive, is the 4-seat bar. Otherwise, sit in the six table dining area. Dare I mention, Michelin Recognized...

It pains me to do so, but I sadly have to give my experience at Apt 115 (during the Le Cowboy collab) a sub-par rating. The service was friendly but the food took WAY too long to come out. They have a TINY kitchen thats literally just a small corner of the bar where all the food is prepared. We ordered a couple courses and in between each course was 30-45 minutes of wait time. We were seated at 5:45p and didn't leave until after 8p. We ended up needing to cancel our after-dinner plans because the pacing was so off. Maybe it wouldn't have been so bad if the portions were larger, but we would literally finish a course in a matter of minutes and then sit around waiting another 30-45 minutes before more food arrived on the table. With that said, the food was good! I just wish it was faster.

Only complaint is that it's so small there aren't enough seats in the bar/restaurant! This is our second time dining here and wow, was everything excellent. The pastas are delicate house made and delicious. The wine pairing was fantastic. I would eat here every weekend.

A cozy, intimate restaurant with a true apartment kitchen setup. I was blown away by the dedication of the chef and service; it was truly a dinner party to remember. The flavor theme of grapefruit began with the delightfully smelling soap in the bathroom, travelled through a fantastic, fun-textured sashimi in ponzu course, and ended with a refreshingly juicy fruit brûlée dessert. These were absolute highlights of the night, as well as fresh strawberry jam with bread and cheeses, and a flavorful duck leg. Other dishes were solid for the most part-- I found the duck leg to be a tad tough and the shrimp and macaroni to be forgettable, however, it was all in all a very pleasant experience for a $70 prix menu. Very rarely do I care about restaurant concepts, but this one was really neat. The location itself was a commercial unit within an apartment, and it was, alas, unit 115. The space was inviting and lovely; I definitely felt like I was enjoying a nice meal at a friend's. The owner and chef certainly felt like friends I would want to chat up again! Thanks for having us!

First off, I want to say that Apt 115 is a super interesting concept, the staff is very friendly, and the service is top tier. Easily 10/10 service. It also wasn't incredibly expensive for fine dining ($90 after tax and tip). Apt 115 is hosted within a cozy, 1x1 apartment building, where the apartment kitchen is the kitchen they use. There's no backdoor kitchen or anything. There's one chef and he makes everything using everyday cooking appliances like hotplates and microwaves. The theme that day was grapefruit, and almost everything, including the bathroom soap (which smelled really really good) had a hint of grapefruit. We started off with oysters, which were super creamy and very smooth. No fishy flavor at all. Next, we had fatty yellowfin tuna covered in some homemade sauce that made it explode with flavor. There were some crunchy onion crisps on top that added to the texture. Probably one of the best dishes I've had, period. We then had shrimp and some cocktail sauce, which was okay but not anything crazy. Afterwards, we had a duck leg, which was flavorful but a bit tough--I wonder if it could've been steamed for longer. Once we had finished, our server brought out a basket full of bread and a cutting board with three different cheeses on top. Now, I'm not really a cheese person, but these cheeses were so good. The strawberry jam that came with it was practically heaven in a dish. I would've paid for just the jam.The last dish was a grapefruit brûlée. It had a crispy, thin layer of melted sugar coating the top. Underneath was the sweet and citrusy fruitiness of the grapefruit. Very well done.I should note the flowers and most of the decorations were edible and actually tasted pretty interesting.I wish the shrimp and the duck leg were a bit better, and that there were larger portions (I had to eat another meal afterwards to feel full), but overall I'm satisfied with what Apt 115 had to offer. I would definitely recommend this place to someone else, but would know that you probably won't be full after your meal. A very very high 4 stars from me.

An interesting restaurant in an interesting neighborhood.I did the chefs tasting menu. The food was great- the duck and the mushroom toast were pretty good. Murder point oyster from Alabama was delish!I was at the bar and could see they were running out of a lot of stuff on a "slow evening" per my server. Eg- they ran out of mint crema for my dessert and I just got a brûléed fruit- not bad just not what's on the menu or what I expected.Def do the tasting menu, you won't regret.

Fully disclosure: Food was great and the flavors were amazing BUT do not go here expecting to come out and be full. Like this is the place you go where you're not starving but also want to just try fun flavors. We went for a friends birthday and had chosen the 5 course pre-fix menu. Below is what we ate:1st course:Tomato salad over pistachio hummus 2nd course: Hamachi topped with garlic chili crisp 3rd course: POACHED TILEFISHBok Choy, Seaweed, Oyster Butter4th course: Tofu with consume & LETTUCE WRAP with Lion's Mane Mushroom5th course: Butternut squash with mole Dessert: Pear ice cream It's a super small place and service was great. It's a place to go and try it out but for sure not to get full.

Updating with another review. This place always is getting better--hard to do when you're at the top already. We had a tuna tartare w roe that was off the chart--even better than the murder point oysters--and the duck confit was incredible. Closing w a Solera Champagne (harvest 2012) to close w dessert put a smile on my wife's face. 5 stars aren't enough.____________________________________My reviews seem to disappear over time but this establishment is always fabulous and another great review is overdue! I just tasted a Fennel Confit that was both savory and addictive. A cheese plate is coming, and the Jamon (Spain) selections look decadent. We also ordered the rabbit--the menu changes all the time, and I've never had the same thing twice, but we've come here for years for the amazingy curated wine selection. I honestly could not speak more highly of any place for wine and small plates in an intimate setting. The staff are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable and the experience would not be complete without them. New Years Eve here is incredible, by the way, even if I'm off-topic--there is always a bomb wine and bubbles tasting. 5 STARS!

The chefs tasting menu was all good except for the crab tasting bun one when eaten you get a burst of crab flavor which over powered the dish in my opinion. Aside from that presentation was very nice and food was a good interactive experience. The desserts were all very tasty. The service was attentive for the whole night. The decor inside was old to modern looking in some areas but fun as well. Gave your eyes something to look at. Music plays from a vinyl record so it's really nice.

The host / owner(?) went above and beyond in accommodating us to the max. He explained the wines thoroughly and then allowed us to move to the bar after we had ordered... and if you're wondering why we moved to the bar, it's because that's where the magic happens. The concept of rotating chefs + the menu every couple months if phenomenal! and the whole atmosphere of feelings like your in someone's home is cozy and unique! It was super cool to see the chef prepare all the dishes in a tiny kitchen and how composed they were.Tried the stracciatella which was mouthwatering, the caesar was rather acidic but the combo with the crispies toned it down... oh and if the cannolis are available , ORDER THEM!!!Would 100000% come back if I am ever in Austin again
