Amy's Ice Cream

I think Amy's is a solid Austin staple being from this city. I'll give 4 stars. A little taken aback this experience unfortunately. My son turned 20 and wanted an ice cream cake. There are other options for a pickup ice cream cake but decided to get it from Amy's for various reasons and order the cake. On site I noticed you can add some writing. So on the cake for an additional request I said add " Happy Birthday ..." Three days went by and went to pick it up. Was told they aren't trained to write on cakes so you can only preorder cakes they have in stock premade. No birthday anything. A phone call in advance would have been nice or more clarification on the website. I already had paid on the website and tipped for them to do that for me. I assume since they aren't trained to write on a cake that they probably don't make them either, so wish I would have known in advance, but It was just what it was when I picked it up and I just left with the cake. Good cake but some advance notice of some sort would have been nice for the customer.

I recently visited Amy's Ice Cream in Austin, and honestly, it didn't live up to the hype for me. The experience felt very basic -- nothing stood out about the flavors or texture. While the vibe was casual and fun, the ice cream itself was just average. It's the kind of place you'd go for a quick treat, but nothing memorable. In comparison, I've had better experiences at other ice cream spots where the flavors are more creative and the quality feels a step above. If you're looking for something exciting or unique, Amy's might not hit the mark. It's a decent spot for a casual dessert, but definitely not my personal favorite.

Love Amy's!! The staff is always very welcoming and eager to let you try new flavors on the menu. Although they have plenty of great options, I always get the Sweet Cream with MnM's and rainbow sprinkles.

Ice cream is unique and amazing as always. I prefer some of the more original locations. Staff was not friendly at this location and the vibe wasn't as fabulously strange as the other Amys I've visited before. Quiet and we were the only other patrons.

Not sure what the buzz is all about. I did go to Amy and tried their flavors. The people were friendly and let us try their flavors but they did not have anything exotic nor the flavors weren't out of the world. I have had better ones. Check out their popular flavors but it was super affordable!

Love this location of Amy's they are not very busy and the staff is nice. The upbeat music is always to look forward to.

The best ice cream is MexicanVanilla with chocolate sprinkles and fresh frozen strawberries!!!!!

We had just finished eating a local restaurant and was in the mood for some sweets! We were super excited to see Amy's Ice cream there! It was nice and cold inside! There wasn't a line and the one person working was super sweet! I ordered a large ice cream with Oreos and a small Mexican vanilla! Everything was delicious and we love Amy's Ice Cream!! This is always a favorite for us!

Yes please, Amy's. Yes please. First, everyone I have talked to at this location has been great. Everyone! Super friendly, laid back, and really patient, especially when my 8 year old has FOMO and wants everything! His cookie and cream ice cream looked incredible, and my hubby said it was the best he's had for cookies and cream anywhere. My favorite combo right now is honey brandy with their pecan caramel situation, and let me tell you. On a hot day it is the PERFECT treat. Perfect. Not too sweet, but just sweet enough and a perfect compliment to the honey bourbon. I get a little overwhelmed with all of their flavors, but it matters not, because there are so many different combos of deliciousness. Ube, Vietnamese Coffee, Zilker Mint Chip, give me it all! Even without toppings, this ice cream is solid. There is a flavor for all tastes, and it is delicious every time! Can't go wrong with Amy's!

This Amy's is conveniently located next to a movie theater, which is perfect for post-movie treats! The vibe is fun and fantastical, but the ice cream flavors sometimes aren't as consistent at other locations I've been to (hence the 4-star).Most recently, I stopped in with my sister and sampled three flavors between deciding to order my usual combo of Mexican Vanilla with mini gummy bears, but changing things up to include one of the flavors I sampled. The Shark Bait flavor was good, but extremely mild. The Blanco Margarita was very tasty and I was torn between ordering that or the Marshmallow PB Cup, but ultimately decided the Marshmallow PB Cup would pair better with the Mexican Vanilla. It was delicious with the gummy bears! One thing I would like to see is common allergens (specifically nuts, gluten, etc) being labeled on the large menu. Currently, they offer "ices," which imply dairy-free, but it would be beneficial to see other main allergens also noted, rather than having to request ingredient information for each flavor. This would just make things more convenient, but does not impact my rating. Otherwise, I love having an Amy's so close to home and am always happy to stop in for a special treat!
