Abo Youssef Mediterranean Food

This is the second time I've been to this food truck and it tasted as good as I remembered! This food truck is located right behind Valero Gas if you're heading down east Manor. Kinda easy to miss if you're passing by quickly but if you see something that looks vaguely like a silver submarine, you're at the right place! There's some parking spots (2-3) near the truck but if those are filled, there's street parking nearby too. There are also picnic tables right next the truck where you can enjoy your food (just be warned that there are usually a lot of flies in that area).Service is quick and the owner is always friendly! He gave my friend some free baklava with her order since it was her first time trying this place out. He would also occasionally poke his head out of the truck and ask if we were enjoying the food, which was sweet as well.Mix Gyro and Chicken Shawarma Plate ($16.99, 4.5/5)- Super big portion sizes - can last at least 2 meals! All the ingredients work really well together, just the right amount of flavor. I preferred the gyro over the chicken shawarma, so might just get the pure gyro plate the next time I visit.Overall this spot is affordable, food's delicious, and the service is great! Would highly recommend - this has become my go-to spot for Mediterranean food in Austin and you get to support a kind owner and his business while you're at it.

Wait, this is no ordinary food truck! The gyro plate was delicious and had a generous portion or three. I was going to just order the gyro and a salad, but the chef convinced me the plate was an awesome deal with its extra meat and rice. It was so very yum. The baklava was so fresh and tasty as well. Love this place and will try more things on the menu for sure!Everything came out reasonably fast. Nice place, and I'm so glad we tried it for our Food Truck Friday

I'm so happy I stumbled across Abo Youssef because this will be my go-to spot for Mediterranean food! Everything was incredibly delicious, fresh, and the owner could not be nicer. I'll be back and will rave about Abo Youssef to others!FAST FACTS:* Parking - Food truck is located in the parking lot for the Valero gas station but there is free street parking available in the nearby neighborhood* Outdoor Seating - Picnic tables set up to the right of the food truck with coverings* Online ordering - Pick up orders can be placed through GrubHub* Closed on SundaySERVICE - The owner could not be nicer and the food was ready quickly! Plus, he threw in some baklava for free, which was incredibly sweet.PRICING - The total was $29.21 after tax but before tip for a chicken shawarma plate ($14.99) and a grilled chicken wrap ($11.99). I think the pricing was very reasonable for how much food you get and how delicious and fresh it was!CHICKEN SHAWARMA PLATE (9/10) - This was delicious! You get SO much chicken and it was very tender and flavorful. Plus, it's coated in plenty of sauce and you get rice, hummus, and a cucumber and tomato salad on the side plus a side of pita bread. I'd order this again!GRILLED CHICKEN WRAP (9/10) - Also delicious but definitely not the prettiest to look at. It's a little messy but every bite is packed with flavor... again, you get a ton of chicken, cucumber, tomato, bell pepper, lettuce, and tzatziki. The pita bread was the perfect thickness and texture. I'd order this again.BAKLAVA (9/10) - This was complimentary from the owner and I'm so happy we got to try it! I usually find baklava too sweet but this one was amazing! I'd order this again.This was my first but definitely won't be my last time stopping by Abo Youssef! I completely understand the amazing reviews because it's THAT good. I'd recommend it to others for sure!

I've been meaning to check out Abo's for 3 years, but unfortunately have never gotten around to it until tonight! I used to live on Manor and would always walk or drive by it, and I have heard nothing but awesome reviews of their food and service.From the start, it was really easy to place an order online through their website. I love how they have plenty of images of their food (I'm a visual person, so this helps me order), and their pricing is extremely reasonable. Service was quick, too. My food was ready in about 25 minutes. The staff at the truck were really warm and kind, and thanked me for my order. The truck itself is really well set up, and they have a nice vibe going on there.The food itself was delicious! I got the gyro plate with lamb and beef, and it came with a warm pita bread on the side, as well as some hummus, rice, and a little tomato salad. The meat was well-cooked and extremely tasty, as was everything else on the plate. Such a great spot. I'll definitely be back for more soon!

The food is incredible, high quality and delicious. My favorites are the mixed plate and falafel gardenia plate.Also, the owner is really nice and friendly. We love this food truck so much!

The food here is SO GOOD! My family is from the Middle East and I haven't had really excellent Mediterranean food since moving here. It feels and tastes homemade! So I can't believe that I've been in Austin for more than a year and am only now discovering this truck and his food. Everything is made fresh to order and you can taste that it's all high quality. And he is so kind hearted and generous with his portions! Don't get thrown off by the location. It's in a small parking area off a Valero gas station with a small market. There are seats to the side if you want to eat there or of course you can take it to go. Truly, the food is fresh and delicious I'll be back.

Food and service really great. Nicest guy from Egypt, serving up delicious mediterranean authentic cuisine. Unassuming environment in a gas station parking lot but to me, that means it's gotta be good :) Thanks for the rice pudding my guy!
