Incredible, high quality food. This is easily one of the better restaurants in Austin. Our server Marvy was very sweet and attentive. Highly recommend the wagyu pho and can't wait to come back!

The food was great! I usually get the vermicelli with shrimp & pork. Our server made my friend (first timer) feel welcomed. We split the spring rolls and they were delicious. The drinks and ambiance were beautiful.

Had a wonderful time here with my family on Monday. Would HIGHLY recommend making a reservation online. The fried rice was fire and the dumplings hit the spot. Only thing that bothered us was that our appetizers came out at the same time our regular entrees did. Overall I will come back!

THE BIG: Asian fusion at it's finest! Located in riverside and tucked inside the AMLI South Shore center. Pretty big space however it's always busy. Parking is available in the lot and garage.THE BLACK AND WHITE: Been here a couple of times and finally coming to writing a review. Let me say this is the spot I recommend to friends who are visiting from out of town and looking for a trendy asian fusion spot.We typically get the soup dumplings (has a lot of soup inside), the crispy pad Thai (my favorite dish here), and a curry. The last time we came here we got the red duck curry, but you can't go wrong with any of the other curries. They also have all day dim sum if you're craving dim sum items. We got the lava bao for dessert and it was delicious. If you have 6+ diners, they automatically charge a 20% tip just a heads up.THE FINAL BAMBOO: The last meal I had here was with six people and we got 8 dishes (and 2 cocktails) that came out to around $200. Not bad and we got a sampling of everything. Highly recommend.

1618 has been at the top of my restaurant rankings ever since I moved to Austin! A beautifully decorated, warm and inviting gem in East Riverside, this restaurant has yet to disappoint me. My favorite dishes from the past 5 times I have come here are:Pineapple fried rice: plated in half a pineapple, it is an endless pit of savory rice. I like how generous the portion is and the variety of ingredients in this dish.Pad thai: flavorful and on the spicier side. I heard their crispy pad thai is also tasty!Pho (rib and fmigon): I remember the presentation was fun for this dish, with the server pouring the soup onto the bowl of noodles! The flavor was slightly different from the Pho I usually have at Vietnamese restaurants, but I believe it is adopted from a different region. Still delicious! XLB: full of soup and very tasty. Well balanced appetizer! My family was impressed with the authenticity of this dish in particular.

AVOID: sesame chickens. It's like Panda Express, perhaps a bit higher quality, but really close to Panda Express flavor. It's the most disappointing dish at 1618 so far. MUST try: 4 season duck. They put a lot of thought in this dish. All ingredients on the dish just make sense and add values to it. Truffle mousse: it was alright. I won't order it again. I'll stick to the Everest cheesecake going forward.

Delicious and surprisingly authentic Asian fare in a stylish atmosphere. The menu contains an impressive variety of items - Vietnamese (vermicelli bowls and pho), Chinese (dumplings and dim sum), Thai (curries and stir-fries), etc. If you are an Asian food enthusiast like me, it is challenging to choose! It makes me want to go back and try everything! The drinks were delicious - I had the Mezcal Passion Mule. I love Asian flavors in drinks. The spring rolls ($8), calamari ($11), steak curry ($17 during happy hour), and fried rice ($16 during happy hour) were all phenomenal. Nothing was particularly spicy, which might appeal to those less familiar with Asian cuisine. The staff were attentive and polite.

Well decorated space. Front entrance not on the main road fyi and parking is inside with 3 hour parking retail spots. Drinks: "A" coffee was like heaven-like a tiramisu drink. My foodie sister said it's a traditional Vietnamese drink. I had a sip of her limoncello and yummy. Like candy drink with a kick. Food: Fusion is not my regular go to but this was worth a try. If you like the southern Vietnam (sweeter) then their fried fish was worth the try. The chili oil and fish sauce helped make it more to my and my foodie soulmate sister's liking. We had dim sum-the shrimp fried shumai was good. The salted egg didn't cut it---sweeter bao than I expected but pretty with the edible gold streak. The duck bao was ok. Our favorite was the duck soup with the egg noodle. The server forgot to oack it to go for us though but it definitely hit the spot for us! Military discount: YES.
