1431 Cafe

Everything here is delicious. Very large portions and short wait for food. Wish they were open evenings.

I went in on a Sunday morning and sat at the bar. I got seated instantly and placed my food order pretty quick. The ambiance wasn't anything special when compared to other restaurants in the same arena. The food too me lacked the seasoning and flavoring that would excite my taste buds, especially the chicken fried steak. Overall it was great visit.

I cannot respond to the condescending "business owner" Earl F so i will just write another review lol ans give another 1 star. :) WHAT TYPE OF BUSINESS OWNER SLANDERS POTENTIAL CUSTOMERS ON HIS OWN YELP?! Lol No rules were "stated" when we arrived about the blinds that were literally BLINDING my boyfriend while we were seated. Maybe get some new lights if your restaurant is "too dark" with one set of blinds partially closed. On top of that, we specifically stated there would be 5 in the beginning so sorry the woman in the glasses at the host stand wasn't able to hear correctly. You didn't have to seat us immediately we didn't even complain if there was a wait. Yall were the ones who rushed to get us seated even though there were other parties so lets not blame the customer in regards to yall rushing to seat people when yall had a "full lobby and guests outside". Maybe take some accountability in yalls own actions in regards to your staff being so unruly rude to my family and in other reviews seems like it's very common for your staff to be rude to their guests. Hmm maybe it's a you problem. Considering your reply to half of the 1 star reviews being so ungodly rude and condescending no wonder your staff seems to think it's okay to treat guests with such rudeness. Again, take some accountability Earl. Maybe some new staff and maybe a class on "how to treat customers" and look into getting better lighting so blinds can be closed if a guest is getting BLINDED by the sun and then rudely told to close the blinds because it gets "too dark" lol. Spent the last 24 hours preparing for a colonoscopy and after having been put under at the center in Leander we chose 1431 Café to have breakfast.The Medical Center had given me an ice cold Coke to drink to help me recover from being put under.We got to the 1431 Café probably was going to spend about $40 and was told by some young lady. She was young that you could not bring a Coke in . My wife explained that I just had a medical procedure and that the doctors office had given me the Coca-Cola to drink, but the server said that you could not bring your own sodas in and I said well I at least want to finish this one before I order another one she said that was policy.Goodbye, so we walked out never to come by again, they've lost our business forever and they lost a $40 ticket at least today.So they lost $40 and they didn't get the benefit of selling a Coca-Cola. They have their policy and where did it get them. We vote with our dollar and I don't recommend anybody go to 1431, their prices are way too high and their attitude sucks.

NEVER GOING BACK. The experience at this restaurant was soured by the incredibly rude hostess (short hair and glasses), whose cold and extremely rude demeanor set the tone for the entire visit. Despite the food being ok (closer to subpar), the unwelcoming attitude and condescending behavior from the staff made it nearly impossible to enjoy the meal. I would not recommend returning unless you're prepared for an unpleasant greeting and service that leaves much to be desired.Oh and the "manager" (female). If it was my restaurant let's say she would not be working there anymore. She is soooooo rude.

I had heard about 1431 cafe for awhile, but had never been. Went on a Sunday after church, and the food, service, friendly staff, and atmosphere were amazing. I will be back for sure! Thanks to their yummy grits and biscuits and gravy!

Today my family was asked to leave after being seated.Had our drinks and had placed our order for 5. The host came over and asked us to move tables because a bigger party could use the table and wanted us to sit in a smaller table that we didn't all fit. Because they weren't nice about it, my family said no, the manager then came over and told us she canceled the food order and that we needed to leave. Now that I look at reviews, seems like it's a norm to accept behavior like this from staff. They need better training. Treating customers like that is unacceptable. Will be letting family and friends know about the incident also, leaving this review anywhere possible so other customers know how this establishment treats customers.

We went to 1431 Cafe again this morning and another wonderful experience. I ordered the porkchops once again. Everything was delicious right down to the gravy on the side. Our server was excellent and brought us our food quickly, so I would say that was a team effort. The place is not fancy, it just has good food and good service at a reasonable price.

Sunday afternoon we had plans for a Halloween trivia train ride. My friends recommended this place for lunch beforehand since it's close to the train station. I immediately said yes because I love a classic diner! 1431 Cafe was exactly what I hoped it would be. The wait for a table at Sunday around noon wasn't too bad, and fortunately there were a few chairs and benches for waiting outside. I wanted to try everything on the menu, but settled on the Club Sandwich and Broccoli Cheese Casserole. Delicious! Although I was disappointed the broccoli had rice in it. My husband couldn't eat his hash browns, so I tried those too, and they were better than expected. The omelettes were hits. My friend thought his pork chop was underwhelming. I had to have some pie to finish. Peanut Butter Oreo was the right choice! It was rich but so worth it! I'd look for an excuse to come up here again!

Holy wow! looking for huge portions of unique twists on southern comfort food for either breakfast or lunch?!? this cafe has a really interesting menu and both breakfast and lunch are served all day. Chicken fried bacon anyone?!? Don't miss that delicacy!! But equally good are the omelets, pancakes and eggs benedict varieties (corned beef hash with cream cheese and a chipotle hollandaise? say no more!)Shannon may have been the most knowledgable, humorous and relatable server I've ever had. he gave honest menu advice, was prompt and checked back regularly to fill water glasses, clear plates, etc. Decor is simple, comfortable and allows for a full restaurant to not feel crowded or chaotic. lucky for my waistline I live an hour away. really lucky for my tastebuds that it's worth the drive!
