1117 Smokehouse and Saloon

Absolutely love this place!! I'm a born Texan but not a big BBQ fan. Until I ate at the 1117 Smokehouse!! Best brisket I've ever had! The sausage, ribs and chicken are all so flavorful!! Sure wish they were open more days so we could get some marvelous food during the week! Give them a try, You won't be disappointed!!

This business replaces a previously successful barbecue joint that closed down in this same location. My mother in law stopped in and picked me up some barbecue from the new business, 1117 Smokehouse And Saloon. She picked up brisket, sausage, ribs, beans, and barbecue sauce. When she got to the house, I was not sure what to expect. I was hoping this new business did not disappoint, and was not just poaching the previous customers from the last business. I had high expectations, and was hoping not to be let down. I tried all things she brought home, minus the sausage (I do not generally do not care for it overall - no offense). Everything I had was delicious. The brisket was moist, the right amount of smoke, and was delicious. The ribs were also fall of the bone tender, and meaty. Very delicious. The beans were also very tasty, and the barbecue sauce was awesome. I will say the beans had more of a gluey texture to them that I was not used to, and did not care for. However, the sticky texture did not take away from the flavor. I would definitely recommend this place for some tasty barbecue. If you are on this long stretch of desolate road known as FM 1117, definitely stop in. Oh, and I almost forgot to mention, they are only open on the weekends. Be sure you slow down to read the sign before you whiz by. I do plan on revisiting this review and updating it on my next visit soon.Enjoy!
