I love this spot. It hands down has the best salas in the state. Been coming here for the last 7 years and I can't recommend this place enough! I'm from Mexico and can vouch for their authenticity. I've tried the other location too and they are very consistent. Of allll the spots in co springs, this is my favorite

We love Zapata! The food is consistently yummy and there are a number of items in the menu for the health-conscious. The tacos and salads are particularly good. The owner is always friendly, the restaurant is clean, and the portion sizes are perfect. Highly recommend.

Came here after a hike. It's clean and has a lot of seating. You order and sit anywhere. The service was good. My chicken bowl tasted like the chicken was frozen and grilled after. My friends Charito tacos were ok but way too saucy. The bathroom had no toilet paper. Prices were ok. Just an average experience

Apparently I was on a Tex Mex kick the last time I was in COS. We had La Casita one day and Zapata the next while in town for a long weekend. Zapata was the favorite, even though we really didn't try too much of the menu. Service was friendly and our food came out fast.We went in for breakfast burritos, and grabbed an extra Cali burrito for later. The bacon, egg, potato and cheese bfast burrito was a good size and a touch salty. I really like how they have a salsa bar inside with several options - the roasted red and avocado salsas were our favorites. Our Cali burrito (asada, fries, cheese) traveled well and we ended up eating it later in the day on the road. Regulars recommended their Zapata burrito and fish tacos, which we'll keep in mind for the future, since family lives nearby.

This is my first and last time I go to Zapata. I got the Birria quesadilla and it was terrible. The meat tasted like salami, and there is fat throughout the quesadilla. It got served with guacamole, lettuce, and sour cream instead of onions and cilantro. I checked before I left and there was no consommé. I went back in and asked he said that would be an additional $2.50 but gave it to me for free when he saw I wasn't going to pay that. I literally cannot even finish this food from how bad it taste just the first 2 bites made my stomach hurt.I wish that I did not go and highly don't suggest it if you're looking for authenticity.

I had googled best places to eat in Colorado Springs that wasn't very expensive. I was pleasantly pleased with the quality of their food true authentic Mexican food. I highly recommend it.

Zero limes placed in our order even though we asked for extra!! Tacos de tripa (tripe) were great the first time I had them... However, this time they didn't taste clean OR crispy at all.. The tortillas were cold and the horchata was powdery as well. Made me want to toss the whole order... So disappointing!
