This place is my absolute favorite!! It is so refreshing to have an amazing spot like this in the community! Deja! You are the most magnificent gem! The service, the food, the atmosphere, the drinks!! A small perhaps unnoticed delight is the art work and crafts for sell! I do not know who the manager is (yet) but please keep this up! Love it.

So, this place is fairly new in a community where I used to live. It's in a corner location of a strip mall, and that location has seen many different restaurants over the years. I must say, if Yo Mommas Cantina doesn't up their game they're not going to last long. We got there just as they were opening for lunch on a week day. First customers in the door. The interior decorations are great, and the place has a really cool vibe! Time to order some grub! We wanted to have a light lunch, since we had plans for dinner but needed something to tide us over. So, we opted to share a plate of their chicken flautas and queso dip. The flautas were actually quite tasty, and only mildly oily. The queso dip arrived at room temp, which made it very thick. It tasted like melted Velveeta, so not very appetizing. The complimentary chips and salsa were completely uninspiring. The salsa looked more like tomato paste, and was not my desired flavor profile for salsa. The diet cola was flat. Even after we told the server and received a glass of soda from a different area of the restaurant, it was still flat.Bottom line, I'd go back if I was in the area (and skip the queso), but would not drive across town for it.

This was our third time here. We loved the food the first time, the second time the wait was insanely long for our drinks and salads (20+ minutes) and this third trip is making us not want to come back. Today, we got a single salad, queso and two happy hour tacos - no drinks. The wait was insanely long for not only the food but to be seated. We actually had to wave at the bartender to get someone's attention to get seated. The salad was not the same from the first time we were in. The dressing was skimped, the avocado hard, and the rest seemed dried out. The tacos were smaller in size (and both times we got them it was happy hour). Overall, we're not impressed and more so every time we come.

Decided to try this place since it is close to where I live and I heard they have a great happy hour. The bar seating was full at 5:00pm so that was a sign the word was out.Service was friendly. I was greeted when I walked in the door. Happy Hour specials run M-F 3-5:30pm, Sat 3-5pm. 1/2 off house margaritas (which are made with a silver tequila), 1/2 off select tacos and apps, $3 off wine, $2 off select draft beers.Chips and salsa are complimentary. Unlike other reviews, I found the salsa flavorful, just not spicy. What was spicy was the corn dogs but this is noted in the menu. The phat corn dog is a jalapeño stuffed with brisket, cheddar and cream cheese. The gringo taco was served street taco style on a soft corn tortilla. The meat had good seasoning and flavor but was a bit too oily. What was a pleasant surprise was the bill. My friend and I split the phat corn dog appetizer, each had a taco, and one of us had a cocktail. With HH prices it came to less than $18. I had to do a double take when I signed for my part of the tab. Definitely a place to go if you are on a budget.

This location had had many different businesses and restaurants over the years. I haven't tried a single one until Yo Mammas came along and I think I waited for the best. Very good food that has a unique take on many happy hour favorites. The complimentary chips and salsa were very good-the salsa was favorable. We split the happy hour order of Yo mommas' jalapeño popper corn dog. Spicy but well worth it. I also ordered a single chicken tinga taco-tasty as well. The restaurant has several pieces of art work on display-most which can be purchased if something tickles your fancy. Overall, great place and will be back.

I was hoping to really like this place as it's close to my work, but sadly what little I tried left a lot to be desired. I met some friends for happy hour so we shared some chips and salsa and also added a queso. Thank goodness we ordered the queso because it wasn't too bad. But man, the salsa tasted like marinara sauce. Not sure I really want to come back and try anything else if you can't get salsa right. Very cool vibes though and the service was very attentive.

I read a bunch of reviews and waited a few months before trying this place. I wanted to wait till they worked out their kinks from newly opening. We arrived prime dinner time and were greeted immediately by a really nice young lady at the door and sat right away. She mentioned Christina was going to be our server. I read a TON of reviews that said how great she was and none of them lied. She has the best attitude and quick to check on you, give suggestions, and always with a smile. She is awesome! We asked about a few things on the menu and she was honest with her responses which I really appreciate. I do appreciate how much they changed the place since it was Flaming Joes. Now it is much more open, inviting and brighter. The decor is pretty with some Day of the Dead photos on the wall and some Mexican style designs and cactus on the tables. We started with chips and salsa and ordered margaritas. The house made chips were delicious. I love the saltiness of them a lot. The salsa though, it left a lot to be desired. It had no flavor or kick to it. It need some pepper flavor. Basically tomato sauce with some seasonings. The margaritas arrived and although they were smaller than I thought (high ball glasses) they were delicious and tasted like they use real lime juice versus premade stuff. We order the corn dogs. I first read this and was like ' I hate corn dogs' but if you read the description they are basically Texas twinkies. Jalapenos stuffed with smoked brisket, cream cheese and cheddar and then dipped in corn dog batter and deep fried on a corn dog stick. You can tell these are made from scratch. They are then drizzled with two different sauces. One is like a crema and the other was a spicy BBQ type sauce that was SPICY. My jalapeno was really spicy too. Between the two my mouth was burning. The complete opposite of the salsa. Next we got an arrangement of tacos. 5 different ones. On Tuesday all chicken and pork tacos at $3. I opted for a few of those since the tacos range from $5.50 - $8 each. That can really add up! We got the chicken tinga, al pastor, carne asada, chorizo and grilled cod tacos. All came out much larger than expected and packed with the protein. I mean packed! Made the price worth it a bit more. The al pastor and chicken tinga were my favs. Both super tender fall apart meat and had great flavor. The carne asada was kind of a weird texture and I got a bunch of fat pieces. It also lacked some flavor in the meat. My husband favorite was the chorizo. He said the cod was good but extremely spicy. Like burn your mouth, can't taste anything spicy. Maybe if they toned that down a bit. Overall they were good, but could have been better. My overall thoughts are, they are still working through some kinks. Especially with the menu. I have seen it change quite a bit over the past few months. Some items on the menu seemed priced really high such as 2 enchiladas for $22. I can get a really good enchilada plate around the area for $10-$15 and you get a minimum of 3. I saw a few of the burritos go by and they look HUGE and amazing. I think next time my husband and I can share one and try another appetizer. I will be back for their happy hour. It goes Mon - Fri 4-6 and Sat and Sun 3 - 6. Yes! Weekend happy hour! During those times margaritas are half off, which I am totally in on. I wouldn't change anything about the service. It was impeccable!

This place is still fairly new, but it was kind of a let down. We ordered the queso and chips, the queso reminded us of mac & cheese sauce. I also ordered the Al Pastor tacos, and they were extremely salty. The servers were very kind and attentive. I also enjoyed the full remodel and the restaurant is decorated so beautifully! Overall, I was excited for this place and was let down.

Yo Mommas Cantina, just might be one of 'Yo' favorite places to eat! It's not your average Mexican restaurant, I'll tell you right now. You have to go into this unique-type of Mexican-Spanish(some say TEX, I say EH) place with an open mind. Their homemade tortilla chips were pretty bomb, but their homemade salsa could use a little more flavor. I decided to go with the Carne Asada's. Muy Bueno! (A little spicy, tho). My husband got their 'Enchilada Special.' Their tortilla was deep fried a little, maybe? ...and it was SO DELICIOUS!!! If you're looking for a New Happy Hour spot, you will indeed enjoy it! (*ATTENTION MARGARITA LOVERS!!!*)The ambiance was relaxed, and the staff was awesome. It just needs a little more playing around with in flavors with their salsa's... but we will definitely be back!

We had the pleasure of visiting Yo Mommas Cantina during our Christmas family holiday and the restaurant is very clean and Beautiful with a lovely atmosphere, the music is great with an awesome vibe. Our waiter Alex went above and beyond to serve us, never missed a beat. Thank you, Alex you're awesome! The food was Excellent, we had the Tuna Ceviche, the Chicken Flautas, the Churrasco with chimichurri sauce and truffle fries, the Carne Asada tacos, the Shrimp tacos, the Birria tacos. I have never seen a taco served on a double tortilla in Miami, we even tried the Pozole. Everything we ate was delicious, it is all made from starch even the salsas. We went back for the second time at the end of our trip before flying back home and had the Best Shrimp Burrito and an amazing Tres Leches dessert. The drinks were amazing as well and a Big shout out to their bartender Steven for making the Best Long Island Ice Tea and Great Margaritas! It was really nice sitting at the bar and meeting the locals. You can really tell there is hard work and dedication from everyone at Yo Mommas. We will definitely be coming back next time we're in town!
