New location for a staple in the community!Come for the food and stay for the vibe. Everyone is so nice and friendly, it's like eating at home. Everyone in the restaurant was clearly happy to be there and enjoying their time. We had the wings to start and they were cooked perfectly. We had a burger and shrimp dinner. So much food, it's impossible to eat it all. Definitely want to come back and try some of the other items in the menu. Fatima made this a great experience for us and left us feeling like part of the family.

So I was looking for black owned spot while I was visiting Colorado for the weekend. This spot came up on a chamber of commerce site. Glad I saw it. Now, I was certainly a bit of a wait to be seated and there were signs that it would be 35 mins for food to come. I was not in a rush and the hostess stand young ladies were very clear and pleasant in preparing folks. There were a few large parties that afternoon, so wait time made sense. I will say it seems the restaurants popularity and perhaps the kitchen getting up to speed(only open 78days) will make some delay most of the time. Wait time for good food and ambience should be expected. Now, WAS IT WORTH THE WAIT?! I'll get to it. First this restaurant is beautiful. The open dinning area was warm and welcoming. From the paint on the walls, so pictures, the tables, chairs, bar area...all well thought and make for a lively spot to enjoy a meal. Food was great! I kept it simple for lunch. Wings, fried okra, greens, and cornbread. Wings were great...crispy, juicy, and flavorful. I didn't do a sauce, so I could taste the seasoning in the breading was on point. Just what I wanted. Okra was delicious. I dipped sprinkled a little hot sauce and hit the spot. Greens were fantastic. Could have had a little more bite(a little firmer), but the taste was great and I killed them. The cornbread was just fine. Could have come with some honey butter or something else to make it more memorable. I tried a little bit and it was the only thing left on the plate when I left. I ate at the bar, which was the only place to seat me (solo) without taking a whole table and there was no room for that! Bartenders were great. Pleasant young ladies. They represented the place well. As a matter of fact ALL THE STAFF was excellent from my perspective. I had a delicious Old Fashioned. I was looking for my favorite bourbon and asked for it, but they didn't have it. The bartender actually told me she has my favorite at home, but they don't have it there. They are a new restaurant and I am sure they will expand the spirit offerings. Welton Street Cafe'...I was blown away...even with a long wait...it was worth is for some down home "elevated" Soul Food. Great Job!

Saving you some time and money. This place it isn't worth it. Seasoning is mediocre, they take waaay too long. Only good thing was their mini corn bread.Their Mac n cheese tasted and looked terrible. Bad location

So before we even got our food our eyeballs were watching the servers hand out large portions of food that looked like they needed to be on a magazine cover!!! Our server was friendly and recommended everything on the menu!!! Ww even had the pleasure of meeting the owner!!! Great R and B music played at the perfect

Went a few weeks ago and it was tasty! I cleaned my plate and even though we had to set a reservation (new process), it was relatively calm and just an overall good vibe in the place. I actually really like this location and am glad they stayed in Five Points!

After many years in renovation and rebranding the legacy branded Welton Street Cafe is back open! This family owned soul food restaraunt that is located in the historical Five Points neighborhood in Denver CO is alive and well! My family decided to celebrate the 4th day of Kwanzaa (Ujamaa) by supporting local black businesses. For my review I'll let the picture speak for itself. Go by and support so we can continue to keep Five Points as a staple in the Black community

Happy to be able to try this Denver staple!!We had a large group of 10 people on a Sunday and were seated with ease at 12 pm for lunch via reservation. The service was 10/10. Attentive, friendly, down to earth and above & beyond. Food: Fried Chicken Wings- 10/10. They were fried to perfection and had a great seasoning. The hot honey was also divine. Not too spicy, but a perfect balance of sweet & hot. Mac & Cheese- I'd pass on these. Cornbread- I'd pass. It had a good flavor, but was very dry. Yams- very good. I'd get these again. Love that they made my mimosa the way I wanted it too! Champagne with an actual dab of juice. Recommend! Overall, I loved the experience and being in a piece of Denver history. Was it the best soul food that I've had? No, but i'm very biased being from the South. The food was still good. I will definitely be back specially for the fried wings. They were seriously 10/10.

I feel like it's only proper to start a new Yelp page for their reopening. There has to be a better way to do business. You can make resys online but there are hardly any dates ever. They require a 48 hour resv so it can't be something you wake up and decide on. You get there and there's ppl waiting but you walk in and the entire bar is empty and about 10 open tables open but like 10 ppl waiting outside. I just don't get it. Didn't get to try the food as they don't allow walk in.ls. Def left a sour taste in my mouth so I'll skip this one.

The service was perfection! The wait times to be seated and to get our food were a tad bit long. The yams were way too sweet, as was the sweet potato pie. The chicken was bomb. The catfish was pretty good. Cabbage was mid, the greens were good. The macaroni tasted Kraft like but wasn't nasty. The ambiance and vibe was great and a time was had.
