My husband and I considered membership at this club. We are new to Denver and wanted to meet more people who would have similar interests and views. The people were really friendly, I went to a happy hour and everyone was very approachable, and inviting. We went to another event as well and found the same friendly atmosphere. The reason we did not join was that the members are on the older side, and while they said they were trying to draw more younger members there weren't that many. We are both 45 and everyone seemed to be much older, if they were younger we would have joined because we found the crowd to be interesting and similar to us in a lot of ways. The space could use an update, while you can keep the spirit of the building, it was dated, old and not in great condition. The food was also not impressive. When we thought about spending time here working on going to dinner, the draw wasn't there for us. Given the cost, I want a beautiful space with great food.

This is a great venue, that I visited last week, for a Northwestern Alumna Council of 100 (C100) women's networking & mentoring event. It reminded me of the old school clubs like this in San Francisco & on the East Coast - in Philly & DC. The ambiance was collegiate, in look & feel. The appetizers were presented beautifully (provided by us, I believe), and the drinks - provided by the bartender on staff - in particular the non alcoholic, purple punch, was superb. The bartender was also friendly, and conversational, as I arrived late, so he gave me the "lay of the land". Minus 1 star for the faulty projector, during the second presentation.

The atmosphere is tranquil and the food is solid. There reciprocal membership with other clubs across the world is really quite nice. You have to be a member, but they host perspective member meetings monthly. If you are looking for class and charm and a quiet place to have a drink and a bite- this might be the place. The downside, since Covid, they are only open M-F 10-8. They have great events but with no place for Sat brunch or Dinner, it is missing that additional fun time to stop by with friends

I went here for the Macallan Manor whiskey party. The food they served was wonderful and had great flavor and large portions. They also had a very good band playing and plenty of space to dance. The staff was very fast and helpful. The up stairs bar was beautiful with old wood sculptures and very ornate.

This social club is my home away from home. All of the members are extremely welcoming. The food, as others have mentioned, is excellent as well as very reasonably priced. Finally, the historical nature of the club presents a side of Denver vary rarely seen nowadays. I highly recommend one takes the time to check the Club out.

I have dined as a member guest on many occasions. The atmosphere is inviting, the staff are on their game, and as far as the food - they do a really good job! Highly recommend.

Doesn't compare to other University Clubs or their extensive network of reciprocal clubs worldwide - not even close. Lighting and paneling upon entrance: dingy. Smell: combination of restaurant rue and convalescent home smell. It was just awful, and it didn't help that there is a card room in open proximity to the entrance, and I spied a walker parked in the doorway to that room at the same time I felt it smelled like a convalescent home.Dining room carpet (on the first floor): worn and I could have sworn, visibly stained.Didn't bother to see the rest. Futile. And I know the upstairs dining room is supposedly very nice. But still, futile. The entrance ambiance is the worst ever. Now, this is a shame, because this club has a choice building and location in downtown Denver. It could be a great spot but it's seen better days; even the planters and urns on the outdoor patio perimeter are visibly deteriorating. Seems like a vicious cycle at work here: the post mortem might read: just didn't keep up with the times, lost members, didn't add back new ones, and is a ghost of its former self.My one serious bone to pick: the website (uclubdenver.org) makes this place look pristine and in some ways is almost misleading as to its condition and looks,

So this is how the other half dines?I have a colleague who is a member of the University Club. According to him, the only requirement for membership, beyond being sponsored, is to have attended a University. It's certainly a different world. I have been his guest on two occasions, both for dinner. The first visit was Prime Rib night. The second was New Years Eve.Upon entering, I observe a sign stating, "Please turn off your cell phones while in the Club." I like that. We start off in the bar upstairs for cocktails and snacks. The bar is a private room, providing a secluded space for private conversations. This is the ultimate bottle service experience! We then stepped into the dining room. White glove service is the standard. The fare is steakhouse traditional, with aquatic options available. On my first visit, I tried the Prime Rib. The meat was a nicely presented, perfectly cooked slab, with asparagus and au gratin completing plate. My second visit was on NYE, and there was actually a wedding reception in full swing. It's nice having the private bar to escape the din. Dinner started with a shrimp cocktail amuse, tomato bisque, and a NY strip with asparagus and whipped yams. The steak was cooked perfectly. Dessert was cheesecake. The only miss is their coffee; it tasted stale. The Univeristy Club is a nice treat!

I am writing this review as I am in full-on wedding planning mode and am looking forward to holding my wedding reception here this May. Molly, the event coordinator is one of the more relaxed and upfront people that I have come across during this fun, yet stressful time. The menus and alcohol prices are on the more affordable side when comparing to nearby hotels and event venues in downtown. She is very accommodating to our wedding "vision" and is willing to think "outside the box" with us. So obviously I am very pleased with UC and would not have changed a single thing... except their OUTRAGEOUS corking fee of $20 per 750ml bottle. I have never seen such a high corking fee anywhere. And with that being said, I am still super psyched to celebrate my wedding day here!

I just gave my daughter away this weekend and it was amazing. The staff was polite and helpful at every level. I could have not asked for the wedding to be any better. Molly and her husband are wonderful to deal with. We all had the best time, no confusion and was my daughter's and now son in laws dream wedding. Jacob our bar tender was amazing. So patient and curious even when the stress built up. Thank you all for giving us the dream wedding. I highly recommend this venue for your wedding. A 10 out of 10 in my opinion.
