Velvet Elk Lounge

Tremendously disappointed. We planned to have a small gathering at Velvet Lounge on Saturday night after our company holiday party. We went by there 3 weeks ago to make the arrangements. We spoke with a younger guy with a mustache and mullet who wrote down our contact info and indicated to us exactly which booths he was going to reserve for us. Very helpful and we were appreciative to secure a space for our group and have access to live music. When we showed up last night, the bouncer told us the show was sold out. We explained we had made reservations. He asked who had helped us make those reservations. We described who we had spoken with a few weeks before, and as we were doing so, the guy walked by. Unmistakable with his mustache and mullet. He seemed to recognize us. When we explained we were there for our reserved section in the bar, he told us the show was sold out. When we said we understood but we had made reservations just for this reason, he said "we don't take reservations." What?! We said "you were the one who made the reservation for us!" He said, "well, I took down your contact info but that doesn't mean we'll reserve you the space." Very frustrating. Again, we had discussed exactly which booths to reserve and everything. Number of people. Our names. Company name. Phone numbers. Most disappointing of all was that we were lied to right to our faces. Had they told us weeks before that they could not accommodate us, it would have been fine. But we made a reservation and had it all planned. Seems like there needs to be some work done to improve their systems, communication, and customer service at Velvet Lounge. Lying to customers is not a great way to get the business off to a good start.

I went to a show with my roommate, and we got a booth (yay!), and then ordered burgers and French fries. My friend LOVES mustard for his fries. I like mustard on my burgers. Then the server told us that they DON'T have mustard! What!?!? But she did tell us another customer decided to go to another nearby restaurant to ask from some mustard- to- go. I'm glad she gave us that tip, as I ended up doing the same thing. The burger was so good! The fries were yummy! To the Velvet Elk Management... please have mustard available. :)

When a friend reached out and said his brother's band was making a pit stop in Boulder, we knew exactly how we wanted to spend our Friday night!Boulder, Bluegrass and friends? What could be better?Located just off the Pearl Street Mall - this intimate, cozy venue makes for the perfect spot for drinks and music. With the variety of seating, extended dance floor and stage, the unassuming little spot is much bigger than anticipated. The rustic yet chic interior creates one hell of a vibe that was easily felt by all! SO fun!Bartenders were friendly, fun and willing to go the extra mile when it came to fun cocktails and made sure we enjoyed our time in between sets!Cheers to good friends, good music and a new favorite venue up north!

Lovely shows everytime I visit. The staff here is incredibly inviting. Ian and Connor were delightful. Excited every time I visit.

This little spot is so cute-husband and I really enjoyed sitting at the bar and listening to live music while grabbing some awesome cocktails.Service was relatively attentive given how busy the spot was-pretty packed at some points. Drink selection was comprehensive despite not being super extensive, with complex flavors. They also had food bites that sounded like they would be tasty if you were hungry.Music was great, and I think they fulfilled their goal of creating a "cool spot to listen to local artists play and also find a decent cocktail". Would absolutely return!

Awesome Ambiance. Enjoyed the midcentury modern western vibe. Guy at the door was super friendly. Band playing was top notch. Drinks were yummy. 11/10

Spoke to someone in person there to make a reservation for a group of people as part of our work holiday party post-dinner drinks. Was told there was a show that night but we could reserve a few booths in the front area without buying tix to the show since we were just looking to have cocktails. Didn't catch the guy's name- mustache, mullet- but he took my phone number and name, said we were all set for our group of 12. Showed up there for our 8:30 reservation, was told by the bouncer we couldn't come in if we didn't have tickets. I explained the situation and then saw the guy I spoke to walking by. I called him over, and had my colleague with me who was also present when we made the reservation- we both told him hey you gave us a reservation- he lied straight to our faces and said he never spoke to us or gave us a reservation and said we couldn't come in since there was a sold out show. Moved along to the Bohemian Biergarten and had a lovely time with friendly staff.

If you want hip and cool and not the norm of the main strip this is the place . If you have been to pinky's in Savannah that is the vibe. Great place great music great service.
