Stopped by on a Sunday afternoon around 1:30 on a briskly November day. Not only is this little gem charming, but the food and the drinks are tasty too. I started off by ordering a caramel latte, and while I waited I looked over the menu some more. I was pleasantly surprised to see a mortadella sandwich! I love mortadella and have never actually seen one on a menu, but made them at home. Intrigued, I ordered that and then found my seat by the new fire pit they just installed two weeks ago. I pulled out my book and sipped on my latte and waited for my sandwich. It arrived rather quickly given how busy they were. Those girlies behind the counter are truly killing it! Great service! My sandwich was delicious and I was surprised it had burrata in it. So yummy! I continued to read and kept Cozy by the fire. That's definitely the best seat in the house now that it's getting colder. I decided to order another drink, the chai tea and was also very pleased with that. I read for a bit longer and headed out just before the sun started to go down. This location is a 10/10 for those wanted to view the park, people watch, read/journal, conversation with friends and family, or even meet up for a game of chess and some guys had chosen to do. The general manager stopped by and chatted and the overall atmosphere and effort by the employees was definitely noted. This business definitely elevates this neighborhood and I will be returning. I wish more of our parks had a coffee shop in/on the grounds of the old mansions like this.

This place is a new gem along Cheesman park. Perfect for a quick stop for a cocktail, latte, or snack, while visiting the park. I only wish more of the old mansions lining the park would similarly convert their garden to a cafe. The stone fruit bruschetta was my favorite. I do wish they had more breakfast options! Can't wait until my next visit. This spot is great for a casual date, catch up with an old friend, or even to get some work done on your laptop enjoying the fresh air.

Why a four? I was happy to attend here as it was highly recommended for a cafe with beautiful fall views and good bites and coffee. It is adjacent to Cheesman Park and with the fall leaves it was beautiful to sit outside. I got the seasonal quiche and a drip coffee. I give this place a 4 because the parking to get to this place is crazy. I would suggest if you do come, come as soon as they open. Also, I felt the counter service was very slow and it was a long wait for food. Not sure if it is on part of the customer or the staff. I will say that the staff were friendly though and one waitress was particularly helpful. As others have said there is a 19% charge but I guess that does not bother me because I have said if businesses paid their workers a decent wage we would not need do deal with the insane tipping culture we have to deal with (another conversation for another day) so if it helps the wait staff not the end of the world. The quiche was good and the coffee was okay but nothing out of this world but it is a plain coffee. I do agree that some of the prices are a bit high so keep that in mind. I will say this is a good spot to come visit but again would come earlier due to parking in the area.

Came here on a Friday morning and it was busy! Most seats were filled both inside and outside. They were pretty fast with my order and I don't have any complaints, but the line to order did seem daunting at lunch time. I ordered an oat milk latte and got an almond croissant. Both were tasty! Other folks have said this already but they do implement a 19% service charge on all orders and do not take any additional gratuity.

Lots of people are butt hurt at this automatic 19% service charge - so don't come. I am def a fan of this place. Otherwise - it's a lovely spot on the park, few parking spots in front if u don't live within walking distance in the hood, and lots of fabulous outdoor and indoor seating.I love that I can grab my Americano and a healthy salad. It's not going to be cheap - but this isn't your Mission star Beckon sit-down.Yes, things cost more now a days and they tell you upfront about this service charge. This is not a table service place. It's still take a number for food or wait for your coffee.

This location was vacant for so long and we are so excited to have this spot here now! It is right off the walking trail and very low key. You can order at the counter and wait for your items seated with a table number. Service is friendly and the food seems pretty good even though it's simple. Ideal for lunch or happy hour. Really adorable indoor seating available but plenty of outdoor options to enjoy the park. Pig and fig sandwich and green iced tea where both delicious. And yes folks, 19% gratuity is included so def opt out of additional tip. :)

Excited to have this place so close to the park! It's great spot to meet up for a drink with a friend or to get some work done (good WiFi!). They have a surprising amount of seating inside and a great patio backed up right against the north side of Cheesman. Sitting at the secret garden you have a great view of the park itself as well as the nearby gardens of the neighbors that are typically thriving. My only feedback was that in the back room it felt like there were a lot of fruit flies so I'd love to see some sticky paper to try to control that a bit - not my favorite thing to find landed in my wine. I haven't had a chance to try the food here yet but will definitely be back since I pass this location so frequently!

Loved The Secret Garden! It was super cute, and definitely a vibe. We had to eat inside because all the tables were taken outside, but the inside is great as well! Really cute and the food is good. I loved my sandwich, though the burrata on it was super thick and could've had less of it. I got an iced tea and it was good! Definitely planning to go back.

This is a great little gem hidden inside/next to a former socialite's mansion in Cheeseman Park. Well decorated, well stocked, and definitely a happening place. Outside and inside seating is available. The wide array of food and drinks makes for a great stop in place for a drink, snack, or even some heavy apps. Definitely recommend. You will be well taken care of here!
