The Scapegoat

The goat decor throughout the place is hilarious. The Scapegoat is a pretty expansive place with very comfortable bar stool seating and comfy, leather booths. The Scapegoat has some festive holiday cocktails as well any usual bar drink one orders. The Scapegoat has a photobooth that is also a very entertaining. It's a fun place to be and am glad they made Westword's 100 Bars for this year - otherwise I may have missed it! Will go back for sure! Gold Star!!

This is a fun, laid-back bar in the Northside right across from La Raza Park. After its namesake, there are plenty of goat decor items (taxidermy and paintings) adorning the walls of this bar. Seating is super comfortable with plush black leather booths and bar chairs. If you are not sitting at the bar, be sure to go up to the bar to place your drink order. Food can be ordered using a QR code during certain hours. In addition to standard drinks, there are some specialty cocktails and shots available. For some added fun, there is a photo booth and Buck Hunter. Definitely a great place to hang out.

Solid English style bar in the highlands/sunnyside neighborhood! My husband and I were having a little date night and decided to stop by around 6 on a Sunday. They were decently busy since the Avs were playing. You would have thought they were slammed by how inattentive the bartender was. My husband waited a good 10 minutes for him to even acknowledge he was waiting at the bar. Thankfully we weren't in a big hurry. My husband got a beer on tap and I ordered a gimlet which wasn't great. Atmosphere was great, service and drink was lackluster so I'm not sure we'll be back.

"Stepping into The Scapegoat is like entering a refreshing oasis with a laid-back atmosphere. The decor, adorned with playful goats and elegant Tiffany pieces, colorful lights, creates a Alice in wonderland, yet sophisticated ambiance that sets this new establishment apart. From the moment I arrived, the attentive and friendly service catered to my every want. As I settled in, my first task was to sample their take on my favorite drink. To my surprise, it was crafted with perfection, complete with a cherry on top. Next was engaging with the diverse and intriguing individuals- This led to amusing conversations that left me eagerly anticipating my next visit for another great escape.

Embarrassed that I live down the street and JUST noticed this place being open. We stopped by because I stop by ALL bars with an adjective animal in the name, and although this won't qualify for people with that standard, I will allow this compound word with a very questionable adjective alluded to. ANYWAY, this place is simple and to the point, but the energy in here is great. The bar is classy, they have the recent version of Buck Hunter, and my only mild complaint might be that I wish they would have squeezed in a pool table. But, I digress. Kristen was great behind the bar. Place was empty when we came in, and about 20 people came in within ten minutes and she didn't even blink. Extremely efficient. We will definitely be making excuses to stop by here more. I know how to spell Kristen's name because when she asked the spelling, she said "I am a ten not a tin." I had to think about what my response would be with a K or a C. So, my response to you Kristen, after a few seconds of thought, is that "I am an Apostle and not a trend." I will work on a more definitive and permanent answer for our next drop-in. Plus, you can pretend like you are going to Ace for house stuff (see across the street), and come back a little happier to do the work. Definitely recommend, and see you there.

Amazing new bar has come to the Northside! Clean, fresh and great ambiance. Friendly Staff, check it out soon. They have non-alcoholic beer for your sober friends as well. Just a great bar, no kitchen, just a great meeting spot.

Kasey and Ryan are gems! Such a busy night around the holidays, and they took care of not only my entire party, but everyone else at the bar. Great job, guys. Drinks were tasty, too.

Great place! The bar is amazing with so much personality and charm. The staff is friendly and ready to please. If you haven't been there yet, located in Sunnyside, go! You won't be disappointed.
