I cannot stress enough how awesome this food truck is! Hubby and i were driving to a brew pub for a beer and assuming a food truck there. Fortunately for us, that food truck didn't show so we decided to stop here instead and we are so glad we did! Food is AMAZING! The owner was so kind and generous. Seriously people, GO GO GO!!

Be prepared to wait a little while while they're cooking your food. That said, I found it well worth it! I got the golden wings which came with jolof rice, french fries, and a small side salad. Everything was delicious, and surprisingly enough, the jolof rice was my favorite part of the whole dish. The wings were juicy and flavorful. And I liked that there was just enough salad and fries to make you feel like you were having a well rounded meal. I thought everything was worth the price, and will go back again.

This is a really good addition to the local food truck scene. There aren't a lot of West African restaurants around town, so they bring it to you instead. Plates tend to be fairly pricey, as you'll spend $18 or more in most cases, but you get a lot of food for the money. Many people end up getting two meals out of the full plates, which come with excellent jollof rice and salad, plus fries or plantains. They have a large menu but don't always have all the items in stock, so they might be better served to pare down a bit and just focus on the things they can get most often. They usually have chicken, which is excellent in whatever form, plus a famed burger, fish and lamb if they have it all, so if you try them a few times hopefully you can sample everything they offer. I'm a fan.

We passed Pikine grill's booth today during festivities downtown. They were playing jovial music, and had an open grill that drew you directly to their booth with the incredible aroma. We ordered the chicken brochette combo. This comes with Jollof rice and fries. We also got an order of the plantains. The chicken was severed on skewers with caramelized onions that were perfectly sweet and salty from the marinade, while the chicken was so juicy and flavorful. The Rice itself could have been a perfectly satisfying dish, but worked great with the chicken. The staff was friendly and obviously having fun cooking, and it really showed in this dish. I hope to come back soon and try the wings!

First time having West African food. Was NOT disappointed. Food was amazing. Lamb was phenomenal and the kabobs sauce was ridiculous. This food truck is no joke and can get 5 star quality taste out of this lil truck. Highly recommend.

The Pikine Grill Food Truck is outstanding! The Chicken Brochette Skewers were cooked perfectly with amazing flavor and marinade (ask for hot sauce). The fried plantains were the best I've ever had!!!! My coworkers enjoyed the lamb too. The owner was extremely nice and efficient, but could have used an assistant to take orders and money. I hope this truck returns to my office again!

We found this food truck at Punkin Chunkin a few weeks ago. We were only looking for a quick snack not a full meal, so we got an order of frites and an order of fried plantains. While waiting for our food I got a great history lesson about West Africa, from a friend of Chef David. Frites were perfect- just like the ones we loved when we lived in Belgium- hard to find them in the US. And then the plantains- wow! The spicy sauce with the sweetness of them was amazing! We loved the sauce so much I bought a container of it. I'm so happy we found this food truck!

This place is absolutely phenomenal, and a must-eat in Denver! I'm quite familiar with West African food since I've spent a good amount of time living over there. This place is truly authentic! Do not let the unknown scare you away from trying Chef David's food. I would highly suggest the lamb. It is perfectly seasoned and grilled, and will satisfy even the most traditionally American palate! If you've never had fried plantain, this is most certainly the place to try it! If you're feeling a desire to really taste West African food, the peanut stew (Maafe) is truly authentic and delicious! Finally, make sure you don't forget a drink...Bissap is a sweet hibiscus tea perfectly crafted to counterbalance the intense flavors you'll experience throughout your meal!I've never had anything bad here, and I know you won't either! Bon Appétit!
