The Matchbox

What a cool bar. One of their ads is a poster, "Missing Cheap Drinks in RiNo - last seen on Thursday nights at the Matchbox." I went on a Tuesday night and the drinks were still cheap! Their HH runs daily open to 8pm. Wells are $4 (unheard of anywhere in the area). They also have delicious infused shots such as Green Tea, Spicy Pickle, and Horchata for $9. Super friendly bartender with a laid back clientele. Will definitely come back.

Where to start... My friends and I are regulars here and for good reason. Everybody from the bartenders, front door/bouncers, to the other regulars are all really chill and fun people. The bartenders in particular are fast and efficient. Even on the weekends where every other bar will make you wait 30+ minutes for a drink, that was never the case here.The mixed drinks here are typically strong. I would be careful if you are not used to that. I have had a few friends from out of town that also are not used to the altitude and get very, very intoxicated.They also have Nintendo Switch days on Tuesday where an employee there brings in a few Switches and TVs for people to play a variety of games including Mario Kart, Super Smash Bros, etc.Check it out!

What a fun time at this place. Singing, dancing and a patio. Perfect time in Denver!

This is a very nice spot to grab a craft beer and more. The beer garden in the back has a lot of awesome mural art as well. These photos are from 2017, so maybe some of the art has changed, but I am sure that it is just as awesome now. Cheers!

Muy buen sitio para tomar unas copas! Calidad/Precio muy asequible por la zona en donde se encuentra! Lo mejor es el patio con mesas para sentarte con amigos! Tiene una venta muy grande en la entrada que da una sensación de espacio abierto muy buena! Me gusta empezar la noche en matchbox. Good place to get drinks with friends! Quality/Price really el reasonable for the location. My favorite part is the patio, really spacious and tables to enjoy with friends! The big window in the entrance gives a an open vibe really enjoyable. It is always my first bar to start the night!

Having passed The Matchbox by on multiple occasions while bar/brewery hoping in RiNo, I decided it was long over due I stop in to check it out. SPACE: I'm going to agree with Abby S. In that they are striving for a dim grunge kinda look/feel. There's exposed brick all around, some art on the walls for sale, tables that fold down against the walls when they're busier, and a chalkboard featuring the drink specials. Plus they have a roll up door in the front for warmer weather and a patio out back (to the side).STAFF: Decently attentive. They weren't terribly busy while I was there, but the area around the bar was crowded. I had to wait a few for my tab after ordering my second drink to close out.DRINKS: I sipped on a Moscow Mule ($7) and a Princess Yum Yum from Denver Beer Co ($4). I was impressed at the cost for my craft beer. $4 is actually a terrific deal! The mule wasn't anything impressive. The specials are mostly generic beers with a shot of liquor.PRICE: Unfortunately, I didn't see anything saying that the have a $10 minimum on credit card purchases, but they do. Lame. I hate minimums. Pricing is pretty cheap for beers and their specials (which appear to be mostly generic beer with a shot of liquor). It's painfully average (quality and cost) for mixed drinks.Eh, now that I've been to The Matchbox, I wouldn't go out of my way to come back - unless it's for one of their drink specials or a cold brew.

Might be my favorite spot on Larimer for a drink. A "garage door" that opens onto an outdoor patio, fantastic drink prices, laid back vibe, and cool exposed brick walls. What's not to like?

Came from out of town and was recommended here! Mid-20s crowd, chill vibes with good music !

They were very rude. Literally kicked black and mixed people out for no reason despite doing literally nothing. The only 2 black people got kicked out tonight and honestly I'm a pretty respected member of the community which is weird. This review is not a representation of my employer or company and my opinion. Honestly considering sueing for discrimination. Open to communication if you are open to that. Literally did nothing wrong. #Racist #Discrimination
