This is our GO TO spot for breakfast burritos in our area. ++ The burritos are massive, loaded with the all the fixin's (potatoes, eggs, cheese and green chili) with the ability to smother as well - and absolutely delicious!++ Staff is nice, friendly and fast!++ $5 a burrito, in this economy? HELL YES!When in doubt, head to Tamale Kitchen!

Go to the other location off Kipling/ Bowles if you can. This place is disappointing and treats their customers like ****. I tried calling 14 times over an hour to place a pick up order and was unsuccessful. I started at 6:28 and called them until 7:30 and they hung up on me every time. I decided to just go there, but I wish I hadn't. Walked in at 7:40 and all 3 employees threw daggers at me with their eyes. No one smiled no one greeted me, not even when I walked up to order. the girl taking orders just glared at me. I was the one who smiled. I was the one who said hi. And I got NOTHING back. It was so awkward, uncomfortable, and it made my anxiety skyrocket. The energy was so negative and off putting I wish I had the courage to just leave but I was like frozen. Still without being spoken to yet, i gave her my order. At the end she said is that all?? I'm a chump Becuz I tipped then $2. Why? Bcuz I was nervous, totally in my head, questioning myself, embarrassed, feeling guilty, like I did them dirty by supporting their business and i the moment thought I needed to 'make up for it'. Anyways, it didn't get better from there. I sat down and decided to call them while I waited to see what The deal was either the phone and sure enough. It rang and they looked at the phone, soemthjng was said and then it was silenced. LOL!! Can you imagine ignoring dozens of calls customers were making to place orders hours before your closed ??? Like how dumb is that and then to be totally unproffesional and rude when a customer comes in while you're still OPEN for 20min? Sorry you only had 20 min to make my order,but I tried calling at 6:28pm, tried another 13Times and y'all ignored me. Wasted my time trying to get hold of you when u coulda just picked up LOL. I woulda been there an hour earlier and you wouldn't have had to get so angry and treat me like **** and get this review. Not that you care, you made that clear you don't care about customers supporting your biz ( ensuring that y'all still have JOBS) when you ignore calls for hours and then mean mug anyone who walks in. And after all that', the food was crap. It literally took 2 min to make. When she said here ma'am, I blurted out wow that was fast. She DID smile in response. But It wasn't a nice smile it was like a hah yeah, so fast I we didn't even have to cook it and just gave you leftover stuff from the garbage ! Not saying that's what they actually did bcuz I didn't see them make my order didn't see them cook anything or bag it- literally happened so quick I was still calling then on myPhone, I had to put it in my Pocket for fear getting caught lol. But it was cold and soggy. I ordered Crispy relleno, beef egg roll, and a hard shell taco and I live 6 min away. In 6 min it turned soggy and lukewarm? Tell me that was made fresh I dare you. Oh well jokes on me. Thatll teach me a lesson for spending my money at their restaurant, for teying to call an hour and half before they closed to order takeout. I mean for an order that takes 2 min to throw together, I should've known to at least try calling it in a minimum of 2 hrs before Closing. That way, when they get done with my 2 min order,They still have 1hr 58min to ignore calls and make customers (who smile and tip them despite horrible service) feel worthless and angry for ever going there. Shame on me !!

Our neighbors have told us about this place since we first arrived in Colorado and wanted to know where local Mexican food was served. It has taken us a year. My husband ordered the breakfast burrito, I ordered 2 Chile Relleno's w/sauce. We sat and waited. The store gets a second star for cleanliness, and fast service. (Although I'd have rather waited for a higher quality of food) Our number was called my husband picked up our bag walked to our seat and we opened a bag full of sauce leaked all over the bag. We grabbed extra napkins, cleaned up the mess... and took our first bites. My husband took about three bites and said; ' I can't eat this...'I tried the rellenos, they were hard. No egg. Covered in so much sauce I could not taste the food. I lasted about four bites. $14 in the trash. But a good lesson learned. We will return to Federal and get what we are looking for.

Been here before. Stopped in for lunch 1/26 and ordered 2 enchiladas with rice and beans, green Chile smothered. Took it to go. If you take food to go in the bag, DONT MOVE OR TIP IT AT ALL. Chile spilled all over the inside of the bag. Sign of things to come. Ate half of the messy meal and stopped due to my lack of interest. Beans were hard, rice had been sitting out forever. Enchiladas were ok. Got home from work and took a small nap. Woke up to cold sweats and a terrible stomach ache. FOOD POSIONING! Was curled into a ball in bed all evening/ night. threw up all night (some blood) stuck to the toilet. Missed my fav bands concert that night I've waited to go to all week. Disappointed and should have known as I watched them make the meal. Dirty, greasy and messy. Save yourself the torture

We like their breakfast burritos and the green chili is good. Just be aware that if you leave a tip by credit card that the employees will not get it. Credit card tips go to the owners.

I used to come here regularly when I worked closer. Now it's more so a luxury to enjoy when I have time. I usually get a Chorizo Egg Potato Special Burrito. Special means chili inside. Smothered means the burrito is smothered in the chili. You can get the burrito without the tortilla if you're keto. The place is small, you can see exactly where it's being made. The service is always quick, friendly and the staff is very respectful.

This place is 3 min away from our house so we decided to try it one night for dinner. We ordered a few tacos, and tamales. They were all really great, both kinds of tamales were so good, all I do is crave their tamales all day now. Super fast to go service. Love this little spot!

I really don't like writing reviews like this but I could NOT let this slide, I came in today asking for a job application because they had a help wanted sign up for quite some time. Decided to ask for an application VERY NICELY and the cashier (young white guy) was absolutely so rude: I was already not having a good morning but he wasn't either apparently! I didn't even want to turn in my application at that point, when I dropped it off, still was having a shit attitude: when I asked for his name he proceeded to give me his managers name ? Hmmm shouldn't be so scared to give me your name if you were acting so rude! Go home if you don't like your job and don't take it out on me, someone who is actually looking for work. Don't know if this was a race thing or not. You'd figure you'd want some actual Mexicans working in your white washed restaurant

Typically this one is good. However last time I visited a legitimate child maybe 12 years old was at the cash register. Couldn't get my order right had to tell him about 20 times what I wanted and even argued with me about how I was paying. The food ended up being made wrong had to have it fixed and it seemed like they purposely gave me the extremely hot green chile. It was inedible how hot the green chile was and my family can handle spice. Absolutely ridiculous

I have been coming here for 15 years and for the entire time they have been Inconsiderate. I'm over it. Who opens at 9am every and sells breakfast burritos? What about ANYONE on earth that works?? Today was the last straw. Paid and waited for 2 burritos, got my order and opened it when home to find 1 burrito and that's it. Called to talk about it and sat with the phone ringing for 2 minutes before it cut off and hung up on me. Trash mfs
