Tafolino's Mexican Restaurant

I came here to review this place and was surprised to see the low rating. We tried this place for the first time over the weekend, and might have a new favorite family Mexican spot. Low key restaurant with plentiful options for meat eaters and vegetarians alike. We especially liked the homemade chips we received upon sitting down. I settled for the vegetarian burrito, which was tasty and large enough for two servings. My mom said the chicken in the fajitas was the best she's ever had, and my dad very much enjoyed the green chile on his stuffed sopaipilla. Service was alright, a little slow for the server to come visit us but the food was delivered quickly. The restaurant wasn't too loud like other Mexican restaurants, and it was clean. We would definitely come back here again.

Definitely glad I didn't go with the Yelp average yesterday- my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our lunch at Tafolino's. First of all, the staff were great- they all worked together to ensure a good experience for customers. The restaurant (including bathroom) was clean. It's not fancy, but who cares?!?We split the small chicken fajitas and the crispy smothered rellanos. Both were outstanding and we left stuffed. The green chile was very good, and the rellanos had just the right amount of cheese. The rice was well made, and the chicken was tend and juicy. We'll definitely be back!

Classic Mexican-American place with a distinctive Colorado flair. (I.e. You can get anything smothered in green chili.)All the food was solid, starting from the fresh chips and homemade salsa. The salsa had a nice little kick, but not too much.When we asked for another salsa so everyone at our large table could reach it, the server went above and beyond and brought us two more salsas and another basket of chips. Service seemed slowed down by a weird weekday lunch slam, but it was efficient and attentive otherwise.Standouts were the steak ranchero plate and the camerones con tocino (smoky bacon-wrapped shrimp). Chile relenos were okay. It's possible I just don't like chile relenos as much as I used to.The green chili is excellent. Nicely spicy. In future visits, I might get the green chili on the side so I can taste everything else better. That said, I almost licked the plate. So I'm not really having regrets.Ambiance is just a little nicer than what you would expect for a suburban strip mall restaurant. Not fancy, but pleasantly decorated and clean. Lots of TVs, but they weren't blasting, so it was easy to ignore them.

The hubs and I drive by here all the time and finally on a whim, stopped in. The chips and salsa were our favorite part but that's an important part! The chips had a dusting of chili powder I believe on them and we plowed through the basket. The hubs always orders chicken enchiladas at any new for us Mexican restaurant. I opted for bean enchiladas with vegetarian green and red chili. The food arrived quickly. Of the two sauces, the red was better. The green chili was actually orange; not sure what it was but both did not taste like they were made in house. Solid food though. Same for the chicken enchiladas. His rice was a little crunchy but had good overall flavor. Service was fast and friendly and the whole meal was under $40.

Amazing, flavorful food for decent price. Servers were laid back and didn't check in too frequently (a bonus in my opinion). Just a warning - the food will definitely give ya more bubble gut than you might expect. I know it comes with the territory, but omg - I gassy for the next 12 hrs after eating here. Not just me either, the whole crew. Hopefully it was just an off day.

Lunch Review only. Superb, tasty Mexican food. The Combo Especial with a burrito and green chili, a tostado, enchilada and beef taco were to die for. Simply delicious and comforting. The carne asada tacos that my wife had were also exceptional. To start, the chips are fresh, crispy and stand up to the really tasty salsa. Exceptionally large glass of ice tea. Wait staff was attentive, shuffling from table to table. On a weekday for lunch the place was packed, and I can see why. This is really good food, at a reasonable price that hits all the right notes, when you are looking for a really good Mexican meal. I'll be back for dinner -- Can't wait to try on of what appear to be a very well made margarita.

One of my favorite go-to's for good Mexican food in Colorado. Tasty, consistent, and good portions. Always on my short list of good restaurants.

Great food and service.....too bad they charge a 3% property fee. What's next hiring fee, operations fee, I came to work today fee?

This is your classic low end Mexican slop served in a dingy looking strip mall.When you get your plate you are not going to know what they served

We love this place their tacos are the best I've ever had. The chimichanga is amazing also. Green chili is amazing. The chips and salsa is great. The enchiladas are also great. I have not tried anything that I didn't love. My hub and I share the taco plate most of the time and it is plenty for us with a side of beans and rice. Must try it. Hopefully you will love it too.
