A speakeasy inside a cocktail bar - I'm absolutely going! Heard through a birdie that they have cherry blossom theme going on and that they open just for 2 months so ofcourse we wanted to see what this place is all about! This is an intimate speakeasy with limited seating so we did have to wait to get a table for 4 people. They had a full on cherry blossom theme - from the ambience, drinks to the bar snacks! Drinks were delicious and I actually enjoyed the spicy popcorn they had ( I am not a popcorn fan typically). Also, one of our friends is passionate about Japanese whiskey which he found here. Hope they come up with more themes in the future!

Speakeasy in the Ramble Hotel, upstairs from the lobby. Same owners as Death & Co. The name comes from the cross streets of their east village location, and it feels much more like that bar. Dimly lit, quiet, large dark furniture. The bar manager, Dave, came from the east village location. Intentional drinks, really crafted well. Kind service, gave us some champagne for a toast as we were there on my husbands birthday. You can order form their menu which changes regularly, or off menu.

Tucked away from the noise and energy below, the upstairs bar of Death and Company offers a luxurious reservations only experience. Unique menu, often a complimentary glass of sherry or creative bite, and then bartenders ready to invent based on your palate and preferences, or serve up their own creations. Dark, sexy vibe for a date or a secluded way to discuss a sensitive business deal while feeling a bit film noir. Treat yourself!

Finally added Suite 6A to my Denver speakeasy bucket list. The hours can make it difficult to get into....and had honestly forgot about it after trying a couple of times to secure a spot. We happened into dinner on a Thursday at Super Mega Bien and wandered into The Ramble for a late nite, after dinner drink...and it hit me...why not try to secure a spot on the fly. Success!! We were escorted from all the general bar dwellers to the upstairs Suite 6A. Sara met us at the table and gave us the details. The bar tender gave us a run down and made some suggestions. The drinks were strong and quite delish. It was not nearly as full as I would have suspected....but still a nice diversion from the regular bar scene on the first floor. Can't wait to go back.

The priority for a cocktail bar is excellent cocktails. Suite 6A's cocktails are in fact excellent. Well-balanced, beautifully presented by a knowledgeable team of bartenders. But we didn't love the ambiance. It was chilly inside (on a Saturday night?), it was sparse (bare actually), and the ambient noise was from the D&Co crowd downstairs. No music that we could hear. That made this place feel more like a pop-up bar. One is escorted up the stairs to the bar by a Suite 6A staff member who explains the "all about you" philosophy of the bar. By the time you get to the top you expect the bartender to know your name and your liquor preferences :-) Our bartender was A-OK. Helpful in explaining ingredients and going off menu for one of us. Loved the attention to presentation (ice pellets, hand cut ice for some drinks, etc.). At $16 per drink, it better be that way. One major oversight: our water was not refilled except by request. Some glasses sat empty for some time. Keeping cocktail drinkers hydrated should be high on the "it's all about you" training. Overall, we didn't feel it was that special, but it was A-OK. B&GC in the Halcyon has more of an experience to go with excellent cocktails. To live up to the story told upon arrival, a visit to Suite 6A needs to be more experiential.

I came here in December for my birthday - my boyfriend made a reservation a month out since this spot had just opened and has minimal seating. After you are escorted upstairs from Death & Co, the bartenders within seat you. It's dark and dimly lit and quiet and swanky. The bartenders explained their experience (they have a LOT of cocktails in their arsenal) - we tried cocktails off their menu presented then went off menu and had them use their creativity to craft something. While I can't remember what the cocktails were, they were delicious and well-done. We were warned that since there is only one, maybe two bartenders/servers ever upstairs the service can be slow. While they were attentive when there, they were slow - I recall our final round took over 20 minutes (probably closer to 30 after waiting for the server to come by, order, and then craft our drinks). The small plates were small, though we each had one (beef tartare for my boyfriend and a Gruyere cheese puff for me). Flavorful but not sure worth the price. Overall, delicious cocktails!
