State House 38

I recently ordered takeout from State House Restaurant in Commerce City, and overall, it was a mixed experience. The Chicken fried chicken was a HUGE disappointment--it was small (the same size as the chicken sandwich), burnt, and definitely not worth the $18 price tag. The sausage gravy that came with it was also extremely bland, which didn't help.The Nashville chicken sandwich had potential, but the breading was poorly done, making it less enjoyable than expected. On the other hand, the Cheeseburger was nicely cooked, and the Cajun Wings were the highlight of the meal--perfectly prepared and full of flavor! The side salad was fresh, and I really enjoyed the spicy blue cheese dressing. The fries and tots were also a nice touch to an otherwise mediocre meal.As for the restaurant itself, the inside was very clean, and the manager was extremely friendly, which I appreciated. However, the front doors were surprisingly heavy, making it awkward to get in and out--definitely something to keep in mind if you're carrying a big takeout order.Overall, it was a hit-or-miss experience. Some dishes were great, while others fell flat, especially given the price. I'd consider giving them another try, but with different menu choices.

Stopped by here for the second time in two years. This place was disappointing both times I have been here. I wish it was good because it's in my neighborhood, however it's nothing to write home about. I would describe most of the food as being bland. Both Salad dressing tasted strange. I was very happy with the size of salads, I just wish the items in the salad had more flavor. The waitress was attentive and the food came out fast. We started with spinach artichoke dip, a little watery and left something to be desired 5.5/10. We also shared crispy shrimp, a little dull with raw cabbage 5/10. For entrees we had a buffalo chicken salad 6.5/10 and a Cobb salad 5/10. Like I had described earlier, lots of good things in the salad, except flavor. It felt like the items in the salad were made days in advance and they had been refrigerated a week prior. We also had a fish and chips, which was alright, the fish was a 7/10, the fries 3/10 and the Cole slaw was bland, 3/10. Finished the meal off with a piece of carrot cake, this was decent, frosting was a little sweet 6/10. All in all I will probably come back here at some point, however I am in no rush.

Service was great! Refills were on the money, but not enough ice.Skillet queso was solid definitely recommend.Honey mustard chicken sandwich was good a little too much sauce.Chicken fried steak was not good (avoid).Wings were big with plenty of meat & great flavor options.

The food was great. Nice size portions. The service was great as well. We got sat down after a 1 minute wait. Me and my kids went on a Sunday for lunch. Definitely will go back had tons of tv with sports on so BF will enjoy. Over great atmosphere and chill. Definitely sports bar worth coming back

Stopped in for lunch today and ordered the green chili soup and hot wings. SUPER DELICIOUS The service by BEKAH was excellent and she was super efficient and had a beautiful smile. The ambiance inside super nice.Highly recommend

Dined at State House 38 tonight and after seeing some of the reviews I'm not going to lie I was wondering if we should turn around. I'm glad we didn't we enjoyed our meal. We had Johanna as our waitress and she was a boss. She was able to handle all the people at the bar plus our tables with the greatest of ease. Kudos Johanna. We started out with the bang bang shrimp which were good. The sauce was sweet and spicy and there was plenty of it. I got the Buffalo chicken wrap and it was really good. Plenty of buffalo sauce and the dressing that was with it added to the wrap well. My husband got the cheesesteak and had plenty of cheese and would definitely order it again. If we lived closer I would have had a few beers on their outdoor patio.

This place is great! Cozy atmosphere, comforting menu and great food. The hostess, bartender and manager are all incredibly nice! A must visit and get the carrot cake!

Classy place, nice ambiance. The food and service was top-notch! My husband and I had a great dinner date here.

Was a little worried after reading reviews, but we stayed at Airbnb in Commerce City and had zero energy after a long day of driving. So we gave it a shot...And I'm so glad we did! Service was prompt and attentive, environment is casual and not too loud, menu is extensive enough for everyone to pick something, price was reasonable. I got beef stroganoff and husband had chicken fried steak. It was yummy and portions are large. They have kids menu for $6 (nothing special there but was happy I could feed my 2 kids for $6 each) I had a really good time and good experience there, highly recommend. Thank you!

This place is awesome totally recommend it Last time we were here we got some burgers and both come out charred after finding this out we called our waitress who sent over the manager to talk to us and apologized for the situation and was able to send over new fresh food Totally made everything better by offering to give us free drinks along with the food I would say it's one of my favorite places near my place and since we haven't experienced any problems with our order we are totally coming back.
