Came here with my best friend. This is such a cute place in boulder. They have great food the vibes are great and the service is amazing.One important thing to know they are a cash and check only establishment so be prepared for that. They have great food and awesome specials. We had the Barria tacos that were on the specials menu and they were delicious. You can go wrong coming here. The beers they had were also delicious. They allow you try a small sample of 2 of them if you can decide which was nice. Definitely will be back!

This place only takes cash. It's 2025. Service, food and beer all 5 stars but apparently owner is so cheap and profit driven he wont pay 1.9% for customers fees they have to walk to ATMs or pay his ATM to eat here. Evolve...do it for your team so they can get 5 stars (or you have some other incentives to take only cash).

Some things are guaranteed in life.....Death, taxes and that Mountain Sun and the family of restaurants will be cash only.No qualms about it, just be prepared. Luckily there is a Chase Bank behind this location for your cash needs. I recently have come to this location after some hikes and it's the perfect place to get your post workout grub and drink on!This past time we went I was stoked to see that it was Stout Month and their menu lives up to the name. Just enough beers to make it interesting without being overwhelming. They even had a few meals with stout in it as well. I got the Girl Scout Cookie Stout and it was thin mint perfection!The food is awesome here however my only gripe is when it comes to the spuds. Their default side is potato chips...meh....you can pay extra for fries but they aren't anything award winning but they do the trick. Their burgers are one of my go to meals and I recently tried their cauliflower wings and that may be my new favorite there. Only complaint there is they put the sauce on the side vs tossed. Little knits I realize but with a few minor tweaks this could be one of my fave establishments in Boulder!

We went here tonight because their sister restaurant on the lower level was closed for a private event tonight and we did not know until we arrived. So up the flight of stairs we went, ready to eat. I knew it had been about a decade since I had been here and hoped that time had improved them. We stopped going when Under the Sun opened and much more suited us.Southern Sun did a really good job tonight. We ate outside as there was room on the large patio and not hot or cold, but a little bit breezy. The servers were outstanding and well covered the patio. I had a burger I had in the past, the Basil Blue Cheese. I loved the flavor combination back then but so many times at the end, the prep was really lacking. Tonight the roll was fresh, the basil leaf was fresh, the meat was fresh, beautiful fresh lettuce and tomato slices. The chips were nicely house made and lightly seasoned. I don't drink beer and I don't like their raspberry iced tea but cool enough outside to have nice cup/pot of Earl Grey. Just perfect. My husband had his local favorite Anna Purna Amber of the Mountain Sun's Brewery and his regular cheeseburger and fries. We hit the night's special so got a bit of a bargain.We will be including this place again, when we want to be in the area, where parking is free and easy. And the menu is different enough from Under the Sun that it won't get boring and we can do both locations going forward.My other annoyance with the group had been the policy of not taking credit cards. They discovered during Covid they really had to adjust that policy. They have, but with a service fee so at least they no longer trap you into using an ATM to pay. I don't find their pricing of comparative menu items any different than places that have always taken credit cards so I really still don't understand their long time reticence. But we do pay cash and have become more adapted to remember after so many years with this group. And now new arrivals are not embarrassed if they don't have cash with them. That is more customer friendly.

Went here on 8/11/23. First time to any of these brewpubs. (They are around Denver, Boulder and Longmont). Very fun atmosphere. They have pizzas, burgers, sandwiches, salads and entrees. Good selection of food. Good selection of beer. Lots of IPAs but good variety from light to dark. We tried the Kolsch and Sangria Sour. Pretty good. For food we tried the Hummus Platter, Shrimp and Grits and Crispy Chicken Sandwich. Everything was great! The staff was awesome. We didn't have just one server. Seems like all of the staff is working together to take care of all the tables. (Went to another restaurant recently that tried that concept, it did not work). They do prefer cash or check. They do take credit card but it is a 4% add on to your check. Will definitely be back. Cheers!

Positives:-I really liked my quesadilla. -I shared a salad with my husband, it was good. The ingredients were fresh and there were lots of toppings that added flavor.-Best thing about this restaurant was the ambience. It was decorated very cute inside with lots of colors and paints on the walls. They have plants hanging throughout the inside.Negatives:-We had a group of four people and they could not split a check for us. I feel like this should not be hard to just write them down two pieces of paper. The employee said that the only way we could is if we got a manager involved and that it would take a while. No thanks, we will just figure it out ourselves.-Service in general was slow.-No consistency of who our server was throughout the meal.-To pay you only could do cash or check. They did not accept cards of any form. I have never seen that before at a sit down restaurant. -The other couple that we went with were not particularly fond of their food.-My margarita was okay. -Also the AC was not working well. I thought I was having heat flashes.Definitely a one and done place.

Southern Suns cheese fries are worth the visit alone!! Service is usually pretty good, and they're almost always busy. Great location. The outdoor seating is primo on a nice summer day, but the inside of the restaurant is big with lots of tables. I crave the sweet chili wings on a regular basis. Good burgers, lots of beers on tap. Can't beat southern sun!

Excellent spot in south Boulder - especially their house made fries & enormous Thai chili wings - burgers & sandwiches solid & nice beer selection.

The food has always been garbage, but the reason for one star is something else. Last time I was there I was vaping the entire time and eventually my friend and I got escorted out. That was my fault. The issue is _when_ they decided to escort us out: they let me vape and kicked us out after receiving their nice tip. You adorable scumbags, you.

$7 if you want two pieces of bacon and four thin pieces of avocado on your average as burger. Then you have to hit the ATM with a $2/plus your bank charge to wait another 15-20 minutes to pay. Ugh cringe
