Smokin' Oak Wood-Fired Pizza and Taproom

Summary for both of our pizzas: burnt, chewy and stale crust; tasteless cheese; and almost nonexistent and tasteless sauce. I had to finish hers because she couldn't stomach anymore of it, and I was hungry, craving pizza and chose this place. She got jalapeños and mushrooms. I don't know how you make jalapeños have no spicyness whatsoever, and barely any flavor, but they've figured it out here. The mushrooms were the only thing I could taste on her pizza, and it's probably only because I generally dislike them.Mine had three meats and I couldn't taste any of them. I can't recall not being able to taste pepperoni on a pizza before. Maybe these toppings do have limited flavor, but they are so few and thinly sliced that you can't taste them because they're overpowered by the (burnt) crust? I was really looking forward to pizza, so this was a big disappointment. And why are water cups available, but no fountain / tap water? I guess if you want anything to drink you have to pay for it.

We ordered a pizza to go as we were staying at the Hyatt across the street. I cannot say anything about the ambiance or service, but the pizza was bland and tasteless.

This place used to be great! What happened? Was told to come in 20 mins for my pizza, I showed up in 15, was ignored for 10 mins. Once I finally got my pizza was cold. This place really used to be so good and loved coming here with family, but Mod Pizza seems to be the obvious alternative at this point. Save the trip and the $

The ambiance was pretty chill. They were super busy. I ordered the Italian stallion with pepperoni. The pizza was pretty good; the crust had the perfect texture. The apple pie was about the same as Popeyes without the cinnamon, and it was baked vs fried. They had ran out of several ingredients, as well as the cream soda for the fountain drinks. It took quite a while to get my pizza though. Yep, they were mad slow. Nonetheless, the pizza tasted fantabulous.

There's lots of fast fired wood oven pizza places these days, and Smokin' Oak is nearby so I've given it a couple tries. It's in a lot with a Starbucks and dentist, parking isn't a problem. Modern and clean inside with a TV for sports and a nice selection of craft beers, they even have a sour or two for fans. I'm simple and just like Margherita pizzas, which I've found to be inconsistent here. I've called ahead at dinner time for pickup, and also popped in during lunch. On my first afternoon visit, they seemed to be understaffed and took my order as well as 3 or 4 more behind me before they started making any pies. Then somehow the people that ordered after me got theirs first while mine was last to come out. It was a little burnt in some spots and paper thin as well. Disappointing for a 20+ minute wait for a simple pizza. They were a little more efficient the next time I visited, and while their pizza certainly isn't bad, it's just not my thing. I prefer Boss Lady's big NY style just west of the mall. Smokin' Oak only has a couple salad choices on the menu, and the ingredients leave a lot to be desired. Unless they can get better staffing during peak lunch times, pep up their service, and find some more consistency with the pizzas, I'll be on hold.

Veggie wood fired pizza was excellent and I added a half salad. The salad was crisp and tasty. I highly recommend going to this place. The service was friendly and inviting as well as fast. The neat thing was the beer by the ounce. You could try multiple beers by pouring by the ounce. The Key-lime Coconut was just my type of sour beer and the orange vanilla was excellent as well. They also had coors and two wines on the tap bar. The ambiance was a bit cafeteria but still had a cool vibe.

I can't exactly tell why but this place is my favorite/go-to pizza place around the Broomfield/Superior area.Wood-fired pizzas are really yummy.Service is great.Ambience is casual and not unique, but great nevertheless.

Best pizza place in town! Workers are always so nice. The manager of the store is very welcoming and always engages in conversation!

They got my order wrong for carry out. Argued with me that I ordered incorrectly - not them. Manager don't do anything except put in a request to refund the meal. Don't take responsibility for the wrong order. I used to come in here all the time to support local business but THE MANAGER changed my mind. Never again. Badly run business. Oh I offered to bring the food back and they declined.
