Such a cute saloon that's literally tucked in the side of the canyon in Indian Hills! So, I used to love the Sit N Bull, but they've really gone down hill over the past year or so.They have a covered/enclosed patio that can be opened up on warmer days, but the amount of cigarette smoke is just god awful with zero ventilation even on a windy day. Inside, the bar itself is in a 100+ year old building that maybe hasn't been updated since opening. Parking is easy until the pull off spot is full, but luckily the place is tiny so it likely wouldn't fill up anyway. What's good? They have live music more days than not, which is a huge plus.. and they have a pool table & dart board too. It's a dive bar with live music, how could you go wrong?!What's not so good? The drinks are expensive (especially for a short pour too) and the food is just terrible. How can you screw up nachos & tots? Well, they did.. the salsa is like tomato paste (worse than Pace) and the queso is questionable at best. The tots had a pound of salt on them. Note, I used to love their green chili & queso tots, and the nachos, and the burgers, but something has changed with their kitchen & it's definitely frozen reheated food with zero oversight or care. The huge dirty fish tank upstairs where the pool table is either leaking or the building is somewhere, and the carpeted floor is soaked & growing mold... it's clearly not a new issue but they just don't do anything about it. Gross. The servers/bartenders really don't seem to care about the place, and it just really shows. Quite unfortunate, but I hope they rebound soon.. bc it has potential to turn it around & be a great mountain dive bar.

This place is the bomb... Exactly as it is... A little grungy... A little smoky... If you don't like it... Go back to the city.

I recommend the Sit N Bull for exactly what it is, a great stop on a bike ride up the mountain, with friendly service and cold drinks. Gretchen brings the sparkle, what more can I say? We've tried to eat there a few times and they were short on help or we got there early or late, so I can't comment on the food much, but it is a staple if you are in the area. Have a seat, get a cold drink, be patient and be nice! You just might meet some great people and have interesting conversation. (the signs are fun too).

My friend and I stopped in on motorcycles today for a bite and a beer. I've always enjoyed "mountain" atmosphere here. The waitress, Stephy, could not have been more bubbly and accommodating if she tried. She was warm, helpful, fast and downright flirty. She is absolutely amazing and a reason to stop in for lunch all all by herself. The food came out fast, hot and tasty. Stephy was bringing refills before our glasses were empty so we didn't even have to ask. What a wonderful and warm place this is. I even enjoyed the old and very friendly dog that walked around and greeted everyone. This place is definitely worth stopping in and checking out. The pulled pork is off the hook. Yummmm.

Saddle up because this is an experience. And not a great one. If you have an IQ greater than 55, I wouldn't recommend. 1.) We ordered nachos and they were wrong 2.) Waitresses had 72 drinks before noon3.) They stepped on our dog 4.) They charged us for 2 beers we didn't get (most likely drank by the waitresses) 5.) They lost our credit card we tried to pay with6.) I shit my pants after eating there7.) They won't let you move the tables (probably because if we moved them those drunk asses wouldn't know where they went) Bottom line... don't go there. 0/10. Had to select 1 star but no. I would do a zero.

Great pizza. Cold suds. Have been going here many years. It's an institution in our area. Even our Governor has dined here, and he's a millionaire.

Worth stopping by after a hike for a beer! Darts, pool and a nice patio with the view of a little waterfall. They have life music every weekend. The upstairs is very cozy. Seems like a stop for bikers but we had fun post hike. Definitely a "dive bar" vibe.

If I could give a negative rating I would. Our server was drunk, incompetent and rude. My dad had a burger and thought he was eating the soul of a shoe. We got charged for food We did not receive. I don't usually leave a review, but hoping I can save someone from ruining their day by going to this hole. This is NO hidden gem!
