Rooster's Grille & Pizzaria

My dad and his Canadian friend stopped in for lunch today! They said the food and service from Stephanie were great but the best part was after they left! The Canadian friend left his wallet in the booth. Stephanie hunted him down through his home in Canada and eventually was able to connect with him in COS. He so appreciated Stephanie's honesty and persistence to help him today!

Sweet time to go get an amazing pizza! We went into Rooster's with our family which was a larger crowd and one of the kiddos with us is never satisfied and was he even loved every bite of his pizza. Tracey was especially helpful and kind to our family and it was the night before Thanksgiving when probably no k e wants to be at work. She was so joyful and really went out of her way. Thank you for the great food and hospitality!

Stopped here on a long road trip. Good comfort food! BLT was simple, but bacon was cooked perfectly. Great service! Thanks!

They are doing themselves a disservice using Q code menu only!!! Us older people want a menu. Food is always good. Service depends on the day. Popular local place. Coke products and full bar. Small tight restrooms.

After hours of walking through the Paint Mines, we stopped into town to grab a bite to eat. They had several beers on tap (a tall Blue Moon was like $5) and the bartender/server was great. She answered all our questions and stopped by a few times to check on us. The food came out pretty quickly as well.We got the keg taters appetizer (large tots with a ton of stuff inside, I want to say bacon, cheese...) and tried them with several sauces (ranch, jalapeño ranch, and a spicy orange-colored mayo), all of which were really good. My favorite was the spicy mayo, which I thought was a bit sweet. I tried the pulled pork, which had slaw on it. It came with a side of macaroni salad/bacon/cheese. The sandwich was well-stuffed and was pretty good, but I would try this spicy beef wrap that they had if I am ever in town again. My wife tried the chicken wrap with a parmesan garlic sauce. She felt it was about average fare for the wrap. She got onion rings on the side and would highly recommend them ("crispy and delicious" was the feedback). We tried them in all the sauces we had and they went well with each one.The place had a good feel to it also and it felt like it was a local favorite.

Stopped in for a late lunch. Place was was dead at that time which was fine by me as we were pretty hungry. We ordered our food but had second thoughts as we were battling the flies that were abundant inside. I get it, it's a problem since they come in the front door as soon as it's open but I don't expect to see dead flies on the ledges and shelves inside the restaurant! It really took away my appetite as the shelf at our table had several carcasses with a layer of dust. So you mean to tell me no one can wipe that off? I ordered a patty melt with a burger that was so DRY! My husband's French dip sandwich was tasteless and only had a couple of bites before he just ate the fries and called it good. The service was fine but no one asked how the food was. I paid for the food merely because we had some of the fries. Between the flies and the poor food we left soon after.

Really disappointed. I have been here a few times before. Usually decent food at a good price. Not many options in Calhan, CO.I usually love a French Dip ~ solid & predictable.The meat was burned ~ I would have sent it back, but when I showed the waitress she just shrugged her shoulders. It was so burned I did not eat it.

We love Roosters. Location is convenient for us who live out east, food is always delicious, service is usually not bad, music is usually good obnoxious once in a while. Unfortunately have to take away a star because it has gotten so expensive. We used to go in once a week but now can't afford more than about once a month.We also miss our breakfast place that used to be here. If Roosters started doing breakfast at a decent price we'd come in more often.

No matter how many times I order a burger medium rare and have mentioned on multiple occasions that my burger isn't made to order, nothing changes. I'm paying a lot of money to order food that isn't what I ordered and it's annoying. This is the last time I order from 1/2 establishments here in Calhan. It's frustrating when you're looking forward to your food and it's subpar!

Charming spot, tasty dishes. Unfortunately, a lengthy wait for the meals. I think we sat for an hour waiting. It looked like they might have been understaffed that day. Again, the dishes saved the day. Get the onion rings for sure.
