Being from Southern California it's undeniable the cravings I get for El Pollo Loco...you know just some flame grilled chicken, some beans and salsa. That is the way to my heart. As you know that chain has not made its way out to Colorado (yet) but I have been craving that like crazy. I have driven past a few of the Rico pollo locations and thought hey maybe that will be an option to step in when my flame grilled chicken craving hits so I finally popped into the the Grant street location to check it out! I have to say I was a fan. I got a half chicken for $15.99 and that came with beans and rice, two salsas, 8 tortillas, green onion and jalapeños. Honestly I thought this was a great value. I got two meals out of it and even shared a bit with my husband (not because I'm greedy but because he just had an endoscopy so he can't eat a ton of solid foods lol, he couldn't resist the chicken though) I thought the chicken was good and flavorful, beans of course were wonderful, rice I personally don't care about in any situation but I guess it was nice to have and their salsas were good. The green being more mild but super flavorful and the red having a bit more of a kick. Honestly this is going to be a regular spot for me, not just this location but the chain in general. You just can't beat Chicken and beans with salsa, it will forever be one of my favorite things. Definitely check them out if you want some bomb chicken.

Second time here, the food was very good, the sides of beans and rice were cooked perfectly and seasoned well. I ordered a whole chicken but I don't think it was all there. Looked like they hacked it apart with an axe. I would prefer you cut the chicken in half and let me cut it myself, that way I know what I just ate. Only thing I recognized was two legs. Charred green onion made it Mexican chicken along with many sauce options and some pico de gallo. I'll come back.

It's says they close at 9pm, but they never want to attend anyone after 8:30, Unfortunately. They should just change their closing time at 8:30pm

Introduction: Located in a simple strip mall surrounded by other restaurants and businesses. I had went to their location in Lakewood off Sheridan and loved it, since moving from that area a couple years ago I had not had it since. So i after hitting back and abs at the gym i decided to satisfy my cravings. Parking 2/5 : At first glance there seems to be ample parking but half of it belongs to the wells fargo bank next door, the other half is shared by the rest of the shops in the strip mall. Luckily many customers take their orders to go or it could become a problem if location is busy. Service 1/5: Not particular friendly, especially if you do not speak Spanish. I am fluent in Spanish and still was frowned upon due to my slight american accent. I also asked the lady for double beans instead of rice and beans and she said okay. When i got home I had rice, i was pretty ticked off and threw the rice away.Food 2/5: Nowhere as good as the Lakewood location. For 9$ they give you a super small serving of rice and beans and a couple small pieces of chicken, some under cooked onions and a jalapeno which was also not grilled properly. Included are some salsas and tortillas which i did not eat. The salsa was watery and lacked any flavor, the pickled onions were super salty instead of tangy. Overall I was hungry so i ate it all, and still had some ribs and coleslaw afterwards because it was not filling enough. The chicken and beans were good but nothing special, everything else was sub par. I would avoid this place if in the area as their are so many options. I think Chipotle and Qdoba have better tasting grilled chicken and much more options, service and better pricing per portion.

Apparently this place only sells chicken until 7:45 and not 9:00 pm like they are supposed to. If your hours say you're open till 9 you should be cooking until 9! How does a chicken spot "run out" of chicken? Makes zero sense. The Chinese lady that works the counter is super rude and very unprofessional!!

Bill for 8.99 12 wings4 flautas 6.99 side of beans and rice 2.29 each total 29.25. Chicken flautas had about a tablespoon of dry chicken, they are no longer flautas, they are skinny rolled tacos.. no flavor.. the chicken wings were really pigeon sized wings. When I went in music was blaring they used to be great..

So I have gone here a few times and mind you my Spanish is limited. So I walk in at 8:12 and they close at 9:00 pm. I order a whole chicken meal. The gal tells me that they are out of chicken. As I'm waiting out in my car I see another customer walk in and what do you know??? He's literally ordering chicken. I walk in there n tell the girl I thought you were out of chicken? A gentleman cooking on the grill tells me it'll be 30 min I said that's fine but she didn't tell me that. Is it because I didn't speak Spanish that you choose who you want to sell to? If you close at 9:00... you stay open until 9!!! If not close your doors at 8!!!! So after I got my food I said " Thank you" well there was an older lady that gave me dirtiest looks and wouldn't acknowledge me, she was really pissed because they got caught in a lie I guess! I left laughing at her!!! They should be better with customers!!! I'll never take my money to this place again!#RUDEASSWOMEN!!!!

Had been a few years since last time was in here, was tired of same fat food taste amd wanted something closer to home meal, fresh and affordable. This place meets all those reqs, ill start with the pros. The service is quick and ,chicken juicy and tasty, as well as the salsas and rice and beans. I ordered a half chicken as was quite hungry. For family its hard to beat with the half and whole chicken combos at 12.95 and 21.95...A fe of the things that could improve and make it a 5 start rating? The cashiers could be a tad friendlier and if there are no napkins available on table at least have someone go around wiping tables. The tables are not bad and being that its not a full service restaurant customers have big part in making sure they throw their trash away and leave an adequate clean table. I noticed a few customers ask for napkins so they could clean table crumbs etc. I was too hungry to take a pic prior to eating but at least took one of beans and rice.
