Rico Pollo 2

This was our go-to place when we lived on the west side of town going to the Sheridan or Federal location. This is still one of my favorite spots for rotisserie chicken. We usually get the whole chicken (entero) that comes with rice and beans, grilled peppers and green onions, and salsas and tortillas. I don't think you could beat the price when you get amazing, juicy chicken cut up and ready to be eaten with the condiments and sides. The only reason this place doesn't get 5 stars is because there is sometimes a little inconsistency but I'd say, for the most part, this chicken comes straight off the grill and handed to me to take home to enjoy with the family. It looks like poor reviews are from many years ago but I can say that each time I go, there are at least a half dozen people waiting to get their orders (indoor dining is closed at the time of this review).

This is truthfully the most disgusting pollo asada I have ever ate / bought. It's clearly undercooked. Out of all the options Denver offers, this place is one that will never be on my to go list! First and last time.

Ordered the Quarter Chicken dinner (dark meat). While the chicken was decent, the pieces were tiny as hell and must have been sitting for a while. The rice was dry and the beans were essentially a bean soup. A spoon was necessary to eat them. Needless to say, I will not be a returning customer. I had stopped by La Costera on Montview & Emporia but they were closed. I searched on Yelp & found this place. Will not recommend. Next time, I will wait until La Costera opens up.

Other reviews that say this place needs a cleaning aren't kidding.It's as if someone cleaned the place hurriedly and left black greasy muck around seat legs and kitchen equipment. Glancing in the food prep area wasn't the most pleasant and I have a hard time thinking a health inspector wouldn't ding this place a good one. Considering the place doesn't get heavy traffic I'd suspect the half-full large trash can was left from the previous day's customers. The rice isn't that great and is rather bland tasting. I found myself pouring hot sauce into it which I've never done before, but it made it edible. The menu isn't that large and the facility is pretty run-down. You shouldn't have to worry about getting Montezuma's Revenge before eating your food. I did.

If I could give zero stars I would I was gonna make an order over the phone and they hung up on me ! The service with the food is slow they told me that the food would be ready for pick up in 30 min ! As soon as I got to the restaurant they said it would be ready in another ten min. I have waited 15+ on my order and other were served faster then I was and they just walked in ! Needs better service with orders over the phone and time management with orders over the phone !!!

Food was good but really over priced, like why charge 6 dollars for 2 small flautas that don't even include rice or beans just lettuce and 2 slices of tomato! Among other things on there menu. The place also needs more cleaning

The food was ok, but I ordered the 1/4 dark to go and when I got home there was barely any chicken, tons of green onions , a small drumstick and a tiny piece of thigh ( maybe) I will not return. They save a dollar in chicken to not have return customer. El Pollo Loco opening on Peoria, catch me there

I was hesitant to try this place based on past reviews but since they were from so long ago I thought I'd go ahead and give it a try. Glad I did! Great food and quick service!

This is hands down the best freaking chicken in Aurora. Wow. Soooooooo good. Perfect. The staff is very friendly and the handle thier food in very clean and professional manner. Thumbs up on that! Very good mexican. I love places where you can see the kitchen. The down side is unfortunately there needs to be better control of the homeless people that walk tend to hang out. The management do what they can to control it, but food needs to get cooked so I totally understand. It's just a little annoying if your trying to eat in peace and a homeless person comes up to you. Still giving it 5 stars, that's not stopping me from going back and getting that dam good chicken to go!
