Red’s American Grill

Visiting in town and my friend brought me by here for lunch. Service was great, wings and burgers not being frozen you could really taste the difference. Hats off to Jennifer for the great service.

Service slow, out of two of the items we wanted, same lackadaisical attitude as Frankie's 2. It was cleaner... but somehow still smelled of stale beer.

We gave this place a try again. We both ordered something different. My husband ordered the Fish Sandwich with Waffle fries. I ordered the smoked beef open face sandwich with mashed potatoes.The fish sandwich was quite large! My husband said he would probably order it again or the fish dinner. The smoked beef sandwich was good! The mashed potatoes were good! Real potatoes with chunks of potato! It would have all been GREAT if it was served hot. My potatoes were cold. The gravy was warm. The beef was warm. I guess I'm just not ordering the right thing....?Our waitress was a busy lady....hardly saw her. A man, who I believe to be a manager, came and took out plates and cashed us out.

Bar Service:Aimee is by far one of the best bartenders in COS, always attentive and giving great customer service without ever letting me down. She's got a great sense of humor and a fantastic sense of awareness. She can probably make any cocktail great, but her specialty is the Mexican Mule that you have to try!Cocktail Service:Ashley is the sweetest cocktail waitress/server you wish you always knew. I genuinely think that nothing can ever go wrong if she's looking after your table. She's gives great suggestions and is knowledgeable about the menu. She's outfitted with an amazing pen collection that each have a character of their own.Food/Beverages:They have good rotators on draft that I keep going back for (I love IPAs, but they have a decent variety) and the appetizers are delicious (potato skins, fried pickles, and the pretzel)! When I crave a good burger, I go for their Cali Burger.Tuesday Trivia Nights:Tuesday nights are fun for me because they do trivia there. The entertainment from the other contestants at the bar provide a healthy combination of competitiveness and comradery. The MC that hosts the trivia is very respectful and takes his time to greet the patrons after each eventful night. He's got good vibes and may even cheer your team name as you walk into the bar. Closing thoughts:One of the best bars in COS by far because of Tuesday Trivia Nights. Great customer service from Aimee and Ashley make it a desirable place to revisit. The refreshing beers and delicious food will satisfy your appetite.

Red's was one of the first restaurants I tried after moving to the area, and now I'm basically ruined for all other nearby restaurants. The Smoked Cajun Pasta is the friggin' best! So damn good. Quite spicy though, so if you're sensitive I suggest staying away from it. The Fish and Chips is pretty damn decent as well. It's not the best I've had, but it is the best I've had in a while. Their seasoned fries are fantastic also. Oh! And the calamari is delicious! So so good. The sauces aren't bad, but the calamari itself is perfectly seasoned and breaded and fried and I could literally make a meal of it.I've eaten here a few times and while the service didn't wow me, it also wasn't disappointing. Usually I get my food to get so my wife and I can pig out while watching whatever show we're binge watching for the night. The food is always hot when I get home with it.

Kelly was our waitress and she had a bubbly personality. She knew the menu well and was able to make recommendations. I had the Old Bay Flat Wings with the House Salad, and it was delicious. My colleague had a burger with peppers and a side of Seasoned Fries ( which Kelly recommended. He enjoyed his burger and fries. The restaurant was crowded for lunchtime and the staff seemed to work together as a team to serve the customers.I was very satisfied with my colleague selecting this restaurant during my visit to Colorado Springs. If you happen to go there, be sure to request Kelly!

It is obnoxiously loud inside. This is not a place for a date or a place to unwind. When we received our bottled beer and it was warm we should have walked out. The solution from our server was to bring us a cold glass 5 minutes after we told her it was warm. So it was even warmer. We ordered nachos. I guess you have to order the cheese separate because ours didn't come with much. I ordered the mushroom burger. No flavor at all. I added my own pepper. I didn't ask for BBQ sauce to be added. My husband ordered the classic burger only to find out it wasn't a burger. Our server was good. She asked us what we thought of things we told her how bad things were. My husband spoke to the manager when we walked out. He was less than receptive. He told us we needed to call him to the table. We didn't want people to hear our complaints and our server should have notified the manager. We weren't trying to get a discount. It was our choice to go there. We will never be back. I will usually give restaurants another change but this was bad all around. Fun fact: if you didn't like Frankie's or Back East you won't like it here. I've heard they are the same restaurants.

My kids really like their food and it really isn't bad at all but I always feel like I'm eating at a bingo hall, with the "last call" lights on, all while six foot social distancing. I do like that it's one of the only sit down restaurants nearby and not fast food. They also close early but so does everything else in the area. I guess the good thing is that they are consistent and actually have food.... not naming any local spots where the hours are based on the bartenders plans and you'd be lucky if you might get two food options from the menu between 8-8:30 pm, eh hem, we're all looking at you, Lavender Toad.

We went to Red's for an early dinner on the 13th given all the good reviews. Big mistake trusting reviews!My husband ordered the Quesadilla special and I ordered a BYOB with fries. Our server was very nice, prompt and checked on us often.As my husband was eating, I noticed he was picking pieces of meat out of his mouth and laying it on the side of his plate. I inquired was it bad? He said it is like trying to chew leather. When our server checked back he told her the meat was terrible and inedible. She apologized and said she would try to get a discount. That was not the point. It was just plain bad. He pulled all the meat pieces out of the Quesadilla and said the remaining part (vegetables and cheese) was not too bad without the meat. Looking at the discarded meat, it definitely was not fresh that day. It looked very dry and certainly not in-house cut. Edges very straight, mechanically cut. Told him there might have been a reason it was on the Specials menu.He did ask for another salsa. We were charged $1.00 for a small plastic cup! The accompanying tortilla chips were definitely stale. I tried them! I didn't reach for a second chip!My hamburger looked very good. Came with lettuce, tomato, onion and pickles. For some reason I thought I read somewhere that the hamburgers were house-blend beef. I assumed a hand-made patty. My mistake. My first bite of the burger, I realized Red's must have an amazing recipe to make their burgers just like a frozen patty. I ate it, but certainly was wanting a big, juicy hand-made burger. It definitely was not that! In fact, I gave my husband half of my burger because I felt so bad his meal was awful! Frozen patty or not, at least he didn't spit it out.In the end, the server (I forget her name) did put a 10% discount on our ticket. Very nice, but the bad food was certainly not her fault.We definitely will not be returning to Red's anytime soon.

Reds is always great...good food, good value, and the server Rainbow is a delight. Bring your friends!
