Otis BBQ

Being from the South, I know my BBQ, and having lived in the Springs for over a decade, I know the best this city has to offer. When it comes to BBQ... it's now Otis's Alabama in Manitou! We were actually on our way to another restaurant when I smelled what I knew was going to be good. We had their brisket and pork sandwiches with coleslaw and BBQ beans. This is the real deal when it comes to the BBQ and you won't find anything like it anywhere else around here, but the sides are lacking in options and just OK when it comes to taste and texture. As well, it was a real disappointment to be served plasticware for knife and fork, as well as plastic bottle water. Those are things that could be improved upon, as we don't believe in continued pollution. We must remember to bring our travel stainless again, but frankly it's been a while since we had to deal with it here in Colorado. Next... will check out the ribs. Welcome, Otis! Poor service, poor experience-- I watched them treat another table terribly. Food was okay.

If your driving down the main drag, you might see someone waving at you. It looks fake, but it is Otis trying to get you to pull over and up the hill to try his BBQ. He has ribs, pork, brisket and only 2 sides and no sandwiches.. The Cole slaw was crunchy and cold and the brisket sample was great. The brisket plate with one side was $12, but unless you ask for lean, you might get what we got - a slab of fat. Luckily, Otis got us a lean slice and the brisket was tender and had quite a good bark. His bbq sauce though, needed some more zing. Nice picnic tables to relax and eat as well.

D to the licious!! Best I've had in Colorado. 1. Brisket- tender, juicy, flavorful. Owner asked if I wanted fat or lean, I asked for fatty, and wow was it the right choice!!!2. Ribs- large, tender, great flavor! Never even used the bbq sauce for the ribs, totally unnecessary. Fall off the bone, but still firm meaty texture3. Pulled pork- so tender. Full "chunks" Great little spot. Can't wait till next time I'm in manitou, will definitely get again and again and again!!

First time going, met Steve the owner fantastic guy from Alabama. I tried to sampler and it was fantastic. Highly recommend it.

Amazing barbecue. The best I've ever had. So well seasoned that you don't even need barbecue sauce. Juicy flavorful fall off the bone tender meats. Do not pass this one up. If you're looking for the best barbecue meal, don't miss this spot.

Owner is a very friendly, down to earth, genuine dude. 10/10 highly recommend giving this place a try

We had a very negative experience at this place yesterday. My wife put a review on Google describing the problems... wobbly table, no soap or paper towels in the restroom, canned drinks from a dirty cooler, staff watching a battle scene from the movie 300 while we were fighting our 2 and 5 year old to avoid them watching it. The owner responded with impolite lies. This response embodies what is wrong with this place. Complete lack of ownership and desire to put out a quality product. No interest in their customers a no effort to take some feedback and be better. It would not take much effort to make these improvements but the lack of responsibility is what is wrong in the first place. Food is fine but I can't imagine this place will last very long with the negative energy this place is carrying.

If you like hometown restaurants this is for you. It is a no frills BBQ joint. The people were beyond nice. Even if you don't love BBQ or no frills dining experiences, it is a good idea to support local business. The taste and quality of Mom and Pop joints cant be replicated by chains. The menu was basic with a few choices for sides and entrees. Drinks are served in cold cans.
