On The Border Mexican Grill & Cantina

Not bad for what it is. Seriously not really authentic Mexican cuisine, but if you're hungry and your expectations aren't over the top this should satisfy your needs.

I just left this location. The restaurant was not busy. I stood there for 10 minutes by the podium. Despite numerous employees walking all around the restaurant, clearly seeing me, no one ever acknowledged me. Antonio, who normally provides excellent customer service, walked directly past me at one point, but never made eye contact. I'm left to assume that I am either invisible, or deemed unworthy of service tonight. The final straw, however, was when he beamed and waved happily at the people who came in behind me. I won't be back to this location. There's a customer service lesson here for Antonio and the others. A simple greeting and acknowledgment would have sufficed and made me happy. But being intentionally ignored is not acceptable to me. I'll spend my money elsewhere.

Kind of a similar visit to last time. We waited a long time for our waitress at the start and also at the end when we were ready for our bill. Between then, we saw her often, we got our food quick, and it was delicious. Chicken and steak fajitas were really good, and even the tortillas were fresh and yummy. Enchiladas and chimichanga were also good. With so little quality TexMex around, I'm guessing we'll be back again.

I don't know that I have ever written a bad review before but here we go. Got takeout, when I first walked in there was no one who worked there in sight. People finally emerged and at least two people looked right at me and said not a word and did not come over. Finally someone told someone else to get to the to go order. The person went to the to go orders, looked at them and said - it will be on the shelf. I asked if it was there now or would be and the response was a shrug. I went and looked and it was there. Food was fine, but again, order incomplete. I used to live near this location and haven't been back for a year or so. It was going downhill before. But now, well let's just say I won't be back.

The curbside pick up parking spots say call this phone number. After hearing the message twice I pushed the number for the restaurant and they said, "Oh come inside to get your food". Ok, what is the point of curbside pickup?Once inside I was told to go to the green rack to pick up my food. The first bag I picked up simply had a number on it but no name. They then asked my name and checked in the back for my food. Surprise, the order doesn't appear to have even been started. After 16 minutes beyond the promised time elapsed, i was told they are still working on the order in the back. I'm going to end the review at this point, seeing it is just the beginning of another restaurant that is slipping.

My mom and I went to eat there for lunch and it was delicious. Mom had a enchilada and I had one chicken flautas and two fish tacos and they were wonderful. Then we had a margarita cheesecake piece, and strawberry chimichanga cheesecake bites.

The food isn't really Mexican. It's like you might expect in New York City. The pico and salsas are bland.The service wasn't bad but not great.Ambiance? Not so much.

Our school held a fundraiser at On the Border in November. It is over three months later and we have still not received any response to our multiple emails asking about the status of our check. This restaurant held itself out as supporting schools and took money from our families, but refuses to respond to us regarding its obligations. Many parents reported the same poor service the night of the fundraiser; understaffed, snappy servers who refused to do guacamole live because they didn't have enough workers for the service, cold food that took forever to come out, and overall poor quality for the high prices paid. Do not host a fundraiser at this restaurant if you want to get paid!

Day in and day out, this place never ceases to amaze me how horrible the service is. Only redeeming quality is the manger that actually seems like she cares. Rest is garbage
